This work is dealing with the design for maintaining and monitoring optimal temperature for home-based data center. The purpose of this work is to prolong the life of hard drives in data center for as long as possible. First of all, the attention is given to establishing what the optimal temperature for maintaining long-live of hard drives is and how to correctly measure it. Based on the knowledge obtained from theory and from the prototype testing the final design of embedded system for maintaining this function is created.

Multimedia player of non-compressed audio data and images

The work deals with hardware and software design of standalone audio player for uncompressed format. Designing device will ensure the connection and operation of the hard drive, browse the directory and files, display bitmap images and play audio records. Next parts of player are also a graphic equalizer and audio power amplifiers for speakers or headphones. A certain complexity of the system is given a relatively high bitrate of uncompressed audio and the need to continuously control of the periphery.

Security of data stored on the hard disk

This work is dedicated to the security of data stored on the hard drive of your computer and using encryption. The first part explains the basic concepts of cryptography and describes her in history. In other chapters, this work is dedicated to a description of the side channels and attacks on these channels. How can the attacker obtain information from a cryptographic module. The following section describes the types of encryption they use nowadays and what are their weaknesses. Bachelor thesis continues with examples of individual encryption programs and device ICZ Protect Boot. The last part deals with resistance testing on equipment ICZ Protect Boot. Testing of resistance to flow analysis using a side channel. Finally, bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of communication between the computer and ICZ Protect Boot.

Thesis offers options for changes to make process more optimal. Thesis points to the solution of a central data backup in which all created data will be backed up automatically. Thesis also describes theoretical resources and other options to manage data inside the company.

This Bachelor thesis focuses on creating centrally managed application, which will be deployed on client’s laptops and workstations of all employees of Danaher Motion s.r.o. company in Brno. Its main purpose is to automatically backup email archives of Microsoft Outlook application represented by PST data files to a network storage equipped by hard drive fault-tolerant system called RAID. The application is created in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition C# environment.
