Feed additives in pig nutrition
KOZINOVÁ, Eliška
Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of pig farming. Each category of pigs is fed by a special compound feed for a given group of animals. New alternatives to these drugs are still being explored due to the 2006 ban on growth-promoting antibiotics. Probiotics, prebiotics and phytobiotics, which have a positive effect on the digestive system of all categories of pigs, are becoming very popular substitutes.

ŠTROBLOVÁ, Petra
Probiotics are your microorganisms that, when properly dosed, support the development and function of microbiots that affect their health. They currently create affordable, biological methods in the prevention and treatment of personal illness. They support the physiological function of the gastrointestinal system, which forms the body's main immune system. The bachelor thesis was focused on the possibilities of using probiotics and their effect on human health. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to compile a questionnaire survey and its request for information of university students in the field of probiotics. The survey found that the awareness of university students is very good, it can be a problem in this problem.
Probiotics and their importance in terms of human health
ŠTROBLOVÁ, Petra
Probiotics are living microorganisms that, when properly dosed, support the development and function of an individual's microbiota, and thus overall health. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to assess the public's awareness of probiotics through a questionnaire survey and to evaluate the offer of probiotic preparations on our market. Of the 551 respondents, the majority (63 %) knew what probiotics are, what effects they have (96 %) and in which food they are most abundant (81 %). The research of the probiotic market found that the offer of these supplements in our market is very wide. A total of 72 synbiotic and 12 probiotic food supplements from 41 firefighters are available.

POLÍVKOVÁ, Denisa
The aim of this study was a brief elaboration of a literature review containing the morphology of the digestive system of calves, the issue of methods of their breeding and feeding, probiotics, prebiotics and phytobotics. The following study aims to confirm the positive effect of probiotic feed additives containing the probiotic strain Lactobacillus Sporogenes on calves. A total of 80 calves were included in the project, divided in half into two groups, control and experimental. Both groups were weighed three times, within two hours after birth and then according to the individuality of the individuals at shifts of an average of 56 and 100 days of age. During breeding, in addition to weight, the general state of health, the frequency of diarrheal diseases. From the evaluation of the collected data, it can be stated that the feeding of probiotic additives containing the Lactobacillus Sporogenes strain has a significant effect not only on the health status but also on the weight gain of calves.

Addition of probiotics to baby food products
Dudrová, Markéta ; Skoumalová, Petra (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
This Diploma thesis deals with preparation of probiotic cultures Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei and Bifidobacterium breve enriched with prebiotics meant for application in baby food products. Natural extracts from matcha, moringa, young beat, young barley, chlorella and spirulina were selected as prebiotics. The theoretical part is focused on probiotic bacteria, their biological effects and their effects on the child´s body. The experimental part deals with the cultivation of probiotic bacteria with plant extracts, monitoring their viability and stabilization in an encapsulated form. Mixtures of probiotic cells with prebiotics were encapsulated into alginate particles to increase stability. Some of the alginate particles were processed by freeze drying. Mixtures of probiotic cultures with plant extracts were subjected to model human digestion by the action of model digestive juices in unencapsulated, encapsulated and lyophilized form. Selected extracts of plant materials were characterized in terms of amount of total and reducing sugars, total phenolic substances, individual phenolic substances and antioxidant activity. Further, two baby commercial dietary supplements containing probiotics were selected, which were characterized in terms of cell number and viability. Probiotic products were also subjected to model digestion.
Probiotics, their influence on health and probiotic food
Hondlíková, Tereza ; Dostálová, Jana (advisor) ; Plocková, Milada (referee)
Probiotics are living microorganisms which show positive effects on human health if consumed in a sufficient quantity. Probiotics have been under a lot of research recently, however their effectiveness in terms of treatment or prevention of diseases has not been supported by a sufficient number of studies and research yet. The thesis summarizes the existing knowledge about probiotics, characterizes individual types of probiotic organisms, describes possible sources of probiotics and their impact on human health. Theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of the concept of probiotics, also describes prebiotics and synbiotics which are closely related to this topic. characteristics of individual groups of probiotics as well as their impact on human health and possible use in the treatment of diseases as a form of biological treatment are also included. Furthermore the sources of probiotics both in the form of foods containing probiotics and in the form of probiotic dietary supplements are described. At the end of the theoretical part, recommendations for receiving and selecting a suitable source of probiotics are summarized. The aim of the practical part was to find out if the general public is aware of probiotics. Questions about preferences in the selection and consumption of...
Changes in microbial colonization of gastrointestinal tract in patients after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Michková, Petra ; Mrázek, Jakub (advisor) ; Kodešová, Tereza (referee)
Introduction: Physiological microflora is characterised by wide diversity. The microbial community is mostly composed of bacteria, but also includes fungi, archaea and viruses. Anaerobic commensal bacteria (Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes) dominate 90% of the colon. The composition and products of the gut microbiota have a significant effect on an individual's immune system, and their interactions may ultimately promote immune tolerance or inflammatory immune response. Blood cell transplantation (HSCT) and its associated standard procedures of conditioning, antibiotic exposure and dietary prophylaxis represent modification and disruption of the gut microbiota leading to the development of some serious post-transplant complications affecting the OS (overall survival) and TRM (treatment related mortality) of patients. Objectives: The aim of this work was to investigate the representation of individual bacterial strains in patients undergoing allogeneic HSCT, as well as the effect of transplantation on the composition and diversity of their gut microbiota. Methods: Stool samples were obtained from 52 patients who underwent an allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant at the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Prague. A cut-off date for the first sample was set for the start of...

Diploma thesis is bearing title Options of production of selected beverages with increased fiber content. Firstly the thesis is processing characteristics of dietary fiber, it also describes individual components of fiber, its effects on human health and its potential utilization in the food industry all is included in the literary research section. Secondly the thesis continues with the experimental part which comprises possibilities of production of fermented and non-fermented beverages with higher content of fiber. Single samples of beverages were analyzed and the total and insoluble fiber content was determined followed up with calculating the soluble fiber content. Then determination of nutrients was supplemented by determinating the sugar using HPLC method. Finally, the produced beverages were subjected to sensory analysis. According to sensor analysis the overall best-rated beverages were those made of oat caramel malt and oat flakes contrary to beverages made of chia seeds and linseeds, which were evaluated as the worst. Furthermore oat-based beverages contains the highest amount of total fiber in comparison with oat beer and rice beverage in which the lowest content of fiber was determined. Complete overview of results of individual determination of fiber in beverages, nutritional parameters and sensory analyzes including ilustrations are presented in practical part of the thesis.
