Job Opportunities for Mothers of Children on the labour market in Respect of the Professional Carrier
BATÍKOVÁ, Renata
This thesis examines opportunities for mothers of children on the labour market in respect of their professional career. The objective of the thesis was to ascertain conducive and limiting factors that enable women who have small children to harmonize their family and work activities in respect of their profession. I also investigated what job opportunities on the labour market are offered to mothers of children by employers, and what opportunities would be preferred by mothers themselves. In the theoretical part I address roles in a family, the effect of the labour market on the professional career of mothers, gender in the society and employment, and the factors acting in harmonization of the work with the family. In the practical part I describe the objective of the thesis, hypotheses, research methods and the results. For implementation of the research part I selected quantitative research when I used the method of questioning and the technique of a questionnaire. The investigation was conducted in a direct and indirect form (electronic mail) of contacting in South Bohemia. Research set V1 consisted of mothers of children up to ten years of age, while research set V2 consisted of employers in the Region of South Bohemia. As the research results have revealed, more than a half of the mothers conducts their profession and a half of the mothers has been currently developing their profession, in particular women with higher technical education and university-educated women who also enjoy support by their families. It also follows from the research that most employers support professional growth of mothers. However, the opportunities provided by employers often do not correspond to the requirements of mothers. Thus I would recommend improvement of communication in order to achieve clarification of the requirements by mothers and modification of the offer by employers. In my opinion, this bachelor thesis may be also used for this purpose.
