Mural paintings in the urban environment on the borderland between Bohemia and Moravia in 16th and beginning of 17th century

Mural paintings in the urban environment in 16th and beginning of 17th century has been rather an ignored topic, however its artistic interpretation and iconographic concept says a lot about the life of residents during Renaissance. The art phenomenon in this work was studied on the borderland between Bohemia and Moravia, currently the place of Havlíčkův Brod, Pelhřimov and Jihlava districts. At the same time, this division facilitated systematic research and listing of surviving paintings. First, the study focuses on the summary of a colourful historical situation in the given place and religious affairs related in particular, but not only to the New Utraquism and Lutheranism which followed up local Utraquist foundations from the Hussite Era. One of the aims of the work is to study the relationship between religion and artistic or iconographic interpretation of paintings. Selected artistic sources related in particular to the graphic works of that time play also important role. This is why other chapters are dedicated to the study of the theory of art of mural paintings, urban houses abroad and in the concerned location, study of sacral interiors within the context of the Saxon environment, and the last chapter deals with the thematic and iconographic study of collected paintings. Language of the Czech Private Correspondence of the Humanist Period

This work is focused on the language of non-beletristic Czech private correspodence originated between 1611 and 1618 and the aim is to describe the occurence, form and function of linguistic phenomena that refer to higher or lower style. Eight letters from The Archive of Matouš Konečný (deposited in Muzeum Mladoboleslavska) were used for analysis. This manuscripts were transliterated and transcribed in order to gain as much information as possible for futher description. The characteristics of examined linguistic phenomena were taken from diachronic literature first and then compared with analysis results. We also made a conclusion about the influence of stylistic factors (writerʼs competence for creating a cultivated linguistic expression, the relationship between writer and addressee, thematic and functional aspects) on achieved standard of style refinement. The social status of members of the Unity of the Brethren in Mladá Boleslav in the early 17th century

The Unity of the Brethren has a rich history in Mladá Boleslav. This thesis focused on the social status of members of the Unity of the Brethren in Mladá Boleslav in the early 17th century. The basic source, from which the research is based, is a part of a unique finding of the Brethren Church correspondence, which had been found in 2006. This is the registra of Boleslav corps Church from the years 1610 and 1611. By the processing and evaluation of entries in these registers is determined by amount of members of the Corps unity and their percentage representation of Bohemian Brethren in the population of the city. The participation of members of the Unity in the administration of the city has been identified according to the data in the indexes and records preserved in the books of the early 17th century. The work also pays attention to the representation of Bohemian Brethren in the leading positions of individual guilds in Mladá Boleslav. The subject of research is also the property status of the members of the Unity corps in Mladá Boleslav. Research found that in 1610 and 1611 members of the Unity corps in Mladá Boleslav were 17 % to 18 % of the population of the city.
