MYŠÁKOVÁ, Hana
The master's thesis Social rehabilitation services from the users' point of view is concerned with social rehabilitation through users of the service who play an important role in its successful realization. The theoretical part of the thesis defines basic issues. Development of social services in the Czech Republic and their current legislative form is described. The importance of social rehabilitation from the view of coordinated rehabilitation is explained. However, the main part is focused on particularities of social rehabilitation in the sence of social services. Current trends in social services, related especially to a planned amendment of the Social Services Act, are referred to in the end. The practical part of the thesis is written in the form of a qualitative research. The method of questioning and semi-structured interviews were used for the purposes of the research. Fourteen people were chosen intentionally for the survey. The data gained from the interviews were analysed with the method of open coding. The main aim of the thesis was to evaluate the importance of social rehabilitation in the context of abilities and skills that users of social services gained. In addition to that, social rehabilitation availability in the region of Písek was discussed. The results of the research showed interesting knowledge about meaning of service for its user. Three organizations, whose target group are people with disability, provide social rehabilitation services in the region of Písek. Obstacles connected to people's disability are the main reason for the interest in this service. The users of social services expect help and support above all, while solving their unfavourable social conditions. These may vary, so the content of social service may vary as well, and their lenght can be different across different providers. Important role in process of providing service has social worker, which leads user to social change and participates on succes of service itself. This master's thesis can be contributive to understanding the importance of social rehabilitation for disabled people's living. It brings information about users' experience with the realization of social rehabilitation services and about their satisfaction. It can also help to uncover weaknesses and obstacles during the realization of the services.
Cooperation of the Social Affairs Department of the Municipality City České Budějovice with Non-governmental Organizations
KYSELOVÁ, Irena
This bachelor thesis is named Cooperation of the Social Affairs Department of the Municipality City České Budějovice with Non-governmental Organizations. It deals with issues of mutual cooperation of contractors and providers of social services for professional social counseling in the administrative district of České Budějovice. The aim of the thesis is to map out mutual cooperation of the above mentioned entities. The most important group in the process of providing social services are users who are informed about their rights and duties, they understand their situation and are able to contribute actively to its solution. Therefore I chose the first research question directed to this triad member. The result of this question will determine whether the social affairs department of the City Council of České Budějovice processed information system for users of professional social counseling. In the second research question I identified providers among nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to determine whether they are actively informed about the possibilities of mutual cooperation with the administrative district of Ceske Budejovice. For the practical part of the thesis I used qualitative research. For the actual collection of information I used the method of semi structured interview, personal interview technique. For the realization of the research two research files were selected. The first set consisted of three communication partners from the administrative district of České Budějovice engaged in cooperation with NGOs, community planning and leadership of the working group "Consulting". For the second research group there were selected communication partners from eight NGOs that have registered social services of professional social counseling in the Register of Social Services Providers in the České Budějovice district. This was an adequate number of respondents for selected qualitative research, the theoretical saturation was fulfilled. A cyclical, continuous process of community planning leads to meet the targeted goals of the entities. The process allows you to define and subsequently to support the provision of social services. This purpose is fulfilled by community planning documents, the "Development plan of social services of the Czech Republic for 2013 2018" and "The action plan of the Development plan for the year 2015", which take into account the current status, needs, resources, trends and other relevant factors, based on regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of each of the planned measures.. Equal partners of the contracting authority are the providers of social services from NGOs, who are part of the entire community process. The contracting authority in cooperation with them stems from the concept of social services and it also uses a wide area of tools, so that the party interested on the provision of social services is comprehensively informed. Due to the fact that the providers of NGOs are active collaborators in the field of planning of social services, they are members of the various advisory groups; they have a representative in the social commission of the city and shall cooperate in the issuance of community documents. Therefore they have a comprehensive look at all the achievable and the real possibilities of where, how and what is the most appropriate way to inform interested parties about the range of their provided social services. On the basis of the research it can be stated that the users have many options how to learn about the activities of the contracting entity and the individual providers in the case of interest for the provision of social service. The results of the work can be used to gain a comprehensive perspective on the cooperation problem and the possible practical use of information generated by research interviews with the sponsor and the provider of social services.
