The history of physical education and sport in unions of the Metoděj region of Orel association
ŠPINAR, Matěj
This Bachelor thesis deals with the processing of the history of physical education in the units of Methodius County of the Eagle Society from the beginnings of the formation of specific units to the present day. The first Christian social gym union was informally established at the beginning of the last century. The greatest development was achieved by the Eagle between the two world wars. Members of the Eagle have been the victims of repression on several occasions, and the association has been repeatedly suspended in its existence. Methoděj's County, which is based in Bystřice pod Pernštejn, was originally created under the name Horácká County. Its patron saint is Saint Methodius, co-patron of Europe, creator of Slavic writing and, above all, bearer of Christianity. Currently, the county continues its physical activity.
The history of physical education and sport in unions of the Kosmák region of Orel
DOLÁK, Jan
The bachelor's thesis deals with the history of physical education and sport in Kosmák County Orel. Kosmák County was established by agreeing to the division of West Moravian County at the General Congress of the Czechoslovak Eagle on July 31, 1947. The named county is based in Znojmo and the individual units are from the Znojmo region. However, the activities of this county were stopped by the communist regime. After many years under the communist regime, the county was successfully restored on January 1, 1996. In the individual phases after the restoration, unities were formed, but they did not survive on the Eagle scene and ceased their activities. Kosmák County now has 6 units: Mramotice, Pavlice, Přeskáče, Únanov, Vémyslice and Znojmo. The work further clarifies the life of the county patron Václav Kosmák. Secondly, it focuses on the course of Orel's activities from the beginning to the present and describes the personality of Orel's physical education, Jan Šrámek.

The YMCA came into being in England but it particularly flourished in the United States of America. During the First World War, Czechoslovak and Polish soldiers were given a taste of their activity, being accompanied home by members of this in- ternational association after the war had ended. Following requests from military and political leaders of the time, the American YMCA sent its secretaries to the newly established Czechoslovakia and renewed Poland to help establish the first local associations. It was particularly due to them that new practically unknown sports, were introduced to the region. In addition, in both Czechoslovakia and Poland, the YMCA also took responsibility for having new physical education fa- cilities built, improving training methods and generally enhancing young people through sport. During the inter-war years, local YMCA groups and their mem- bers performed exceptionally well in a number of sporting disciplines and ranked among the top Czechoslovak and Polish athletes. Furthermore, the YMCA con- tributed to establishing the tradition of permanent...
