Social engagement of artists: a case study of music albums by singer Katarzia and rappers Vec and Tono S.

Diploma thesis named Social engagement of artists: a case study of music albums by singer Katarzia and rappers Vec and Tono S. is a case study about social engagement of artists, concretely its representation in album Antigona from slovak singer Katarzia and in album Ultrazvuk by two slovak rappers Vec and Tono S. Thesis concentrates on social status of men and women, on a murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and situation in the society after it, and on the representation of those two topics in the eyes of artists of music albums and in the eyes of journalists in czech and slovak online magazines, who discuss and write about those music albums. Written documents, such as song lyrics, interviews, articles and reviews are analysed qualitatively, by the methods of a grounded theory. Topics, whom appear during the research, are afterwards labelled, being put into mutual contexts and illustrated by presenting concrete examples from materials. Final findings are afterwards reviewed, and its character revised with the help of two research questions, that are: "How do artists of music albums and journalists discussing those albums represent murder of a journalist and social situation in the society after it in song lyrics, interviews, articles and reviews?" and "How do artists of music albums and journalists...
Emmy Destinn as a writer and composer

Emmy Destinn was the most famous Czech operatic soprano, who achieved fame in the whole west world. Not only did she engage in singing but also in writing and composing. Several pieces of work came out during her lifetime. This thesis deals with the output of the writer and composer Emmy Destinny with a brief description of her life at the beginning. A collection of poems called Sturm und Ruhe was published in German in 1902. Five years later another collection Der galante Abbé also in German followed. Only the first collection of poems is analysed in this thesis. Emmy Destinn also wrote several plays: Pod praporem umění, Dvojí hřích, Rahel, Tůně, U Cíle, Kruh měsíců a Nadarmo. For the lack of literature the plays are described only generally. During her engagement in the Berlin State Opera she was trying to finish a novel Pan doktor Casanova, which, however, ended as two unfinished versions of a description of life in the State Opera. Her most crucial work is the chronicle novel Ve stínu modré růže with a subtitle Román zašlých vášní, in which she is describing the Leonhardi dynasty, which owned the castle in a town Stráž nad Nežárkou. On top of that, Emmy Destinn wrote two short stories Mladá paní stará and Strom zrazené lásky, which were inspired by the lives of people living in the surroundings...
Choral society of south bohemia - Budweiser amateur choir in the 20th century

The thesis catches Jihočeské pěvecké sdružení, the amateur ensemble from ćeské Budějovice. The theoretical part characterizes this choir with it´s seventy years old history, which offers a colourful music life including creation and destinction of the choir. Hereafter is about the historical implanting to a context of a former czech and world music and also introduces the reader with important persons of the JPS, who are participated on it´s history.
