Želinská, N. Part-time work in the Czech Republic. Comparison with selected EU countries. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the current state of part-time employment on the Czech labour market, to identify trends and, on the basis of this, to make recommendations for more effective use of this form of employment. Comparison of the current situation with selected EU countries-Italy, Germany and Sweden, which serves to identify the specifics according to which recommen-dations will be selected.

The diploma thesis is devoted to mapping the needs of a selected company in the field of reconciliation of work-life balance. In the first part it is devoted to theoretical research of the topic and setting the theoretical background for the given situation. The subsequent analysis focusing on the internal environment examines the attitudes of employees and the company itself towards the issue of parents at work. The thesis then draws conclusions from the two previous parts and proposes solutions for the selected company.
Atypical Forms of Employment

The thesis deals with atypical forms of employment, from their definition, through legal regulation to their use in practice. Atypical employment is a highly topical issue in labour law. This is confirmed by the development in the European Union countries, where an increasingly clear shift from the typical employment relationship model to atypical forms of employment can be observed. Atypical employment can be a tool to promote higher employment rate, flexible adaptation to the requirements of the labour market and reconciliation of work and family life. The thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters systematically divided into subchapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the development of labour law in the Czech Republic. The second chapter deals with labour law in the sense of its concept, subject and position in the legal system. The core part of the thesis is its third chapter, which deals with selected atypical forms of employment regulated by the Czech legal system. Legal status of persons taking care of children in the labor market This dissertation deals with the legal status of persons taking care of children with respect to their participation in the labor market. The dissertation provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal status of these persons, focusing especially on the employees' work-life balance. The dissertation deals in particular with the issues of working conditions of pregnant women, breastfeeding employees and employed mothers in the period of nine months after childbirth, and employees taking care of a child. The dissertation analyses the legal regulations of individual labor law institutes in relation to person taking care of children such as part-time work. The dissertation analyses atypical employment relationships resulting from the need to care of a child. In addition to providing an analysis of the current legislative framework, the dissertation also deals with contemporary case law, in particular the judicial decisions concerning part-time work. The dissertation describes overlaps with other areas of law, i.e. social security law and tax law, and identifies new trends such as the development of childcare services, in particular for children under three years of age, and process getting shorter parental leave resulting from changes...

Práce na zkrácenou pracovní dobu v SRN: Part-time work in the FRG

Práce na zkrácenou pracovní dobu (Kurzarbeit) je účinný nástroj, který pomáhá podnikům zvládnout konjunkturální výkyvy a problémy spojené s dočasným výpadkem práce. Místo propouštění mohou zavést práci na zkrácenou pracovní dobu. Část výdělku hradí zaměstnancům v tomto případě Spolková agentura práce (tj. spolkový úřad práce) formou podpory při práci na zkrácenou pracovní dobu (Kurzarbeitergeld). To pomáhá zaměstnavatelům rychle snížit mzdové náklady a zároveň udržet pracovní místa.
