Solidification of castings by pouring into shell moulds in vakuum furnaces
Odložil, Jan ; Ňuksa, Petr (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
Heat transfer during metal pouring and its solidification in the vacuum furnace have been investigated by experiments using model set of castings of different diameters and insulations. The pouring metal was Inconel 713LC alloy based on nickel. The found data have been used for optimization of the numerical simulation of the thermal regime during the both pouring and solidification phases of the process in vacuum. Numerical simulation of the alloy structure in individual castings has been made by the CAFE module of the ProCast software and obtained results compared with the real structure. The optimized boundary conditions can be used for simulation of real castings.
Selection of suitable fluid flow directions in laminar flow tubular cooler
Krobot, David ; Kohoutek, Josef (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master’s thesis is devoted to problematic of selection of suitable flow directions in double pipe heat exchanger. First chapter is oriented to the construction of tube heat exchangers. It is also discussed impact of construction solution to the flow character and changing of his process parameters. The difference between parallel and countercurrent flow is also occurred in this parts. The next chapter is focused to the basics of heat-hydraulic calculations of heat exchanger. This also means explanation of ways of heat transfer and heat exchanger function. There are told about specific access to the solving problem of fluid laminar flow. The third chapter is detailed focused to the calculating of heat exchanger. At first is discussed factors, which have impact to the flow character. Next are detailed descriptions of design and controlling calculations, including more alternative ways to solve it. Next chapter exploit those results for deciding, which flow arrangement will be better for given case. Last chapter contain realization and reformulating of process heat exchanger calculating to the program code in Maple. There is also description of used algorithms and operating with them, so any user could be able to work with it. In this master’s thesis are used many examples from attached programs on different parts.
Heat transfer in the storage cask and its impact on the environment
Marcell, Jan ; Slovák, Jiří (referee) ; Matal, Oldřich (advisor)
The main object of this diploma thesis is solving problems concerning heat transfer in disposal cannister for spent nuclear fuel. In forepart possibilities of conceptual solving according of disposal cannister to particular states are reviwed. On the basis of this a variant of possible protect of a nuclear fuel repository in the Czech republic has been chosen for calculationof a simplified model. Second part is computational solving that was divided into two parts. The first deals with calculation of heat transfer in disposal canister and is done by an analytical method. In the second part is calculation is done by numerical model. In this way region in near surroundings of this model of disposal cannister is analysed. Last part those diploma thesis deals with design of the storage of spacing among disposal canisters as well as optimum placing in underground part of nuclear fuel repository.
CFD geometry optimalisation of heat exchanger
Stromský, Ondřej ; Gottvald, Jakub (referee) ; Nekvasil, Richard (advisor)
The main task of thesis is to find optimum geometry of the heat exchanger. The biggest emphases is placed to finding the most optimum of streaming liquid in the heat exchanger and to minimisation pressure losses. There is a effort to regulate the streaming liquids in heat exchangers so that in multitube and on the shell side don´t create dead areas, it means to avoid sedimentation of particle in these places. Dead areas cause rising resistance against heat transfer and necessity of frequently cleaning the heat exchanger. For these reasons is necessary to do analyse of flowing and to looking for the optimal geometry of the heat exchanger.
Modelling of fouling and its influence on technical-economic characteristics of tubular heat transfer equipment in units for thermal processing of wastes
Keliš, Michal ; Kohoutek, Josef (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
The main subject of this study is the improvement of predicative ability of previously developed mathematical model for prediction of so-called “fouling critical velocity”. Attention is devoted especially to the flue gas side fouling process on active heat transfer surfaces in tubular heat exchange tube banks installed in waste incineration process plants and also a technical – economic analysis based on obtained results. The model improvement consists among others in taking into account another forces (electrostatic, capillary etc.) haven't yet been considered, which influence the mutual contact between flue gas particles in case of sedimentation fouling or the contact between particles and heat exchanger tube walls respectively. The improved model has therefore more predicative ability to the reality of fouling process. The results are used for technical – economic analysis, which determines an optimal heat exchanger design with respect to fouling. Furthermore, the algorithm of this analysis, essential fouling mechanisms, fouled heat exchanger surface cleaning methods as well as fundamental knowledge of fouling coefficient prediction are presented, whereas the emphasis is placed on industrial tubular heat exchange equipment installed in waste incineration process plants.
Analysis of Ceiling Heating
Carbol, Ladislav ; Plášek, Josef (referee) ; Vendlová, Lucie (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with analysis of radiant ceiling heating in VUT dormitories. The work contains a theoretical analysis of radiant and convection heat transmission of ceiling heating. Part of this work is creation of mathematical model for evaluation of variables typical for radiant ceiling heating. Model outposts are compared with data measured on a real building.
Heat transfer on sprinkled tube bundle
Copek, Tomáš ; Pospíšil, Jiří (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis named Heat transfer on sprinkled tube bundle deals with experimental assesment of heat transfer coefficient on sprikled tube bundle. Its goal is to measure, compare and evaluate values and trends of heat transfer coefficient on external surface according to flow rate of cooling water. Evaluation will be focused on size of pitch between tubes, type of tubes surface and influence of temperature gradient. Measurement was ongoing at atmospheric pressure. Warm water flowing in tube bundle is cooled by cold sprinkling water. Tube bundle consists of ten tubes located horizontaly beneath each other with smooth, grooved or sanblasted surface. Distance between tubes vary from 15 to 35 milimetres. Measurement of two temperature gradients 15-40 and 15-45 (15°C is temperature of sprinkling water in distribution tube; 40°C or 45°C is temperature of water entering the tube bundle) is carried out for each pitch and tube surface.
Non-stacionary thermal field in the nozzle at stream mixing
Vosynková, Jana ; Vincour, Dušan (referee) ; Nekvasil, Richard (advisor)
Nuclear energy is already well known area of energy generation. However, it is necessary to eliminate the potential risks of failure. That places special emphasis on safety in production and operation of nuclear power, especially its primary circuit. This work is focused on thermal damage to the injection nozzle, which is part of the pressurizer in the primary circuit Dukovany plant. The aim was a comparative analysis of two geometries nozzle which were loaded by varying temperature loading trought time and by static preassure loading. Main attention was placed on the thermal shocks in the material.
Heat exchangers for air-conditioning
Pavlíček, Michal ; Jaroš, Michal (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis is divided into 2 parts. The first part deals with classification and characterization of heat exchangers. The sizing process of plate heat exchangers is described and demonstrated in the second part. Obtained results are compared with real plate heat exchanger produced by Güntner Company.
