Home security system
Čada, Jan ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Lattenberg, Ivo (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design and implementation of a security system for a family house. It consists of a central control panel, a control keyboard and detectors connected using cables. The first part of the thesis discusses the electronic security and fire alarm systems, describing the individual elements of these systems and their different types. Magnetic contacts, fire detectors, sirens and a mains power supply with UPS function are selected from the current offer based on a comparison of parameters. In the next section, a block diagram of the whole system is designed. Raspberry Pi Pico development board with an RP2040 microcontroller is selected along with a GSM module SIM800L for SMS alarm notification and an Ethernet module with a Wiznet W5500 chip for the possibility of implementing a web interface. Schematics of the individual modules of the system are designed - for the central control panel, input module with PCF8574 circuit and two PCBs of the control keyboard module, which is equipped with a button keyboard with backlight, character LCD display type 1602 and proximity sensor VL53L0X for automatic lighting when person comes closer than a defined distance. PCBs are designed according to the schematics. Their manufacturing is then ordered, all components are mounted and the PCBs are placed in a 3D printed enclosure in the case of the control keyboard, and on the mounting plate of the metal cabinet in the case of the central control panel, according to the designed mounting plan. For the selected piezo sirens, covers are designed and 3D printed in the design of the selected Paradox NV5 motion sensors. In addition to the central control panel and the control keyboard, door and window contacts, fire detectors and sirens are installed in the house. The next part is dealing with the development of the control software for the central control panel and control keyboard in MicroPython language and the design of a custom communication protocol on the RS-485 bus for communication between the central control panel and control keyboard. Both control programs are based on the state machine principle, and their state diagrams are presented in the thesis. Part of the text is also focused on the development of the central control panel web interface and integration of the desinged system into the Home Assistant open-source automation system. The last part describes the activation and testing of the system in real conditions of a family house.
Smart home model
Kaniok, Vojtěch ; Jirgl, Miroslav (referee) ; Sýkora, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with exploration of possibilities in regard to automatic integration of devices into Home Assistant and creating a demonstration model of home automation. The theoretical part of this work presents the MQTT protocol, presentation containing description of functionality and comparison with the HTTP protocol. Furthermore, explanation of specific concepts for MQTT such as QoS, types of messages, possibilities of filtration etc.Introduction of the ZigBee communication standard. Following section introduces Open source platform Home assistant, description of architecture, various options of integrating devices, characterization and disadvantages of particular types of installations. Subsequently, I will describe alternatives of MQTT integration in Home Assistant and compare advantages and disadvantages. In the last section of this paper the reader is familiarized with final results, description of MQTT discovery protocol, test of ESP HOME platform and verification of functionality of automatic integration

Project ReShare: an open, community-owned, resource sharing solution
Dethloff, Nora ; Ibbotson, Ian ; Rose, Kristina ; Thompson, Sydney
The ReShare Community is a group of libraries, information organizations, and developers, with both commercial and non-commercial interests, who came together in 2018 to create a new and open approach to library resource sharing systems. Libraries have long established protocols and agreements among local, regional, national, and international networks to provide discovery and access to print and digital resources, extending the use and value of each library’s collection exponentially. However, current resource sharing solutions leave much to be desired. The marketplace has been characterized by stagnating technology, closed or siloed environments, and a consolidation of commercial options, leaving consortia to desire a fresh start; a re-imagined infrastructure that promotes an increased ability to innovate, experiment, and communicate across diverse library systems (ILS, discovery, resource sharing, etc.) and more sustainably pursue shared collection development and print retention initiatives. ReShare aims to inject new life into the space by developing a community-owned, modular resource sharing platform, enabling libraries and consortia to place library users at the center, from discovery, to request management and fulfillment. Project ReShare’s key differentiator is its foundation as a wholly community-owned solution. This approach offers libraries and commercial partners a fundamentally new model for shaping collections and connecting people with what they need, by greatly deepening our ability to collaborate and develop systems responsive to the needs of libraries and their users. In this paper, members of the Project ReShare Steering Committee and Product Management Team explore the frustrations with the current resource sharing environment, share perspectives on the importance of community-owned, open source tools, and discuss the benefits of this type of collaboration for the library community at large. The paper tells the story of Project ReShare, including how it is being developed, how the community has grown, and the potential for this new resource sharing solution.

The ARCLib Project: an Open-Source Solution for Long-Term Preservation
Růžička, Michal
The talk informs about the Czech ARCLib project. One of the main goals of the project is the development of an open-source solution for a bit-level and logical preservation of digital documents, respecting the national and international standards as well as the needs of all types of libraries in the Czech Republic. The mission of the ARCLib project lies, among others, in creating a solution that will allow institutions to implement all of the OAIS functional modules and entities, considering institutions’ information model. The architecture is planned as open and modular and the final product will be able to ingest, validate and store data from a majority of software products used for creating, disseminating and archiving libraries’ digital and digitised data in the Czech Republic.

Largest Koha Installation of 1,130 Public Libraries in Turkey
Yazicioglu, Mengu
The public libraries in Turkey belongs to Ministry of Culture and every city in Turkey has many public libraries, more than 1,140 libraries now. In 2014, they decided to migrate from a local system to Koha and after first period, we widely start to support public libraries in a centeralized system with Koha. Many new modules were added to Koha system and we also migrate to 3.20.x version later. More than 5.000.000 duplicate bibliographic records were merged in that period. In this presentation, we’d like to share all installation process of a largest centeralized system by a free open source library system Koha.
