Process pipeline design
Motyka, Ondřej ; Babička Fialová, Dominika (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the description of each areas and activities in designing pipeline routes for process equipment, that the designer or constructor has to propose properly and appropriately. First part of this bachelor thesis is focused on the theoretical knowledge and necessary knowledge for the design of a functional route for process equipment. Also, more detailed description of the designing the pipeline can be seen in the first part, such as pipe gripping, thermal expansion, corrosion and pipe insulation. The practical part will deal with the individual steps in creating a project according to the task from engineering organization and creating drawing documentation using the available software. The aim is to describe the procedure for working with this software and the subsequent introduction of this knowledge into the practical design of pipeline routes.
Geopolitical Rivalry in Central Asia and Turkmenistan's power as a weak state
Welsink, Emma ; Šír, Jan (advisor) ; Horák, Slavomír (referee)
Thesis abstract: Geopolitical Rivalry in Central Asia and Turkmenistan's power as a weak state Charles University, Institute of International Studies, MAS programme 2019 Emma Welsink English Abstract Research on weak states and their position in the international system has been a widely discussed topic for decades, especially in relation to the Cold War bipolar system that revolved around Russia and the United States as great powers. Yet what is lacking is a contemporary analysis that concentrates on the current multipolar system in which the importance of economic alliances and power surpass military power, and how this affects weak states' foreign policy behavior and trade opportunities. This research therefore offers an empirical analysis on great power geopolitical competition between Russia and China over Turkmenistan's economic allegiance, specifically regarding its natural gas export, and seeks to explain how this geopolitical competition has affected Turkmenistan's foreign energy policy behavior as a weak state vis-á-vis these great powers. Additionally, this research seeks to examine how Turkmenistan has even instrumentalized this competition to further its national interest of energy export diversification. More specifically, this research shows that great power competition has played a...
Determination of mechanical and fracture mechanical properties for high pressure gas pipelines (line no. 154 and 223 - DN 500, line 113 - DN 200
Gajdoš, Lubomír ; Šperl, Martin
Determination of mechanical and fracture mechanical properties include analysis of the critical crack dimensions for specific gas pressure and pipe segment.
The study alternatives village sewer system Kamenný Malíkov
Rőssová, Markéta ; Raček, Jakub (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the possibilities of drainage of waste water and its subsequent liquidation in the village of Kamenný Malíkov. The aim of this diploma thesis is the elaboration of variant solutions for drainage of Kamenný Malíkov. Furthermore, the proposal for wastewater treatment, the economic comparison of variants and the recommendation of the unsuitable variant. The diploma thesis deals with the proposal of predominantly gravitational way of drainage of waste water in combination with the pressure, due to incline terrain in the village. Each eventuality has wastewater treatment method designed.
Operational efficiency of boilers
Doležal, Lukáš ; Adam, Pavel (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the operational efficiency of heat sources. The work had several goals. The first was to determine the efficiency of the wood boiler according to available calculation methods and to compare the methods among them. The second was to determine the difference in the performance of the flue gas analyzer and the real calculation. Further, to determine the efficiency of a boiler firing different wood species - spruce and hornbeam based on their properties and elemental composition. Experimental measurement of various operating states of effectiveness took place in an older two-generation family house, which was also the subject of the project part. Due to lack of project documentation, it was necessary to focus and plot the object. Afterwards, the building was thermally inspected and the design of the heating system and the reconstruction of the whole heating system was carried out. The project was developed in two variants for two different heat sources - a heat pump and a solid fuel boiler for heating and water preparation. The thesis deals with the technical report, the conceptual solution of the related professions, the evaluation of the heat source variants and the project documentation.
A New Generation of an IPFIX Collector
Huták, Lukáš ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Wrona, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis addresses processing of flow monitoring records from a point of view of an IPFIX collector. It analysis the current solution of the modular collector, which went through considerable historical development, and focuses on revealing its strengths and weaknesses. Based on acquired knowledge, a new collector is designed. The new solution, which significantly modifies individual components for processing of flow records, focuses on high throughput and adds missing functionalities. The document also compares performance of both generations and the new collector clearly dominates.
Sanitary installations and gas pipeline in the building for living
Zálešák, Adam ; Vrána, Jakub (referee) ; Vaščáková, Alena (advisor)
This Bachelor´s thesis deals with design sanitation installation and gaspipeline in object for housing. It is a object for housing with three floors and basement. The theoretical part is focused on the rainwater and rainwater managment. The computational part and project includes a proposal sanitary and storm sewer, water supply system, gaspipeline and their connection to the current pipes.
Heating and hot water preparation of recreation center
Hakl, Jaroslav ; Horká, Lucie (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
Content of this bachelor thesis is heating and hot water preparation of recreation centre in the village Ostužná, district Jeseník. Object have 2 above-ground floors. Ground floor is mainly used to meet people in play room or in common room. First floor is situated six accommodation units with private bathroom and toilet. Technical facilities are situated in ground floor and is consists of boiler room and the adjacent fuel storage. For heating is primary used grasifying boiler. Secondary source for hot water preparation is solar systém, that is supplemented by an electric heater in the absence of sunshine. Heating systém is in horizontal double-pipe version with distributor and collector in each floor. The Individual branches on the distributor and collector connected are sections of a single accommodation unit, that can be individually regulated. Radiators are designed as boards in the VK design.
Underground Gas Storages
Flodr, Jan ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
Natural gas is one of the main energy resources in the world. In case of countries without their own resources, it is very important how and where from they import this raw material and whether they utilize it effectively. The aim of this thesis is to describe the supply of the Czech Republic concerning natural gas and underground gas storage.
Strength calculation of pipe junction
Dohnal, Milan ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Létal, Tomáš (advisor)
The master thesis focuses on the strength calculation of piping with extra consideration given to the local effects of thermal loads. To be recognized as properly functioning, the piping is required to withstand the expected operating conditions in order to enable the continuous transport of the working fluid within the interconnected devices. It is imperative to take into consideration the variable thermal load in the area where the individual pipe branches connect into the main transmission piping. A major part of the thesis is concerned with the assessment of the expected workload influence on the most stressed parts of the system. The data are gathered by employing temperature and stress-strain analyses carried out in the ANSYS Mechanical program using the finite element method. The values based on the analyses are cross-checked with both the permitted values according to the ASME standard B31.3 Process piping and the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code stress categorization method. Since all the evaluated stresses are below their respective permissible values, the piping strength is concluded as satisfactory according to the standards.
