Social therapeutic workshops as a Possibility of an Integration of Mentally Disabled People

The thesis is focused on the service of the social therapeutic workshop as one of the possible support for the integration of persons with intellectual disabilities into the normal life. In the first part of my thesis I summarize the theoretical knowledge regarding characteristics of mental disability. The next chapter deals with the integration of people with mental disabilities, their needs and rights, including the possible disadvantages in some spheres of everyday life. Followed by defining services to socialy therapeutic workshops. At the conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the support of individual areas. The aim of the empirical section is to characterize the role of social therapeutic workshops in the integration of people with mental disabilities into the normal life. From the results obtained it follows that the socially therapeutic workshops may have for the user a positive contribution in the various areas of their life and this also could theoretically lead to easier integration into the life of ordinary society. However this benefit is highly dependent on the individual abilities of each individual and also depends on the degree and depth of thein disability. Some users therefore can achieve optimal levels of autonomy and improve their social as well as professional application....
The possibilities of using a story in a correlation at work with people traumatized by brain injury

This thesis contains two parts, theoretical one and practical one. The first part is mostly about a theoretical definition. It is mainly focused on following terms: story, life story, narrative approach, trauma, acquired disablement. Attention is paid to a target group (people with a brain trauma), they are also important in the practical part later. The thesis mentions the most frequent occasions of a brain injury/damage and their potencial consequences. Each information is connected with the main topic of this thesis. The organisation, where stories were used as a part of Social Therapy Workshop, is briefly introduced at the end of the first part. In the practical part some findings are devolved into a profession. The stories, which were collected during the direct work with clients of Social Therapy Workshop, are the most significant texts of this part. There is a space for client's particular life stories, they are analyzed than. The personal topic of each client is highlighted and the thesis provides various interpretations. The summary of the whole cooperation is situated at the end of this part. It includes links to process of individual consultations and individual plan fulfilment. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of self-sufficiency users of social service, social therapeutic workshops ARPIDA. The work includes issues of disability, which is divided into several types: physical, mental and combined disability. Further work focused on work for people with disabilities, such as protected workshops, protected job, supported employment and social therapeutic workshops. Another part involves combination of theoretical knowledge and practicalverification of this. I defined the area of self - suficiency users according to annex no. 1 of notice no 505/2006 Sb. such as mobility, orientation, communication, food, clothing and footwear, personal hygiene, physiological needs, health care, personal activities and home care. This part is implemented quantitative research through observation, interviews with users and document analysis.
