Gigabit Passive Optical Network Analysis
Mižička, Vladislav ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
Cílem této práce je konfigurace vysokorychlostního paketového analyzátoru Endace, konfigurace zařízení gigabitové pasivní optické sítě (GPON) a následná analýza zachycených dat. Aplikace vyvinutá s pomocí jazyka Python podporuje příjem a zpracování dat. Výstup analýzy by měl být v rámci možností co nejpodrobnější s popisem významu jednotlivých položek.
Ethernet for metallic cables
Víteček, Aleš ; Člupek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis "Ethernet for Metallic Cables" deals with the analysis of Ethernet technology, the most used technology for running computer networks. Specifically, it is focused on transmission via metallic line. The aim of this thesis is description of technology, research of the latest Ethernet standards, including the latest categories of metallic lines. Laboratory tasks and its implementation are described below. This thesis also contains a detailed lab instructions and reference values.
Hardware Acceleration of Analysis and Header Field Extraction
Polčák, Libor ; Tobola, Jiří (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This work deals with packet analysis and processing for high speed networks using FPGA. Model of the analysis and hardware architecture have been proposed. Protocols can be specified in XML. Automated tool is able to convert this specification to VHDL. As mul- tiple bytes and protocol headers are processed within one clock cycle simultaneously, the proposed unit is able to handle packet processing on 10 Gbps speed and higher.
Hardware Acceleration of Header Field Extraction
Polčák, Libor ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
Most network devices need to obtain specific packet header fields belonging to different network protocol headers for correct functionality. This work aims to create an efficient unit capable of application-specific packet header analysis and data extraction. The proposed unit deals with protocols used on L2, L3, and L4 layers of ISO/OSI model including tunneled protocols; it is possible to specify protocols which are to be supported. Data analysis is based on right linear grammar transformed to finite automaton. Hardware acceleration has to be exploited in order to achieve data processing of all traffic exchanged over high-speed networks. Using FPGA technology it is possible to achieve both fast and configurable data processing. The designed unit is able to process data on up to 40 Gbps networks. On-the-fly configuration of extracted header fields is supported.
Eluding and Evasion of IDS Systems
Černý, Marek ; Tobola, Jiří (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
This paper analyzes network security devices called intrusion detection (ID) systems. In order to point out possible flaws, especially ID systems using signature analysis are examined. Based on this, methods to exploit possible vulnerabilities of these systems were designed. These methods were implemented into a simple program for ID systems efficiency evaluation. It can be used in a way entirely independent of particular network attack used in the test.
Network security monitor
Morský, Ondřej ; Hošek, Jiří (referee) ; Pelka, Tomáš (advisor)
This document describes software for network traffic analysis a network security monitoring. The way of processing captured frames in network cards and in protocol drivers is also described here. Second part attends to function of packet capture and network communication analysis software which can also generate traffic. This application is designed for Windows operating systems and is created as modular and easily extensible using DLL libraries. Source code of this application can be found on appended CD.
