Influence of Social Networks on Perception of Ideal Appearance in Early Adolescence

The bachelor's thesis entitled "The influence of social networks on the perception of ideal appearance in early adolescence" deals with the use of social networks and aims to identify possible impacts on self-esteem in people in early adolescence. The practical part of this bachelor thesis focuses on the quantitative research of the influence of social networks on the perception of ideal appearance in early adolescence in people aged 10-15 years.
Self-concept of pupils with specific learning disabilities at the 2nd level of primary school

The aim of the bachelor thesis' research was to find out and describe the level of a self-concept of primary school pupils with specific learning disabilities, what influences their self-concept and what contributes to a positive self-concept and a subsequent design of an appropriate educational approach to pupils with specific learning disabilities in terms of optimizing their mental development. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the research part. The theoretical part defines the basic characteristics of individual learning disabilities, the etiology and the consequences of specific learning disabilities. A separate chapter deals with a legislative definition of the education of pupils with special needs. Furthermore, the basic terminology from developmental psychology concerning the personality of an older school age pupil is described. The last chapter of the theoretical part explains the term self-concept and mentions partial areas of this phenomenon. The research part provides a description of the research design and describes the individual research methods. A triangulation approach which combines the method of observation, document analysis and semi-structured interview was chosen. The chapter 9 and its subchapters describe and analyse the results of a research survey that was carried out during the school year 2019/2020. The discussion and the conclusion of the work summarize, on the bases of the results obtained from the research part, the fulfilment of the aim of the work and provide answers to the stated research questions. Based on the results of the research survey, it was found that a specific disorder plays a very important role in the self-concept of primary school pupils, affecting a number of key aspects to a healthy self-concept. Pupils are usually insufficiently informed about their problems.
Preschool teacher with tattoo or other physical modification

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to find out how the general public views preschool teachers with physical modifications. The theoretical part is devoted to the personality of the teacher, the self-concept of the individual, especially the self-concept in the teaching profession and, last but not least, the definition of the concept of physical modification. It focuses mainly on those modifications that we commonly encounter - tattoos and piercings. The aim of the practical part is to clarify the attitude of the general public towards teachers with tattoos or other body modifications. For its fulfillment, mixed research is chosen, which consists of a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews. Qualitative research focuses on the attitudes and experiences of kindergarten teachers. Quantitative research maps public opinion.
Analysis of the use of physical activities in body image formation for the students of physical

The bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis of the use of physical activities in the context of physical self-concept of students of Physical Education and Spot at the Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia. In the analytical part, a content analysis of professional publications related to the selected topic, is performed and a comprehensive compilation is created. In the synthetic part, the obtained data are presented and evaluated by standardized PSDQ questionnaire. The survey was attended by 40 respondents, 29 men and 11 women in the age range of 20-25 years. 100% of respondents are satisfied with their own body image. Almost 50 % of respondents prefer fitness activities in connection with the body's self-concept.
School achievement in pupils with phenylketonuria

The diploma thesis called "School Achievement in Pupils with Phenylketonuria" tries to outline the lives of people who have to face up to a hereditary metabolic disorder - phenylketonuria, subjective and objective level of school success of these individuals. The theoretical part of this thesis offers the explanation of this term, introduces its diagnostics in general, the way of treatment, the specific diet and the impact of phenylketonuria on the development of individuals. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the school achievement in pupils with phenylketonuria, the self-view of individuals with phenylketonuria and the quality of life of these people supported by the already conducted researches. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the case studies of individuals suffering from phenylketonuria and emphasizes their school achievement, cognitive difficulties at higher levels of phenylalanine. More generally, it follows the level of acceptance of these people to the wider environment and tries to explain how the phenylketonuria has influenced their life. The aim of this work is to map the impact of phenylketonuria on the school achievement of respondents, their inclusion in the school team and the degree of influence on their life with phenylketonuria.
The use of art therapy practice for individuals with inadequate self-concept

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of art therapy in working with adults with inadequate self-concept. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains two main chapters that deal with self-concept and art therapy. Self-concept deals with a person's relationship to himself, witch fundamentally influences the possibilities of how an individual can relate to the world and suceed in it. Art therapy in a narrower sense uses fine art for therapeutic purposes. The practical part reports on art therapy work with adults with inadequate self-concept. Research outputs are presented in the form of case studies.