Accessibility and Use of Social Services by the Romany Minority in Prachatice
ZŮNOVÁ, Petra
Accessibility and use of social services by the Romany minority in Prachatice is a very topical issue. All social services provided are specified in the Social Services Act. The main mission of the aforesaid Act is to protect the rights and legitimate interests of individuals who are disadvantaged in the enforcement of their interests for various reasons. These reasons may include age, race, health handicap, critical life situation, insufficiently stimulating social environment, etc. The objective was to map social services used by the Romany minority in Prachatice. In order to fulfil the objective of the thesis, the following three research questions were put. RQ 1: What are the problems concerning which the Romany minority contacts social services organizations? RQ 2: Do the social services offered in Prachatice reflect the issues of the Romany population? RQ 3: What social needs of the Romany people in Prachatice remain unsatisfied? For the research part a qualitative methodology was used, which allowed to depict the dynamics of opinions and attitudes of all informants. The data were collected by means of a semi-structured interview technique. The research examined both the views of Romany citizens of Prachatice and the views of social workers from the local social services organizations. The data were collected from 17 informants in total. The obtained data were processed while using the grounded theory. As an important finding that resulted from my research, I deem the fact that the Romany population in Prachatice knows only nine social services organizations and uses only five of them (Most naděje, Céčko, Coolna, Lungo Drom, Phénix). Moreover, they use the social services of these organizations only sporadically or not at all. The social services used by the Romany people include leisure time activities, social consultancy, visits at schools, provision and arrangement of meals, provision of accommodation, individual planning, crisis intervention, safekeeping of valuables, financial assistance, outreach work, exchange program, indicative testing, pre-school preparation and catch-up lessons. The Romany people would welcome greater interest of social services organizations and their responsiveness. They would also appreciate more leisure time activities in their quarters, better facilities of the quarters and their surroundings, more culture for Romany people and a Romany club led by a Romany social worker. They would also welcome a Romany social worker in some other social services and at the Municipal Police of Prachatice. Informants lack contact with the majority society and better time availability of the urban mass transport and, last but not least, would welcome changes in the municipal government. Social workers would welcome a social service in Prachatice with a psychologist and psychiatrist available for children and adults, higher frequency of visits of the citizens' association Fokus České Budějovice, establishment of social accommodation facilities and a day-care centre for homeless people, social service for children up to three years, strengthening of the ground social work, and a social service aimed at hiring Romany people for temporary jobs. Based on the results derived from the interviews performed and from the data obtained, it is possible to formulate the following three hypotheses. H1: The service most used by the Romany population is social consultancy. H2: Organizations providing social services respond to the Romany issues. H3: Prachatice needs to strengthen ground social work. The findings revealed by this thesis may be used by the social services organizations in Prachatice as feedback from the Romany minority concerning the given issues. Thus the organizations can respond to the need of particular services, which may result in more frequent use of social services in Prachatice.

This bachelor thesis describes issues with housing for elderly people in Czech Republic. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the demand for services for seniors in the Zlín Region and to consider if the demand is met by a sufficient supply. The situation in services for elderly people in Zlín Region was found to be above the average level for the Czech Republic. However it still requires development in many aspects and a connection with the ageing population. This thesis presents the outcome of the survey about the elderly care in concrete municipalities of the Zlín Region. The phenomenon of female homelessness from the perspective of a social worker
KLUSÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
The topic of this thesis is The Phenomenon of Female Homelessness as Seen by Health and Social Workers. Although the terms a homeless person and homelessness are terminologically unclear and there is no clear definition of this concept, the phenomenon of homelessness is known in our society. But it is not about homeless people as such, the Social Services Act defines homeless people as people without any housing available. Despite the fact that there is more information on male homelessness, the issues of female homelessness are coming to the fore. Female homelessness is an issue that is very closely linked to the loss of housing. However, the issue is not only about a loss of housing but also about the issue of domestic violence, maintaining dignity and, finally, it is also about the interest of children and their safety. Homelessness of families, whether it is a single mother with children or a father with children as well as a complete family, also begins to appear. With the increasing number of women threatened in this way, an increasing number of organizations providing social services for homeless women is beginning to appear. These services are provided as outpatient services, field services and residential services. Homeless people, and therefore homeless women, are provided with social services