Optimization of the coagulation procedure for wastewater treatment
Švábová, Martina ; Mravcová, Ludmila (referee) ; Repková, Martina (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the optimization of the determination of the chemical oxygen demand in the test tubes and the optimization of the coagulation process for the external company. COD is one of the basic analysis for all types of water, although there are numerous environmentally-unfriendly agents in case of using a standard version produced. Therefore, an alternative method of using the test tubes was used, the procedure of which has been modified from ČSN ISO 15705 and is now available to the public. The aim was also to optimize the coagulation process in the treatment of wastewater from an industrial paintshop. The minimum dose of coagulating agent occurring in the instructions for usage was disproved and the pH value at which aluminium sulfate as a coagulating agent was proposed.
The Issue of Industrial Wastewater Treatment and its Inclusion in Biology Education
Rychtecká, Karolína ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor) ; Říhová, Dagmar (referee)
The topic of the diploma thesis is "The Issue of Industrial Wastewater Treatment and its Inclusion in Biology Education." The aim of the thesis is to familiarize the reader more deeply with industrial wastewater, to find out how the general population perceives the issue, and specifically to propose and verify in practice how the topic could be included in the teaching of natural history. The work consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part of the work is devoted to the definition of industrial wastewater and its composition. It characterizes selected industrial wastewater and treatment processes that are used to remove pollutants in industrial wastewater. It also marginally touches on the topic of water management in the industry. The chapters of the theoretical part also summarize the impact of wastewater pollution in relation to humans and the environment. The work also includes a section dedicated to legislation related to industrial wastewater treatment. The conclusion of the theoretical part of the work is devoted to teaching methods suitable for the inclusion of the issue of industrial wastewater in teaching at secondary schools. The practical part is devoted to own research to find out the perception of the population about the issue of wastewater treatment and...
Use of recycling membrane technology for industrial waters
Vykydalová, Adéla ; Mergl, Václav (referee) ; Repková, Martina (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the recycling technology of industrial wastewater – more precisely, the laundry industry. The semi-operational pilot unit of ASIO TECH was used for testing this technology. The unit includes membrane processes – ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and flotation process. There were 8 physico-chemical parameters selected for assesing the quality of wastewater and treated water. The tested semi-operational unit is suitable for cleaning laundry wastewater. The purified water can be used in the next washing process or for the water source for the steam generator.
Advances in applied research in the field of remediation of contaminated groundwater and industrial waste water
Kašparová, Johana ; Innemanová, Petra (advisor) ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (referee)
Water pollution is one of the most serious global problems in today's age. Contamination of water disrupts aquatic ecosystems and their surroundings. A major problem for people in some parts of the world is the decreasing availability of drinking water. In order to prevent further pollution, there are laws, mostly in developed countries, that try to protect water resources. Another procedure to reduce pollution is remediation methods. In the Czech Republic there are entities active in environmental protection deal with remediation technologies and inventories of contaminated sites such as state administration bodies, universities, academies of sciences and private entities. One of the projects that deals with research in the field of environmental damage removal is the "Environmental Research Center: Waste and Circular Economy and Environmental Safety" (No. SS02030008). A partial goal of the project is the inventory of available innovative solutions for contaminated sites for the needs of the state administration. As part of the solution of the submitted bachelor's thesis, the possibility of obtaining the necessary data from publicly available databases focused on applied research and development was verified. The theoretical part focuses on the general characteristics and protection of underground...
