Architectural study of the sacred building and the Salesian community center in Brno - Líšeň
Jakubíková, Kateřina ; Boháč, Ivo (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
This final thesis deals with a design of an architectural study of a religious building and a community center for the Salesians in Brno-Líšen. Local Salesians have their Salesian center here adjacent to the discussed plot. They have been devoted to youth education for thirty years, following the example of their founder Don Bosco. However, they lack suitable spaces for conducting church services, meeting with worshippers, and other related activities. The architectural study deals with the design of The Church of the Holy Spirit with facilities for worshippers, which addresses the problem of a suitable spiritual place for church services. The complex is divided into three parts. The main feature of the design is the oval-shaped Holy Spirit church, which is intended to stand out and, at the same time, have a clean and positive impact on the surrounding slab blocks. Cleanliness and delicacy reflect into the interior of the church as well, where a white oval space and a monumental stained-glass window in the presbytery cast colorful reflections, creating an oasis for the soul and body. The oval-shaped church is composed of a central oval, in which the main space of the church for conducting church services for 400 worshippers is located, with a second oval that surrounds it and includes auxiliary functions for the church's operation, such as a sacristy, a room for parents with children, technical facilities, or a choir rehearsal room with the main organ in the second floor. The community center and the parish office form a single unit, symbolically linked by a courtyard. Together they form an L-shaped floor plan and their cubiform building contrasts with the oval dominance of the church. The community center directly adjoins the church from the north, providing hygienic facilities and a social hall for leisure activities such as religious education or meetings for worshippers. The parish office is a two-floor building, with technical facilities on the ground floor, a guest room with a bathroom, and a shared kitchen for the priest with an entrance to the courtyard, where they can spend time undisturbed. The second floor is purely private, housing the Salesians and their private chapel. The surrounding of the church is designed for both worshippers and the general public to rest, walk, and enjoy the green spaces with trees and benches for relaxation and enjoying the views of Brno and the distant Pálava. Visitors can walk the Stations of the Cross, which are part of the southern facade of the church in the form of stained-glass windows, or use the outdoor presbytery for church services and other events. Admirers of bells can be attracted by the hung bells on the southwest wall of the church, which will invite them to the church services.

PIVOŇKOVÁ, Alena
The aim of this thesis was to create a catalog of manuscripts and prints of the parish library near the church of St. Vojtěch in Prague - New Town. The work is divided into several chapters. These individual chapters are briefly introduced in the introduction. The introduction is followed by a chapter dealing with the literature and sources used. The next two subsequent chapters both deal with the history, firstly of the originator of the book fund, i.e. the history of the St. Vojtěch parish (it is supplemented by an overview of the parish priests and chaplains) and then of the library itself. The fifth chapter then explains how the catalog was created and informs about the total number of manuscripts and prints in the library. The entire sixth chapter is devoted to the analysis of the book collection and is divided into 10 subsections according to the aspects of this analysis. The first examines the time of creation of the parish books, the second examines the content (theme) of the books, the third examines the language used, the fourth contains listed places of publication and printing, the fifth and sixth include information about the printers and publishers of all prints, the seventh mentions the illustrations contained in the parish books, and the eighth examines the bindings of the books. The conclusion tries to evaluate the set goals. A list of sources and literature, and finally a catalog of the parish library are also attached. Office of the vicar at the turn of the century (17901821)
BEČVÁŘ, Stanislav
The diploma thesis deals with a statistical study of two books of protocols in the office of the vicar episcopal in Pelhřimov. They both cover the period from 1750 to 1831. It is focused on the time when Vincenc Josef Rubricius from Nová Cerekev was in the office of the vicar episcopal. In 1790 he became a vicar episcopal and stayed in his office for three decades until the time of his death in 1821. Thanks to his diligence and precision in maintaining the official agenda and the long-term work in the office of the vicar episopal, it was possible to perceive the studied time period as a coherent unit. Such a notation in the book of protocols was an evidence about the official acts. The statistical data about the number of the notations are described in the diploma thesis in 32 chapters, each of them for a particular year. It studies the number in the particular months, weeks as well as days. Due to this, it monitors the number of the official acts, e. g. with the consistory in České Budějovice, the other parish offices belonging to the vicariate, the Regional Authority in Tábor or the deanery in Pelhřimov. Even the visitations in particular parish offices were noted down into the books of protocols. Owing to these notations, it was possible to describe into details how the visitations were carried out during a particular year.
