Title: Orthotic options of paretic limbs in patients after a cerebrovascular stroke Objectives: The main goal of the thesis is to introduce a medical reader to the orthotic options of paretic limbs in patients after a cerebrovascular stroke in the context of a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach. Methods: In my thesis, I have used the methods of systematic research of accessible books, online sources, published studies, and proceedings of Czech or even foreign conferences. Further materials used in the thesis comprise presentations and notes from certified trainings for physiotherapists, professional internships in rehabilitation or orthotics departments, and from personal consultations with experts from fields of orthotics, neurophysiotherapy, robot-assisted rehabilitation and multidisciplinary team management. Results: The thesis offers a comprehensive overview of rehabilitation care in patients after stroke together with an overview of orthotic options of paretic limbs in patients with permanent effects, e. g. spastic paresis, post stroke shoulder pain or joint instability. The thesis could be useful for all members of a multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation team and it should lead to improvement of awareness about orthotic options and to better understanding of the work of an orthotics...

Interdisciplinary metrology in the field prosthetist-orthotist
Drnková, Jana ; Černý, Pavel (advisor) ; Mikšíčková, Petra (referee)
Title: Interdisciplinary metrology in the field prosthetist - orthotist Objectives: The main objective of this work is to give a comprehensive overview of the available and used methods of measurement tools used within the field orthotist - prosthetist with regard to interdisciplinary cooperation mostly with doctors and physiotherapists. Method: The work was developed using the method of qualitative data collection of research articles, literature and oral information obtained from experts in the field, which was subsequently traced in written form, so everything was underpinned by relevant literature. Result: In the field orthotist - prosthetist there is a large and diverse range of measurements with various devices on which it is produced by an orthotic, prosthetic or calceotic device. Measurements must be performed as accurately as possible, always with respect to the used product and to a patient who will use the product. What is important is cooperation with doctors when taking radiographs especially when making the torso braces or corrective braces for limbs. Title: Injury or disease of the knee joint and the possibilities of orthotic fitting. Objective: The main objective of this work is a description of various diseases or injuries of the knee joint and the resulting restrictions on movement and stability of the knee joint and options of fitting suitable orthosis that these restrictions are reduced or eliminated. Method: The study focuses on the theoretical part, which is written by a bibliography. The first part is the attention paid to anatomical structure of the lower limbs, various kinds of diseases and injuries of the knee joint and limiting knee function. The second part focuses on the selection of suitable types of orthoses for individual disability. In this section, I will use in addition to literature and the experience that I gained while working on the prosthetic work and from more experienced colleagues on the practices held throughout the study. Results: The result will be a list of various injuries and diseases of the knee joint and the overview of suitable knee braces that can be used to improve the function of the damaged knee joint, and hence the entire musculoskeletal system.
