Zemene, Weronika
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of the genus Iris in urban space. The first part mentions the theoretical basis for the problems of greenery in cities and the approach of the genus Iris from the perspective of horticultural classification. These findings were followed by a practical part, where the aim was to monitor and compare selected plantings in the cities of Ostrava and Hlučín. a total of 6 habitats were elected, where selected groups of garden irises have been planting, namely a group of bearded irises – IB and groups of beardless irises – SPEC, SPEC-X, JI and SIB. Plantings have been established gradually from September 2017 to September 2020. In the practical part, a soil survey was performed on model sites, a comparison of hydrometeorological data from the nearest hydrometeorological station CHMU Ostrava-Poruba from the beginning of each planting and a comparison of spring development of irises in selected sites. The results of the bachelor thesis show us that the observed groups of irises, due to their conditions, are suitable for planting in the cities. The last part is based on the transfer of theoretical findings into practice.
Hodnocení vybraných vlastností trvalek pěstovaných z přímého výsevu
Šikulová, Magdalena
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of nature-like vegetation with a narrower focus on perennials with a higher aesthetic value grown from direct sowing. The aim of this work was to participate in an ongoing experiment, which was established in the Mendeleum area. The purpose of this experiment was to verify the properties of 100 taxa of perennials, which are potentially suitable for the formation of directly sown vegetation. The work evaluates the ability of perennials to self-seed (spring 2020) and properties extending the attractiveness outside the flowering period (autumn and winter 2020/2021), ie structure, texture, ornamental seedpods, or seed heads and ability to stay evergreen. Based on the observations, summary tables with results were prepared.

Furthermore, the thesis was focused on the occurrence and use of the period range in the selected period. The period assortment was further compared with the offer of current growers. Based on partial results, the taxa that were offered and used in the first half of the 20th century and are part of the growers’ assortment to this day were evaluated.

Zimová, Tereza
The diploma thesis deals with perennial vegetation established by direct seeding technology. The first thesis part is dedicated to the review of perennial herbs usage in urban environment, the perennial sowing mixtures composition, their establishment, maintenance and currant market availability in Czech Republic. Further in the thesis the evaluation methodology has been established, which is divided to four parts: 1) realization and maintenance of an analyzed site 2) attractiveness evaluation of flowering during a season 3) the sawing mixture evaluation 4) the current state evaluation. The methodology was applied to twelve chosen sites located in the South Moravian, Olomouc and Zlin regions. In majority grass-herb mixtures were used. Perennial mixtures with higher esthetic value has not been almost used in Czech Republic. The thesis outcomes are structured to the list of recommendations for on-site practical realizations together with an inventory of species that are long flowering, fast reseeding, reseeding several times during a season and being dominating in the site.

Novotná, Marie
The thesis deals with the solution of the garden with an emphasis on the sale of flowers. The task of this space is to introduce visitors to the issue of working with plants and their properties, especially compositional ones. Another more important task is the thoughtful sale of the offered assortment of plants. The visitor should take not only information about working with plants from the garden, but also the plants themselves, which are presented in the space in various sales combinations. An essential part of any such area is the program offered to visitors, which is aimed at all generations. The garden is adapted to visitors for longer stays, because of providing a restaurant, playground or space to relax. The garden is solved at the level of the study and 3 selected vegetation elements are developed at the level of project documentation for the construction. The surrounding landscape is processed only in the form of a concept.

The subrural catalogue
Malínková, Markéta ; Fabián, Ondřej (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma project deals with the construction of the catalogue houses on the outskirts of villages. In addition to the term suburban, the term subrural is introduced, which describes and names this type of construction. At the same time, the project examines the influence of advertising catalogues on the aesthetics of subrural gardens and the activities performed on them. The work comes with a proposal for an alternative subrural locality in the village of Příkazy near Olomouc. Thanks to the minimization of plots, the labor is also minimized and at the same time space is freed for public orchard running through the entire territory. This creates a diffusion of development into the agricultural landscape and on a smaller scale it creates a spectacular space around private gardens. Prefabricated bricks from hobby markets form the architectural expression of the project. From these elements are assembled objects and fragments of fences located in the landscape. At the same time, the fragments form a newly compiled catalogue, according to which inhabitants build their fences.
