Legal regulation of animal welfare

The aim of this thesis is to summarize legal regulation of animal welfare in relation to the Czech Republic and to highlight its potential shortcomings and possible amendments de lege ferenda. Today, humans wield almost unlimited power over living conditions in which animals around the world live in, and so more and more attention is paid to the legal regulation of this area of law. This thesis, which is divided into three main parts, also pays attention to it. The first part contains the analysis of the concept of "animal welfare" and compares it to the concept of "animal protection". It also deals with a brief history of animal welfare and various ways of determination of its level. The second part describes and summarizes legal regulation of welfare, whereas the author proceeds from the international law through European law to national law. With the international law, the biggest emphasis is on the conventions signed under the Council of Europe, while with the European law, the thesis deals first with the primary law and then with the specific acts of secondary law. The most of this part is devoted to the national legal regulation of welfare along with a brief summary of its history. This bachelor's thesis Zoohygienic aspects and frequency of occurrence of various diseases and methods of their treatment in selected zoo contains a literature search describing the welfare of animals, their life in captivity and details of breeding, inc-luding animal diseases and behavioral disorders. It also describes the importance and role of zoos, their distribution and positive and negative aspects. The part of bachelor thesis are animal diseases in connection with visitors i.e. zoonoses and the virus that flew through the world for the first time in 2019. Interactions between animals and visitors are also part of the research.

Welfare and livestock's natural behaviors in zoo. This Bachelor thesis describes and introduction into literature review, animal welfare, small ruminant's basic daily activities and brief summary of the zoo's history. The part of bachelor thesis is ethological observations of behavior in a group of small ruminants in petting zoo Zoopark, Zájezd village o.p.s. Daily activities such as feed intake (fluid intake including), defecation and urination, taxe, standing, playful behavior, social behavior, comfortable behavior, rumination standing or lying, rest and interested visitors were monitored. The interaction among animal and visitor and biting objects such as boots, harness and clothes is a part of interested behavior. It is obvious from the results that animals are rumination lying down or standing up more often and for longer periods with visitors absence.
Legal regulation of veterinary care

Resumé v anglickém jazyce The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyze veterinary care legislation in the Czech Republic, in the European Union and international law. The content of the thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is brief and describes the historical development of veterinary care. The second chapter covers animal welfare. The third chapter deals with international law and veterinary care, which is dominated by agreements concluded by the Council of Europe, the intergovernmental organization. One of the parts of the third chapter focuses on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. The fourth chapter tries to map the sources of law and the institutions of veterinary care in the European Union. One of the parts of this chapter deals with bird flu. The fifth chapter is comprehensive and provides veterinary care description in the Czech Republic. This chapter tries to approach a more detailed explanation of the Veterinary Act, the implementing rules and regulations related to veterinary care. Another section of the thesis consist of an introduction, conclusion, abstract and key words, list of abbreviations, list of sources and supplements.
