Analysis of Water Bodies on Aretin map of Bohemia
Povolná, Lucie ; Čábelka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Bayer, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis dealt with the personality of Pavel Aretin, his map of Bohemia from 1619 and its other editions. The main goal of this work was to analyze the leadership on selected editions of Aretin's map from the funds of the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science, Charles University and the National Archive, to perform a basic content and cartometric analysis. The content analysis was focused on the line and area elements of water on Aretin's maps. Changes in the representation of the waterworks during the four editions of Aretin's map of Bohemia and differences in topography from the present were examined. The content analysis included analyzes of map features and descriptions of water bodies. The cartometric analysis focused on the accuracy of the map layout according to identical points awarded to objects related to the water theme. This analysis was performed in MapAnalyst software.
Metacommunities of the copepods, molluscs and ostracods in Kokořínsko pools on the longterm gradient
Tichá, Adéla ; Juračka, Petr Jan (advisor) ; Šorfová, Vanda (referee)
Re-creation and building new small freshwater habitats belong among the important management activities within the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko - Máchův kraj (Czech Republic) for almost two decades. These pools keep the water within the landscape and serve as the habitats for vulnerable species of amphibians and invertebrates, which I have studied within this thesis. Most studies focusing on studying metacommunities of small water bodies have been based on the data from one or two seasons, and thus completely neglect the development of composition of these metacommunities over longer periods of time. This thesis builds on previous research on the species composition of small ponds in the Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area, which had been done in 2005 and 2006. In 2009 and 2017, sampling in the same ponds continued. I investigated the influence of spatial and environmental variables of individual ponds on the species composition of ostracods, copepods and molluscs in specific years and how has the representation of individual species changed among those years. With one exception, I have not observed any new incoming species of copepods and ostracods since 2006; the number of species had in fact decreased. In the case of molluscs, there was a significant exchange of species between individual...
A report about project DG16P02M032 NAKI II servis performance in 2018
Adámek, Zdeněk
Monitoring of the environment and zooplankton, zoobenthos and fish assemblages of ponds and waterbodies in Czech castle parks was performed. The results were used as a source data for proposals and evaluations of biomanipualtion and biomeliorative measures on selected reservoirs.
Floristicko-ekologická studie oblasti Bystřicka se zaměřením na ekologii zelených volvokálních řas
HNÁTEK, David
Since 1889 twenty-two different species of colonial algae from the order Volvocales have been found in the Czech Republic according to the available algological literature. In this work the morphology and ecology of these species is described in detail. Besides investigating the literature resources, I performed my own floristic research of twenty ponds near Bystřice u Benešova. Phytoplankton samples from these ponds were taken in spring, summer, and autumn of years 2014 and 2015 using phytoplankton net and at the same time the environmental characteristics such as pH, conductivity, water transparency, temperature, and degree of shading were measured. Cyanobacteria and algae in the samples were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level and their relative abundance was assessed. The differences in species composition between ponds and between seasons were compared using basic statistical methods and relationship between environmental factors and species composition was studied.
Vyhodnocení rekonstrukce a údržby nádrží v zemědělské krajině
ČÍŽKOVÁ, Lenka
The thesis deals with problems of water tanks in agricultural landscape. It focuses mainly on their historical development, construction, building elements, maintenance, function and reconstruction. The work also contains a description and information about ponds and their surroundings, the current status of the individual reservoirs and the assessment of the main problems in the Těšínský stream catchment area.
Should there be fishes in the water? - Ecological Educational program on the importance of water bodies without fish
BEČKOVÁ, Andrea
Water reservoir can be found anywhere in the nature. Small ponds without fish are difficult to be found. Biology students, members of biologically interested societies or wider public who is interested in environment can benefit out of these waters to learn more about relations between particular species, water and littoral plants and interactions between ranges of organisms. Fishing and fish farming do not have negligible impact on nutrition and relaxation of humans, but also they do not have negligible impact on life in waters Nowadays, the overly extended fish population is becoming the main problem that is causing fis predation which decimates pond environment. Fishless ponds are very important to provide environment for other aquatic insects and other organisms. It would be beneficial to devote more attention to the fresh water organisms at the school education through education programs or interest workshops and to have sufficient amount of suitable education resources. In this thesis, I describe relationships between organisms in fresh water reservoir, their relations with surroundings, which factors are influencing them and have impact on their occurrence.
The survey of fish stock composition of selected pilot sites
Adámek, Zdeněk
The screening survey of fish stock composition was performed at the pilot sites of future monitoring, namely in the facilities of the Kroměříž Castle (reservoirs and ponds in the garden and park), Lednice Castle (park pond), Ploskovice Castle (park pond), Červené Poříčí (park pond) and Němčice reservoir (flood protection).
Plankton of small village ponds
ČEJNOVÁ, Monika
The object of my thesis was to document the basic characteristics of four small ponds. Register seasonal changes in the occurrence of selected zooplankton groups and compare individual ponds among them. Then evaluate management on ponds and assess the possible impact on the formation of plankton. These results were then compared with the current situation on standard economic ponds. In this study, I observed three private ponds and local pond, which were located in the cadastral area Lodhéřov. From the results it is evident, that the zooplankton development was in private ponds very slow, while at local pond was developed zooplankton quickly. The diversity of zooplankton species was higher in local pond. On private ponds showed a high increase in fish, which amounted to R1 597 kg/ha and R3 519 kg/ha. In terms of management of ponds R2 was the least effective because the gain was only 113 kg/ha. Private ponds, according to the average annual ration 2910 kg/ha still ranked in halfintesification, while local pond to intensification ration with 4557 kg/ha.
Influence of liming to alkalinity pond soil and ANC4,5 of water
KOLEK, Bohuslav
The aim of the master thesis was to assess volume of disposable calcium in the ponds sediments and acid neutralization capacity of water, pH of water, oxygen saturation and zooplankton abundace during vegetation period. Following to the indicators was found out ponds production as well. Studies took place on 6 ponds (Byňovský, Dolní Velký, Kačák, Nakolický, Nový v Oboře, Žár) of company Fyshery New Castles s. r. o. For control was chosen pond Farský which is managed by Czech Fishing Union. Volume of disponable calcium in ponds sediments was transferred with infusion of 0,1 M H2CO3 . Volume of calcium was determined with chelatometric titration method. In 2013 the samples of sediments were collected before vegetation period. During the next season were determined samples of oxygen, ANK4,5 of water, pH of water and zooplankton which was sorted according its size (<500m and >500 m. At all monitored ponds was found out close relation between to volume of Ca2+ in pond sediment and pH of water, ACN4,5 of sediments and also with ACN4,5 of water during vegetation period. The highest average values of ACN4,5 of water were found out on pond Kačák (0,93 mmo.l-1), Žár (1,01 mmol.l-1) and Nový v Oboře (0,83 mmol.l-1), which significantly correlated with reserve of pond calium during dormancy. Was found out significant corelation between total growth of fish and coarse zooplankton. More significant relation was found out between total growth of fish and total abundance of zooplankton but between natural growth of fish and total abundance of zooplankton as well. The highest growths were found out on Ponds (Kačák, Žár), whose samples showed the biggest abundance of zooplankton from all monitored ponds and vice versa it wasn't confirmed relation between ACN4,5 of water during vegatation period and pH of water, abundance of coarse zooplankton and oxygen regime of water.
