Verification of metabolism prediction based on performed activity
Kopecký, David ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Kopečková, Barbora (advisor)
Nowadays, metabolic rate or energy expenditure in general is one of the most discussed topics, especially in connection with a healthy lifestyle. Nevertheless, the metabolic rate can be used as a relatively accurate indicator of physical or thermal load as well. Usually, the value of metabolic rate is used as input into various physiological models. These models estimate the body’s thermal stress, for instance when working in a protective suit. The thesis deals not only with tabulated values of metabolic rate, but it also focuses on the accuracy of estimated metabolic rate using simple measuring devices. The Apple Watch Series 4 smartwatch, the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Glass sports tester, and the Fitbit Inspire smart sports bracelet were used for the measurements published in the thesis. The results of the measurements show that contemporary sports testers are still inappropriate for use in healthcare or elite sports.

The influence of training on the lungs functional capacity in gymnasts
Říhová, Marcela ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Krištofič, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: The effect of training exercise on lung functional capacity in gymnasts Objectives: The objectives of this work is to find out the influence of gymnastic exercise on forced vital capacity (FVC), heart rate and blood LA. Methods: Nine female top-level artistic gymnasts participated in the study. The age ranged between 18-25 years. FVC was measured by a personal spirometer, heart rate by a sportester, and blood lactate level by a blood LA analyzer Statistical analysis: Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the relationships between variables. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was used to test normality in our dependent variables. Regression models were used to estimate associations between variables. Non-parametric Friedman test was used to test the differences between measurements and Wilcoxon test was used for post-hoc analysis. Results: A statistically significant increasing (p <0.05) was found in the blood LA as well as in heart rate. A statistically significant relationship (p <0.05) was confirmed between resting LA level and percentage changes in FVC and LA. Keywords: spirometer, sporttester, blood lactate, burpee test, LA, artistic gymnastics
Analysis assumptions and daily energy expenditure of students on Faculty of Education University of South Bohemia on cross-country skiing course\\
KŘÍŽENECKÝ, Daniel
The aim of the bachelor thesis is analyse the physical presumptions and the daily energetic regime of certain students from the Faculty of Education, Univerzity of South Bohemia, who attended a cross country skying course. The main goal of the thesis consists in comparing the results of students tested before, during and after the course. Selected and properly advised individuals will endure the inicial process of measuring in the KTVS laboratory. Afterwards, a two-week period of monitoring values and registering daily energetic income and expenditure within the course will be executed. The final evaluation will be also held in the KTVS laboratory. Subsequently, the measured values will be elaborated and compared to one another. The results obtained should answer the following questions: What was the impact of the course on the participants? Has the participants' performance been improved or has it remained unchanged? Has the nutrition been sufficient to their energetic expenditure?
Analysis of the energy performance of the second half of the study program of physical education and sport at the University of South Bohemia
HANZLÍK, Michal
The aim of this bachelor thesis is an energetic demand during second half of the field physical education study at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Necessary data were obtained during forth and fifth semester, at winter skying course in Alp d'Huez and winter snowboarding course in Vars. In theoretical part we are following up matters connected to the given topic, especially physiology. In the empiric part we are describing the measured group, work organisation, used appliances, structure of teaching units and measurement results.
