Senior point in Havlíčkův Brod as a center of support and education in old age

This bachelor thesis focuses on contact places for seniors Senior Points and on education provided on these places. The thesis is theoretical, complemented by reflection and knowledge acquired from practise at a branch office in Havlíčkův Brod. In the introductory part of the thesis basic concepts of aging, preparation for old age, active aging and aspects influencing life quality in old age are discussed. The second part of the thesis describes senior education specifics and the general concept of Senior Point project with further details of activities at the branch office in Havlíčkův Brod. The main goal of the thesis is to describe Senior Point project and to evaluate its activities in context of senior education.

The Attitudes of Older Adults Towards Living in Retirement in Relation to the Area of Residence

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of plans, attitudes and opinions related to the retirement life of people in pre-retirement age. The role of preparing for life in retirement age is of increasing importance in locations with high proportion of people in pre-retirement age. These locations must be given the appropriate attention to minimize potential problem situations. In order to analyze the situation in a locality with a high proportion of older people, a quantitative survey was carried out at the Pokratice district of Litomerice. On the basis of the outputs of the survey, requirements and possible necessary changes in areas of development, transport services, accessibility of free time activities, health and social services are analyzed. In addition to the investigation itself, the work is based on other investigations carried out and other book and magazine sources, examples of good practice and strategical documents. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current situation and propose necessary changes, which need to be implemented in order to minimize the problematic situations in connection with the retirement of a significant part of the inhabitants of the housing estates. Specifics of third age education

The purpose of this diploma work is to describe the possibilities of senior education and specific needs of senior education. The population of Czech republic is ageing. In order to this it is necessary to define very important terms like age, ageing, age management. Demographic situation will need new solutions in learning, because people will have to work longer than it was in history. To be successful at labour market, older people will have to pass various courses and trainings. It is also necessary to prepare for age, because people are living longer, this period can last 30 or 40 years. Learning is a very good way to keep healthy and vital. Senior education has many variations - for ambitious people it can be University of third age, for less demanding students it can be for example Leisure time university. It was proofed, that senior education has positive influence on their health, they are not so often sick, have better mood. Seniors can thank to learning understand the current world and that is useful for them and for the society too. Preparation for Retirement Age from the Perspective of a Social Worker

Growing old is a natural and irreversible process which is part of everybody?s life. Human being is practically getting old from the birth and this process continuous the entire life. The stage of life where growing old is heading to, is called The Old Age. All stages of life are very important but the stage of the old age is the completion of life and also the last stage of life. Man changes through out their life from both biological and psychological aspects. Their social status and needs changes too. They start to appreciate different value system. It is important to notice all the changes through life and prepare appropriately for the old age. Not to underestimate it, if we want to live high-quality life. Man should be preparing for the old age alone all their life. In some aspects a social worker can even help thanks to their work experience in practical parts. The topic of the thesis is the preparation for the old age from a social worker?s the point of view. The aim of the thesis is to map social workers opinions about preparation for the old age. The strategy of a quantitative research which was used a questionnaire method by a technique of a half standard interview. The main question for this research focused on which factors are emphasized by social workers in preparation for the old age. The questionnaire of the research was made into three main parts and focused on a question when social workers think is the perfect timing for preparation for the old age. Also to find out what social workers think preparation for the old age in biological, psychological level means and which of these two they prefer. All information obtained in this research about preparation for the old age will be published in a magazine Náš Domov in a Senior Home in Máj. It is available for staff, clients but also for public.