in asylum homes, hostels, drop-in day centres, crisis centres, halfway houses engaged in the prevention of homelessness of girls who leave institutional care, and social activation services for families with children that are threatened by this phenomenon. However, it includes not only these services, but a major role is played by social counselling that is provided to women in professional counselling centres. The issue of social services is dealt with by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, but also by regions, municipalities and, ultimately, non-profit organizations. Qualitative research was chosen for the practical part of the thesis using the interview method with a manual. Case reports were processed based on the interviews conducted. The research was conducted at an asylum home for women and mothers with children (Azylový dům pro ženy a matky s dětmi in Tábor) and a crisis centre for mother and child (Krizové centrum pro matku a dítě in Kostelec). Ten respondents participated in the interviews. In addition, interviews were conducted with workers of social services in the South Bohemia region. The workers in each of the facilities were selected according to their posts; they were mainly social workers or manager of the facilities. Six respondents out of seven interviewed respondents from the asylum home for women and mothers with children participated in the research. The remaining four respondents were from the crisis centre for mother and child. The respondents were selected using purposive selection. After contacting the managers or social workers from the social service facilities for homeless women in the South Bohemia region, I was provided with, in addition to three facilities, necessary information about the capacity of the facilities and whether the service is adequate or not. The objective was to map the number of organizations that provide social services to homeless women in the South Bohemia region and find out the most common reasons that lead to the emergence of female homelessness. To achieve the set objectives the following research questions were formulated: Is the amount of social services for homeless women in the South Bohemia region sufficient? What are the most common reasons that lead to the emergence of female homelessness?

KŘIVANCOVÁ, Eva
The theme of the Bachelor thesis is a contribution to the care and its development in Strakonice region. Usage of Social Care Allowances by Disabled People Older than Eighteen
NOVOTNÁ, Šárka
This Bachelor´s work deals with a social care allowance in degree II granted to handicapped people over 18 years of age, dependent on another person´s asssistance, who live in the home environment. The work is trying to find out how much they use the allowance to buy field social services and whether they use it for arranging for assistance for themselves. I am engaged in the problem as a field social worker of assistance allowance. The theoretical part presents the Act No. 108/2006 Coll.on Social Services, describes the system of social services and social assistance before this Act came into force. Subsequently it addresses care allowances and current social care services, the position of a social service worker whose professionalism is guaranteed by the Social Services Act, deals with ethics and the current concept of social work. The practical part is based on the findings of qualitative research technique, questionning the clients while controlling the use of an allowance. The findings confirm the fact that the care allowance is misused and hardly ever used to buy field social services. The work may form a background for comments on the Law No. 108/2006 Coll. On Social Services and thus help solve the problem of misusing the allowance. There are two views of the situation to be considered. Either the attitude of the Ministery of Labour and Social Affairs which prefers better monitoring of the allowances and the other view prefers insisting in better individual social work with every single beneficiary
Acceptance of applicants for Home for elderly people by social services law
SAMCOVÁ, Monika
Not a single senior went to the home for the elderly because he or she did not want to be a nuisance for his or her children or other relatives, or at the time of putting in application he or she wanted to be sure of not staying without help, or he or she was not capable of looking after his or her farmstead or covering the costs of a large flat. The inhabitants accredit the primary responsibility for the care of the elderly to the state; it is a stereotype in thinking of most of us: I am old or ill/you are old or ill and I need/you need help, I will go/you will go to the home for the elderly. In the introduction part I deal with the problems of the old age. I describe the ageing as a progressing line of changes in a human from both the biological and psychological aspects. The number of ageing and old people in the world is increasing. These people need help. The Act No.108/2006 Coll. On Social Services, as amended, ensures the fundamental frame of the help needed. The thesis is especially focused on the provision of help in social institutions, homes for the elderly. The objective of the research was to find out about the conditions of admissions to the homes for the elderly. The chosen methodology was non-standardized dialogue with the workers of social departments of selected homes for the elderly and the secondary analyses of the data gained from the web pages of the institutions. It was found out that the age of the institutions residents is increasing. The average age of the residents of all homes for the elderly is 80.5 years. The need and dependence on the help of other person is increasing with the age. Owing to the ageing of population the number of rejected applications to the homes for the elderly is massively increasing. I suppose that the number of applicants could decrease by the coverage of sufficient number of quality terrain services.