Problematika ideálu krásy prezentovaného v médiích je celosvětovým zkoumaným fenoménem už několik desítek let. S nástupem digitálních médií se však zájem o zkoumání této problematiky ještě více rozšířil a výzkumníci přichází k novým poznatkům a závěrům. Vnímání vlastního těla a spokojenost s ním jsou významným faktorem sebepojetí a sebehodnocení. Čím dál tím častěji se však setkáváme s diskrepancí mezi reálným a ideálním tělem, která mnohdy vede k patologickým stravovacím návykům, jež překlenou do poruch příjmu potravy nebo k excesivnímu cvičení. Předmětem této diplomové práce, kterou si neodvážím označit za čistou autoetnografii, ale spíše kvalitativní výzkum využívající vlastní sebereflexi, je přinést do otázky účinku médií v oblasti vnímání vlastního body image nový vhled. Skrze hloubkové rozhovory, které podrobně popisují vlastní zkušenost s různými formami poruch příjmu potravy a vedou k zamyšlení se nad jejich vznikem, průběhem i aktuálním stavem ve vztahu k užívání sociální sítě Instagram, jsem se jako autorka publikace setkala velmi často s podobnými poznatky i přes zcela odlišné příběhy a formy diskrepance. The Group Metacognitive Training for Adolescents with Anxiety

The rigorous thesis is focused on the translation, creation and subsequent use of metacognitive training (MCT) in adolescents with anxiety in group therapy. The theoretical part deals with adolescence, anxiety and with description of metacognitive training. It is supplemented by a rich representation of current research about the mental health of adolescents and the effectiveness of metacognitive therapy applied in various mental disorders. According to existing trainings, the program created by us is divided into 8 modules, with a fixed structure, held once a week. Each module focuses on a specific topic that concerns anxiety, and worksheets for each module are also used for training. Using a quasi-experiment, we measured the current level of anxiety in the pretest and posttest using standardized method STAI, and the overall self-concept measured with PHCSCS-2. We found subjective feeling of anxiety, depression, a tendency to self-harm and difficulty attending school. A total of 7 participants participated in the experimental group and 8 participants were in the control group. Five parents filled in the pretest and posttest feedback. Self-concept of an individual with an autism spectrum disorder and its reflection from the point of view of close people

This bachelor thesis deals with the self-concept of an individual with an autistic spectrum disorder and the reflection of their self-concept through the perspective of his close person. The theoretical part, that is separated to four parts, presents the history of approaches to ASD and its symptoms, I describe three main problematic features for individuals with autism. Then it describes the self- concept, historical and present approaches and concrete parts of self-concept, it also shows the results of previous research of the self-concept of individuals with ASD and presents the possibilities of examining the self-concept. In the empirical part, I deal with the specifics of the self-concept of individuals with ASD, the degree of adequacy of the view of close people and the most significant differences between the statements of close people and individuals with ASD. It also includes three case studies of respondents with ASD, their close people and its mutual comparisons. I describe the self-concept of individuals with ASD, view of their close people and I compare those two views. I also look for common topics for those respondents. I answer my research questions on this base. I compare my research with current researches. I also reflect possible limitations of my research.

The issue of the ideal of beauty presented in the media has been a worldwide phenomenon for several decades. After the origin of digital media, interest in researching this issue has expanded even more, and researchers are coming to new insights and conclusions. Body perception and satisfaction are important factors in self-concept. The subject of this diploma thesis, which I dare not call pure autoetnography, but rather qualitative research using my own self-reflection, is to bring a new perspective to the question of the media's effect on the perception of own body image. Through in-depth interviews that describe in detail several experiences with various forms of eating disorders is to think about the impact of Instagram on this topic. The main conclusion of the research is that none of the respondents confirmed Instagram as a trigger of the disease. Respondents call Instagram as coercive and harmful at a time when their psyche is already broken in some way. In that moment, most respondents described this social network as toxic and dangerous. However, despite all the negative experiences that most of them describe in the research, and which I went through as the author by myself, none of the respondents came to the conclusion that she should leave this platform at all.
