Vurstová, Aneta
This bachelor thesis "Evaluation of life manifestations of horses in relation to the way of their use and housing" deals with the ethology of horses and how it affects the environ-ment in which horses live. In the first part of the literature review, the origin of horses is briefly described. The second part deals with basic life manifestations such as food behavior, excretion, rest, movement, sexual behavior and social behavior. The next part describes the horse's psyche and intelligence. The last part deals with abnormal behavior. The practical part was realized in the form of ethological observation. The influence of stabling and use of horses was evaluated. The experiment was conducted in the summer of 2022 in nine different stables. The most common manifestation, in all groups, was food intake. Another important manifestation was resting behavior, which manifested itself in all groups especially in the afternoon. The third most frequent manifestation was observation of the surroundings.
Pohybová aktivita koní v aktivní stáji v závislosti na věku a ročním období
ORSÁKOVÁ, Kamila
The aim of the thesis was to monitor the daily activity of a selected group of horses in an active stable during the year. And to evaluate the influence of age and season on the daily activity of horses in an active stable. For the measure-ment of the physical activity the halter (headstall) attached GPS trackers were used for each individual horse. A total of 170 horse observations were made. Majority of observations were made for the Czech Warmblood breed, in 3 different age groups (young - up to 5 years, middle - 6-15 years, old - 16 years and more). In total 14 horses were observed, 5 horses in the young group, 5 horses in the medium group and 4 horses in the old group in the active stable Mažice. The monitoring took place during summer, autumn and winter, with the horses moving freely in all parts of the active stables, without using the horses for sport or riding purposes. The data were subsequently processed and evaluated by Statistica 12. In the active stable, it was observed that the age and season affects the daily activity of the horses. In summer, the highest moving distance was recorded for all groups with an average of 11.6 km/day. The highest was in young horses, which walked an average of 13.53 km/day in summer. Conversely, the smallest differences in daily activity were in the winter period, when the young group walked an average of 10.1 km/day, and the middle and old walked 8.6 km/day. The young group appeared to show the highest activity throughout the year and were most influenced by the season. On the other hand, the old and medium group did not show such a difference in activity when the season changed. For example, in autumn and winter, the old and medium group activity was almost at the same level. Active housing provides significant advantage in a freedom of movement, if designed properly. It is a husbandry technique that allows the horse to walk as many kilometers per day as it needs to and thus promotes proper musculoskeletal development in young horses and circulation in old horses. The results can be used as an overview for the breeder, who is interested in how much the horse can walk during the day and the time of year, and can design the time options for the paddock accordingly.
Influence of probiotic feed supplements on the growth and health calves
ŠEBKOVÁ, Anna
Thesis contains informations about right stabling and nutrition of calfs. It´s include importance of probiotic supplements and their influence to growth and health of cows. Newborns weight in seven days after birth was similar (54 kg) in every of three groups. Significant diferences were registered at the end of these monitoring, in ninety days after birth. First Group witch consumed RumiForm Digest had average wight 126 kg. Groups witch consumed RumiForm Digest with bacteria mixture, had average weight 146 kg. In every monitored groups diarrheal was detected. The biggest frequency was detected at group, witch consumed RumiForm Digest with bacteria mixture. There was detected 9% diarrheal diseases in total 48 calfs. Deads were detected only in the group of calfs whitche eat RumiForm Digest with probiotics during the experiment. Total mortality was less thas 2%. There wasn´t shown influence of probiotics to calfs growth (p-value (calves weight on the 7th day after birth) = 0,63; p-value (calves weight on the 90th day after birth) = 0,31, p-value greater than 0,5), either to calfs health (p-value (comparison of diarrhea rates) = 0,67; p-value (death) = 0,82, p-value greater than 0,5). Can not be said, that the eating of probiotics supplements had pozitive influence to calfs grow and health.

Návrh ustájení a využití koní pro práci v lese
CHALUPOVÁ, Aneta
On the basis of written sources and actual information obtained from the forest owners a proposal for a solution has been prepared. The proposal concerns stabling system, health care and professional use of horses in the forest cover. Natural and terrain conditions as well as usability of particular cold-blooded horse breeds are taken into consideration while dealing with this matter. This study also includes a proposal for the organisation of work, necessary number of workers needed and rough financial budget of cost items. Study also compares horses to mechanical means of collecting wood. Based on the analysis, where 85 cold-blooded horses have been evaluated, an overview has been elaborated. The overview includes priorities and satisfaction of the owners with horses and horses´ current situation in forestry. In conclusion it is proven that average age of coachmen working in forestry is 42 years. The most often used breed is Slézský norik, in the age of 6 to 10 years. The coachmen usually work in a hard, sometimes even steep and chaotic, terrain. The most often stated payment for one concentrated cubic meter of wood is 80 CZK. The average number of concentrated cubic metres is 14 per day. The most often used type of stable for cold-blooded horses is tethering. The second most frequently used is stalls.

Analysis of the suitability of different ways of stabling for the beef breeds of cattle.
PRŮŠA, Jan
The Bachelor thesis is dealing with the analysis of the different ways of stabling of the beef cattle. The goal of my work is an evaluation of reproduction indicators and health state of two different cattle breeds in two different types of stabling. The first of the breeds - Blonde d' Aquitaine stabled in company Zemědělská Klučenice joint stock company a.s. (Farm A). The second breed is Aberdeen Angus stabled on family Farm in Palčice (Farm B). The result have been evaluated for year 2012 and for 121 cows of main herd of Blonde d' Aquitaine, which have been stabled freely in adapted brick buildings during the winter period and 9 cows of the main herd of Aberdeen Angus stabled in an outside wintering side with access to the light wooden shelter during the winter period. The data have been gathered from internal resources, by questioning the livestock specialist, the owner of the farm and from own observing. Both of the used stabling is meeting the requirements of the welfare. There were not any sings of any health problems on the both Farms. The animals have acted calm and balanced. They have been obviously in good shape. The outcome from the results is that both types of the stabling is suitable for breeding of stated breeds.

Comparing the impact of housing and milking technologies on selected indicators of performance and quality of milk
POLÁKOVÁ, Radka
The theme of this thesis is to compare free housing with a milking robot, milking of serious housing in the pipeline. The evaluation is focused on milk yield and its quality, reproductive performance and health. It is also monitored by the free choice of milking cows during the day. Consideration is also observed in stable microclimate. Everything is assessed under operational conditions. Object of study is a refurbished barn, where both systems are in operation. Were measured and compared observed values of milk production, reproduction and health status between groups. The observed values were evaluated in the program Statistica 9th of a computerized milking robot system was speciaed the period of time when Nada dairy milk provides the most of milk through a robot.. In the area of dairy cattle milking robot reaches a higher milk yield and increasing the percentage of lactose recovery. Milking stalls of the pipeline has better results in the percentage of protein recovery. The choice of time period of milking cows, the most milk by dairy cows wasprovided between 10:00-18:00 pm. In the area of reproduction achieved better results with loose housing milking robot. The issue of health status showed a statistically better health outcomes for the free housing with a milking robot.
