Social Entrepreneurship as Socially Responsible and Sustainable Business

The thesis focuses on comparing the concept of social entrepreneurship with the concepts of corporate social responsibility and sustainability. The theoretical part describes the civil sector, social economy, social entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility and sustainability. In the empirical part, the principles and indicators of social entrepreneurship are compared with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Subsequently, the topics and areas of these standards are identified through thematic analysis of specific activities of three selected social enterprises. The research aims to determine whether, and if so, how, the activities of social enterprises correspond with the principles of corporate social responsibility and sustainability according to ESRS. The results of the research show that the analysed social enterprises in all thematic areas of the environmental, social and economic pillars meet the social responsibility and sustainability criteria through their activities.
Integration of socially excluded people in the "Nový prostor"project

Thesis Integration of the Socially Excluded in the New Space project deals with the possibilities and ways of help to people in a difficult social situation through involvement in the street paper sale with another support of social services. The theoretical part defines the concepts of social exclusion and homelessness as its most difficult form, social business or human, social and cultural capital. The practical part focuses on social business of the New Space, the characteristics of their clients. An empirical research part is included, with examination about the impact of the support of New Space clients in their-own point of view and the degree of their reintegration into society. Human capital to support the development of the circular economy

his thesis deals with the analysis of the interdependence of human capital and the development of the circular economy in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on the depreciation of human capital in the context of the emergence of Industry 4.0. Key concepts and contexts are defined. The analysis of human capital depreciation is presented and the circular economy and its challenges are described. The link between the circular and social economy is also emphasised. The empirical part was developed as a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative part was carried out in the form of semi-structured questionnaires with experts working in the field of circular economy. On the basis of the evaluation of the qualitative part, a list of steps was drawn up that will lead to an improvement of the situation in the connection between the circular and social economy. The experts contacted were asked to rate the steps according to their urgency. This part of the research was carried out using a quantitative method.

The controversial nature of a social enterprise as a commercialized organization of the civil sector

The topic of this diploma thesis is the commercialization of civic organizations, which we understand as the process in which they take over some procedures, methods and strategies of the commercial sector in order to generate some profit. As the highest level of commercialization, this work considers the transformation of civil organization into a so called social enterprise.At the next potential level, this civic organization would become a pure market enterprise acting as socially responsible. Thus, a social enterprise is defined as a civic organization, for which profiting is just as important as an increase in public benefit by fulfilling of its own altruistic mission. However, it is said that this social mission may be threatened by the economic one. Whereas the social enterprise combines those two opposing attributes in the form of a social and economic mission, it is considered to be controversial. That's why the aim of this diploma thesis is to determine the importance of a transformation of civic organization into the social enterprise for its life and how this transformation affects its functioning and its essence. the Ananlysis of Civil Association as Social Enterprises in Prague

This diploma thesis is analyzing civic associations that conduct a social enterprise in Prague. The aim of the paper is to discover, in which measure do the specific associations fulfill economical and social conditions according to the methodology EMES, which represents characteristics for an "optimal social enterprise". Firstly, the thesis examines the idea of the social economics and social entrepreneurship in the Czech Republic as well as in Europe. It focuses on the research network EMES of professor Jacques Defourny, and on the legal and economical activity of the civic associations. The methodological part of the paper analysis examples of the specific civic associations through the methodology EMES. For each association, economic and social conditions, based on methodic EMES, are examined through the document analysis method and semi-structured interviews. Civic society organizations providing social services and entrepreneurial activities in Pardubice region

SYNOPSIS This thesis covers partial universe of civic society organizations that provide social services in Pardubice region. The primary goal of the thesis is to explore, through a questionnaire research, whether the income generated by these organizations is a determining factor in their association with the concept of social economy and social enterprise. The secondary goal is to identify, using semi-structured interviews with the representatives of civic society organizations, how they fulfill principles of social enterprise based to the "softer definition" developed by EMES. The first two chapters introduce concepts of public sector and social economy as well as identify their similarities and differences. It is followed by a description of social services and support of civic society organizations from the view point of several parties. The third chapter is dedicated to the actual research.
Supporting the Social Economy of European Institutions in Context of EU Employment Policy

The theme of the social economy is currently very topical at EU level and therefore in its member states. The emphasisis is on supporting development of social economy, because creates new jobs and leads to economic growth. The thesis aim is to describe the forms of promotion the social economy by EU institutions and their bodies, which is provided in the context of EU employment policy in period 2010-2015. The thesis identifies both forms of support and also justificatin in documents of european institutions and the supprort of social economy in Czech Republic.
Social Enterprises in Prague Communication of Entrepreneurship with a Social Benefit

The diploma thesis focuses on social enterprises and their use of marketing tools for their communication. In its first part the field where they operate within the Czech Republic is laid out including the legislative setting. Since the concept is relatively new here, approaches and inspiration from abroad are a cited. The part dedicated to marketing introduces different approaches to marketing presentations and to the overall communication of social enterprises and social firms. The outcome of this was to portray the possibilities of their communication with their target audiences. The research itself looks at the communication of social enterprises from several viewpoints. First of all it aims to show the approach taken by the subjects of social economy themselves. This is done through questionnaires and content analysis of documents. Also the view on the matter is expressed through an interview with a consultant of NESsT, an organization which deals with the theme of social entrepreneurship. The last angle, which is represented by a questionnaire for a selected segment of the public looks at their view of social enterprises and firms and their communication.
The analysis of social enterprise according to the TESSEA approach: The case study of Pracovní Sobota ltd.

The aim of the final thesis was the analysis of a social enterprise according to the TESSEA approach. The case study was conducted using both the document analysis and interviews. The document analysis showed which criteria (according to the TESSEA approach) were fulfilled by the chosen organization and which were not. Furthermore, there were analysed the mechanisms causing that the certain criteria were not fulfilled. These data were obtained through the interviews with the representatives of the organization. Finally, it is possible to conclude that the subject of the research fulfilled the criteria of the TESSEA approach. There were introduced the factors explaining why the criteria were not fulfilled. According to the representatives of the chosen organization among these main factors belonged the lack of financial and time resources, the lack of know-how, the legislative boundaries or the modeling the organization after commercial enterprises.
