Cross-Curricular subjects in the teaching of mathematics at primary school

The diploma thesis presents the possibility of involving personal and social education, media education, environmental education, education towards thinking within European and global contexts, education of democratic citizen and multicultural education in the teaching of mathematics at secondary school. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of this defines the concept of cross-curricular subjects, lists the ways of involvement in teaching, characterizes the individual cross-curricular subjects, including their inclusion in the educational area of Mathematics and its applications and their inclusion in current mathematics schoolbooks. It also describes the teaching methods used in the practical part. The practical part is focused on activities in the area of Mathematics and its applications, including cross-curricular subjects in various stages of the conceptual process. Each activity contains a methodology of work, worksheets are also inserted here. The last chapter contains an evaluation of the benefits of activities in practice.
Personality and social education and its influence on the classroom climate

This work is focused on the topic of school class climate and its enhancement by the methods of personality and social education in a concrete class where the author is working as a teacher. The theoretical part is dedicated to the class climate and its characteristics. It describes what influences, by which methods it can be investigated and what can it be influenced by. In the practical part the author uses the methods of the teacher's active research to investigate the climate in her own class and also self-reflexively examines herself from the view of the beginning teacher. During the time period of one school year continually monitors the climate in her class and states the most effective ways towards improvement. The results of the research show that the methods of personality and social education have an influence to the class climate if they are used in a natural and casual manner. Prevention of bullying in elementary schools through personal and social education

This thesis is focused on the prevention of bullying through personality and social education courses Projekt Odyssea in elementary school. The goal of this work is to determine how pupils, educators and school leaders perceive the courses Projekt Odyssea and whether preventive courses have impact on collectives of individual classes. Data was obtained from interviews with pupils, teachers, school management and the questionnaire survey with pupils. Questionnaires detect the climate of individual classes, relationships between pupils in the classroom, or how students perceive community circles and classes Projekt Odyssea. The results of the research show a positive effect of classesProjekt Odyssea on the personality and social development of pupils. The effect of courses of personality and social education positively promotes good relationships between pupils themselves, between pupils and teachers and this is benefit to the overall school climate.

The diploma thesis "Cross-Curricular topics in the teaching of mathematics at primary schools" describes possible ways of involving personality and social education, education of a democratic citizen, education towards thinking in European and global contexts, multicultural education, environmental education and media education in primary school mathematics. The thesis is divided into a theoretical, practical and an evaluative section. The theoretical part of this thesis analyses domestic and foreign findings on cross-curricular topics, outlines the historical development of the curriculum in relation to this issue and characterizes the educational area of "Mathematics and its application RVP ZV". It further focuses on interconnecting particular cross-curricular subjects with mathematics and examines their integration in current mathematics schoolbooks. The practical part contains proposals of activities (methodical activity sheets) connecting the area of "Mathematics and its application" with cross-curricular topics. It further presents organizational teaching forms and work methods used in activities including their descriptions. The last part evaluates the application of the activities in practice in terms of the development of pre-assigned mathematical skills and knowledge and the involvement of thematic units of cross-curricular topics.
