Establishment of the graphic interface for firewall using Qt4 framework
Štefany, Martin ; Jelínek, Mojmír (referee) ; Matocha, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design an application, which will serve as a~graphical interface to the terminal application iptables. iptables is an application which uses the Netfilter framework for managing firewall in operating system GNU/Linux. Graphical interface is a~way how to raise a~comfort of firewall configuration and management, because user doesn't have to remember all of the commands and graphical interface also shows him actual structure and contents of the firewall in a~tree view. Thesis describes format and options of the commands and also the firewall structure and its function in Linux. Designed application is written in C++ language using aspects of object oriented programming and uses Qt4 framework. Qt4 is a~great framework for creating graphical user interfaces, brings a~lot of new classes and methods and extends programmer's possibilities during designing graphical or terminal applications for lots of platforms. Thesis also includes a~manual to designed graphical interface, to the application qIPtables, which user can use to learn the basics of using this application and firewall management.
Network Flow Classification Using Look-Up Processor
Blaho, Juraj ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This work is about the design and the implementation of the software that is intended to configure the look-up processor used for an IPv4 and IPv6 packet classification. This work describes the algorithms used for the transformation of a user defined ruleset into the hardware configuration. The main goal is to set up the hardware acclerated filter called NIFIC which is based on a personal computer and the powerful acceleration card COMBO6. Performed tests show that it is possible to filter multi-gigabit network flows by using this developed software.
Software Model of a Firewall
Švec, Michal ; Tobola, Jiří (referee) ; Puš, Viktor (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with stateless packet filters and packet classification algorithms. The main task is to implement a software firewall and measure the speed of packet classification. The implemented classifier uses the Perfect Hash Classification Algorithm. The classifier is implemented in several versions. The C language is used for classifier implementation, Python language is used to create auxiliary data structures. The C language was chosen because of its speed.
HelenOS packet filter
Buchar, Jan ; Děcký, Martin (advisor) ; Horký, Vojtěch (referee)
Packet filtering is an essential feature of any operating system that aims to function as a network router or gateway. This thesis aims to extend the HelenOS operating system to support this functionality. We analyze packet filters present in modern operating systems and implement a HelenOS service that provides a configurable and extendable packet filter. We also modify the HelenOS networking stack so that it allows an arbitrary service to function as a packet filter. We demonstrate the extendability of our implementation on a basic variant of the NAT mechanism. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
