TITLE: Colour terminology in pre-school education AUTHOR: Kateřina Marková DEPARTMENT: Department of Art Education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Helena Kafková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The work focuses on studying color terminology in a specific pre-school and on their practical usage in pre-school environment. The core issue is the functional vocabulary of arts education, specifically its part connected to colors, understood predominantly as color tonality. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of literature review and the author's reflections on the studied texts. The work, besides pedagogical contexts of pre-school art education, touches the usage of colors in chosen periods of art history and on the practical side, it describes the usage of colors in a specific preschool environment. The research methods are qualitative and include observation and analysis of individual practices and portfolios and other presentations and data resource.
