Estimation and analysis of speech signal periodicity
Malucha, Jan ; Poměnková, Jitka (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
Theoretical part starts with a short introduction to speech signals and short time analysis method. Concept of periodicity is clarified. This is followed by analysis of the speech signal parameters - voiced/unvoiced classification, intonation and short time period similarity. Next the overview of methods used to analyze the mentioned parameters together with concepts of their algorithms is provided. These methods include ZCR, STE, HNR, ACF, NCC, AMDF and DTW. Algorithms using the methods with supporting preprocessing algorithms were programmed in MATLAB for practical part. All were tested on real speech signals and the results are discussed at the end of the thesis.
Speech signal processing in time domain
Marko, Ján ; Staněk, Miroslav (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
The bachelor´s project deals with the processing of speech signals. The work includes a search of available publications on the issue of determining the voiced segments of speech and fundamental frequency. Attention is devoted to methods for speech recognition features in the time domain. Comparing theoretical and practical results on the real speech signals evaluates the use of methods, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.
Photonic crystal fibers
Dočkal, Martin ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
This graduation thesis deals with use of unconventional optical fiber with the intention of photonic crystal fiber. There are described types of photonic crystal fiber, their physical, optical and transfer characteristics. There is explained what are the photonic crystals, principle of their function and possible types of crystals. There are also detailed types of photonic fiber commonly used in the optical fiber branch. There is also explained photonic crystal fiber its structure a hierarchy of its types. In this thesis are described and demonstrated different kinds of photonic optical fiber and their use. There is demonstrated principle of one-dimensional periodical structure of Bragg fiber using simulation software. There can be seen graphical comparison of the simulated optical fiber core to commonly obtainable fiber. Outcome of this graduation thesis should be explanation of function of photonic crystal fiber and possibility of finding new type of fiber with optimal dispersion characteristics for use in fiber optics.
Generic Flow Analysis in Computer Networks
V této práci představujeme metodu charakteristiky síťového provozu z pohledu obsahu komunikace i chování v čase.
In this study, the relationship between personality traits and daily activity of Common voles (Microtus arvalis) was investigated. Thirty four voles were captured for tests from the wild and kept separately under stable light (L:D, 12:12) and ambient temperature (19 ? 1 oC) laboratory conditions. Voles were subjected to Open Field (OF) tests to determine their personality traits on locomotor activity and shy-bold gradients. They were then monitored in the PhenoTyper boxes, where their activity was recorded for seven days. In this thesis, it was found that more locomotor active and bold individuals in the OF test are also more active in the PhenoTyper box, are more prone to periodicity and regular ultradian rhythms, and have more activity in the dark. Shy individuals are often immobile (most often in the dark), which weakens the periodicity of their ultradian rhythms. Thus, greater boldness in the common vole leads to greater nocturnal activity, and shyness rather to greater nocturnal immobility. The personality traits were associated with daily activity, periodicity, and ultradian rhythms.
Seasonality and periodicity in time series
Musil, Karel ; Jonáš, Petr (advisor) ; Cipra, Tomáš (referee)
This work deals with periodicity and seasonality in time series. After a time series periodicity topic is introduced, a seasonal component of time series and a seasonal adjustment is presented. Then basic approaches, used in current practice, are introduced. These are classic model approach, Box-Jenkins methodology, and spectral analysis. The described seasonal adjustment techniques are applied to the time series of the Czech import, export, and foreign trade balance. A brief description of potential problems, which are connected to the seasonal adjustment and are common in practice, is a part of the example as well.
Advanced Estimation Of Speech Signal Periodicity
Malucha, Jan
This study examined the use of methods for advanced estimation of speech signal periodicity. The speech parameters of jitter, schimmer and short time period similarity were briefly explained as well as their estimation with appropriate methods, all of them integrated into a compact MATLAB program. The practical use of the program was demonstrated on the analysis of a stressed and neutral speech signal and achieved results were presented at the end of the study.
Continued fractions with prescribed period
Kuděj, Martin ; Kala, Vítězslav (advisor) ; Francírek, Pavel (referee)
This thesis concerns continued fractions of quadratic irrationals. Their basic properties are shown, including mentioning necessary theory to do this. Then, this theory is used to find the form of continued fractions of square roots of positive nonsquare integers and their symmetric part (a1, . . . , ak). Next, for a given symmetric sequence of positive integers (a1, . . . , ak), we find all natural numbers N, whose square root has a continued fraction with symmetric part (a1, . . . , ak). These positive N will be described as values of a certain quadratic polynomial, whose properties are studied as well in the thesis. 1
