Visualisation of the flow in the ventilation unit
Šebetka, Kryštof ; Fišer, Jan (referee) ; Pech, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the basics of hydrodynamics. The basic principles and functions of flow visualization are described. Different types of visualizations are also discussed, followed by a list of specific visualization methods that are described in more detail. Another topic is ventilation and air conditioning. The thesis includes a short summary of the historical development of ventilation and air-conditioning and brief information about this industry. General descriptions of the components that are most relevant to the industry are also covered. Then the thesis comes to the experimental part, where is description of the ventilation unit inside which the flow visualization was performed. This is followed by the description of the experiment itself, the aim of which was to perform the flow visualization by the smoke method inside the ventilation unit, the construction of which was gradually modified to make the visualization as simple as possible and as recognizable as possible. The apparatus for the visualization is described, as well as the process of gradual development of the unit, how the different components had to be modified to improve the quality of the visualization. This is illustrated in photographs showing the flow before and after the modifications. The last section describes the process of trying to reduce the pressure losses that occurred between the different components of the ventilation unit, which were measured and compared at different stages of the modifications.
Woodgas cooler
Koláček, Martin ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Lachman, Jakub (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with problematics of designing a cooler suitable for gas produced by gasification of biomass. The current state of knowledge is presented in research part of this thesis. Subsequent design segment contains detailed calculations, design and construction solution of cooler suitable for producer gas. Cooling of gas created by biomass gasification is more problematic than cooling of pure gases or water vapor because producer gas contains many impurities that condense during cooling process and settle inside cooler. Thus, complicating design of effective cooling device. Our motivation for cooling producer gas is increasing its energy density and decreasing its volume. Basic technical documentation of designed cooler is also part of this thesis.
Description of water cooling of the PerformX spectrometer
Hudák, Pavol ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on description of hydraulic components and values of water-cooling system, which is a part of the XRF spectrometer and its performance options. It includes research of some spectrometric analyses used in laboratories, including XRF spectrometry, along with advantages and disadvantages of these analyses. This is followed by research that focuses on fluid flow and its hydraulic losses. It includes division of water-cooling systems and describes in detail the water-cooling system of the XRF spectrometer. Furthermore, the thesis includes a measurement of pressure losses, coolant flow rate and progress of temperatures in the water-cooling system during operation of the device. Based on measured values, processes in the cooling systems have been described and schemes with values have been created. Weak points of the cooling systems were revealed, and possible optimizations of the water-cooling system was suggested.
Design of Cooling and ventilation system in family house
Bíza, Michal ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Pech, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the design of ventilation and cooling for the family house. The first part of the thesis deals with possibilities of ventilation and cooling, air ducts and their components and selected ventilation units. The next part deals with the analysis of air-conditioning routes, their dimensions and pressure losses. Then the heat gain is determined, and cooling is proposed. The last part deals with the comparison of financial costs for purchase of all components for ventilation and cooling, assembly, installation and operating costs. The enclosed drawings and item lists are at the end of the thesis.
Pressure losses in heating systems
Švanda, Martin ; Horká, Lucie (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with pressure losses in heating systems. The diploma thesis is divided into three sections. The first part is theoretical and deals with the occurrence of pressure losses. It discusses the properties of the fluid that affect pressure losses. It also deals with hydrodynamic phenomena, flow distribution, pressure loss distribution and its calculations. The aim of the second part, which is practical, was to create a heating project for a selected object. The object is a two-floor kindergarten building located in Velké Němčice. For this project, two heating variants were created. For the first variant, radiators and heating benches were designed and for the second variant, underfloor heating was installed in the building. The goal was to use a source which will gain heat mainly from renewable sources, so the air / water heat pump was chosen as the source of heat production. The project ends with a technical report. The third part of the thesis is dedicated to an experiment which purpose was to find out how the pressure losses of the connecting pieces are reacting to the change with the change of the heating water conditions (flow, temperature). Alongside, two pipes were created which differed in the type of connecting pieces so it allowed to compare how their pressure losses differ. Both pipes were connected by radial pressing, but the fittings differed in the quality of the brass, and therefore in the construction. Also, part of the experimental section of the diploma thesis is a description of the course of radial pressing of fittings from the Herz company.
Cleaning of ventilation systems and potential energy savings
Lapáček, Milan ; Rubina, Aleš (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is to explore fouling of air ducts and its influence on energy consumption of HVAC systems. The first part focuses on typical parts that create the IAQ in buildings and on evaluating energy consumption of air transportation. The following section deals with the theories of fluid flow, flow regimes and pressure losses that are created as a side effect. The thesis outlines possible methods of assessing the impact of pollution with an emphasis on pressure losses and their influence on the fan power consumption. The actual experimental measurement, conducted in a selected industrial plant, is focused on an influence of cleanness of textile diffuser on HVAC device power consumption. For the further research of this process, measuring equipment with suitable measurement method is designed and constructed.

Molák, Filip ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to describe the process of condensate pumping and problems connected with it. The introductory part is about cavitation and its consequences. In the next part are briefly described types of pumps which are used to pumping condensate and also there is spoken about the selection principles. The last part is dedicated to the selection of a suitable pump according to the specified parameters.
