Water park Brno
Krček, Jan ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
Diploma thesis Aquapark Brno is directly connected with the previous specialist course "Sports Center Za Lužánkami Brno". This project dealt was focused on overall concept, architectural and urban study of this area with an emphasis on sports, recreation and relaxation. There was created a zone of predominantly professional sport in the southern part of this area. There were built football and ice hockey stadiums on the newly created terrace/platform. These stadiums are located approximately in the same places as their current (football) or non-existent (hockey) predecessors. The terrace/platform (parking is located under the terrace) continues, and the newly expanded Boby Hotel follows the recreational sports zone with an Aquapark and outdoor sports grounds located behind the existing Tesco shopping centre. There is formed a new park in north of the sports grounds forming a recreational-relaxation zone on the territory of Planýrka. The existing building of a 50 meter swimming pool dominates the area of Aquapark. It was built in 1979 according to the project architect Otakar Oplatek. However this object no longer meets the requirements of today's visitors or athletes. The new building which includes a twenty-five meter tall swimming pool with a background is being added to the existing building. So there is a separable swimming area created here, which can serve both - swimmers and teenagers or professional athletes. There is a good possibility of racing as well. The new building connects eastward to the building of the roofed Aquapark partially hidden beneath the terraces and resting areas. These three through-flowing but mutually separable objects together with the platform define the area of the outdoor aquapark. He is also separate off from the noisy Sportovní street, but it has a sufficient supply of sunlight. In the place of the original children's pool and extension to the places of today's little park in front of the building there is space f
Incidence of microtrauma in the Achilles tendon compared in athletic runners and swimmers using diagnostic ultrasonography
Novotný, Aleš ; Routner, Petr (advisor) ; Katolický, Jakub (referee)
9 ABSTRACT INTRODUCTION: The Achilles tendon is the tendon with the most volume in the human body. It is capable of handling enormous loads, though it can be damaged with overuse. Overloading the Achilles tendon can lead to microtrauma, which can cause the development of Achilles tendinopathy. Diagnostic ultrasonography is used to investigate the incidence of microtrauma of the Achilles Tendon in runners and swimmers and whether there is any kind of correlation between their occurrence and training intensity. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to determine the presence of microtrauma in the Achilles tendon in a group of runners and swimmers using diagnostic ultrasonography. In addition to the observation of microtrauma, this study focuses on finding other Achilles tendon pathologies from overuse in runners and swimmers. This study seeks to increase awareness of the potential of using diagnostic ultrasonography in physiotherapy practice. METHODS: A total of 20 subjects (13 women and 7 men, mean age 22.6 ± 1.16 years) participated in this study. The subjects were divided into two groups of 10 swimmers and 10 runners each. Data collection was carried out at a private outpatient clinic at ALAFIA- RHB s.r.o. located in Parník Policlinic in Černý Most, Prague. The methodology for obtaining the personal data and sports...
Design and verification of an exercise program for swimmers according to the method of Spiral Stabilization of the Spine
LANDAUEROVÁ, Martina
The graduation thesis deals with the design and verification of an exercise program to improve the posture of competitive swimmers in the category of younger adolescents. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the anatomical overview of the skeletal and muscular system, it also deals with the effects of competitive swimming on the musculoskeletal system, the characteristics of compensatory exercises and Spiral stabilization of the spine. Content analysis, synthesis, and standardized test for posture according to Jaroš and Lomíček were used in this graduation thesis. The group of test subjects consisted of 2 boys and 4 younger girls from the Příbram Swimming Club. Based on the results of the initial testing, an exercise program was designed according to the Spiral Stabilization of the Spine method. Subsequently, the 10 minute exercise was applied 6 times per week for 3 months. Afterwards, output testing which was identical to the input testing was performed and changes were compared. Posture was improved in all swimmers examined. The verification of the exercise program can be considered successful. This thesis can serve as a base for swimming coaches in determining compensatory exercises.

Selected characteristics of the mobility in adolescent swimmers
LANDAUEROVÁ, Martina
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the mobility of the backbone, the condition of flat foot and the basic anthropological characteristics of adolescent swimmers. The research participated 36 boys aged 15-18 from swimming group of South Bohemian Region. The basic somatic proportions like body weight, body height, circumference proportions (of right arm, abdomen, sides and right thigh) and skinfolds (above biceps, triceps, subscapular, suprailiac and on the thigh) were selected from the detected values. The Body Mass Index was calculated from the values of body weight and height. The results of the basic body characteristics of our group of adolescent swimmers and the referential group of adolescent hockey players are not significantly different from the results of participants of Czechoslovakian gymnastic performance in 1985. Compared to the group of adolescent hockey players, statistically highly significant differences in values were detected in BMI and skinfolds above triceps, subscapular and suprailiac in favor of hockey players. The bachelor thesis also deals with the evaluation of the mobility of the backbone and flat foot. From the tests that evaluate the backbone mobility were selected: symptom of Stibor, symptom of Otto, symptom of Schober, symptom of Cepoj, the test of lateroflex, the scarf test and modified symptom of Thomayer. The most interesting tests of the backbone are symptom of Stibor and symptom of Otto in forward bend. In these cases, the swimmers achieved better results than hockey players. Hockey players achieved better results in the scarf test.
