Design and fabrication of interference filters for optical fibers
Švábík, Marek ; Liška, Jiří (referee) ; Konečný, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the design and fabrication of interference filters that can be mounted on the ends of optical fibers. The thesis discusses the production process from the filter design to its fabrication by depositing thin layers on a Si wafer. Subsequently, it describes a design that allows the filter to be mounted on the end of an optical fiber and the manufacturing method of such a mountable cap. The fabrication itself involved etching the wafer. After mounting, the functionality of the manufactured filter was tested by measuring its transmittance.
Demonstration kit for fiber optic sensing system
Beránek, Karel ; Klíčník, Ondřej (referee) ; Dejdar, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a~demonstration kit for a~fiber optic sensing system. The thesis includes a~theoretical analysis of optical phenomena such as polarization, dispersion, and interference, which are crucial to understanding the principles of fiber optic sensors. The designed sensing system comprises a~Mach-Zehnder interferometer, a~UP-Board development kit, an external 24-bit sound card, and a~touch display. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the construction of the enclosure using 3D printing, the integration of individual components, the design of a~custom application, and the testing of the system. The results of this work contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of fiber optic sensors and can be utilized in both academic and industrial settings.
The Polyclinic Area Computer Network Design
Langer, Šimon ; Tomáš,, ČTVRTŇÁK (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is the elaboration of a comprehensive design of unified communication system for the polyclinic complex in the town of Uničov. The first part of the thesis is devoted to summarizing the theoretical background of communication network issues. The second part analyses a study of the planned reconstruction of the complex and presents the investor's requirements for the final form of the proposed solution. The third part deals with the elaboration of the communication infrastructure design. Finally, the thesis concludes with a proposal for the configuration of selected active network components and a proposal for project management of the communication infrastructure implementation, including economic evaluation.
Development of electronic circuitry for remote controlled bathyscaphe
Trýska, Tomáš ; Musil, Vladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the development of electronic circuitry for remote controlled bathyscaphe and allow it to move, measure the working values and transmit the video stream from IP camera to the computer. Camera itself can be also remotely tilted by a small servo motor. The bathyscaphe is controlled through a simple computer program.
Utilization of light polarization when filtering the optical signal
Alexa, Jan ; Vlček, Čestmír (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the possibility of separation of useful signal from noise using polarization of laser radiation. This thesis is structured into 5 thematic units. The first unit is focused on laser radiation and its properties. The second part contains a deeper focus on the polarization of radiation, its description and the possibilities of measuring the polarization states. The third part of the thesis is devoted to the design of the measuring chains and identification of used elements. Chapter four contains measurement of status of the polarization and its results. The last chapter analyzes particular measuring chains outputs according to their spectral characteristics.
Software based optical cable documentation
Martínek, Michal ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The focus of this work is a description of search-optic cables and cables stored in the Earth's surface suitable method and the possibility of registration of the optical paths and components in the ArcGIS geographic information system. The work set out in detail the different types of optical fibers and principles listed in the wiring examples most commonly used cables. There are additional elements used in the construction of optical networks, whether the individual connectors, hubs, etc., as well as protection features most often used for distribution of optical cables. There are also examples given options stowages routes and laying cables, and most currently with the possibility to discover a practical listing and description of these search engines non-metallic elements. The work also focuses on how these elements efficiently record to go to them quickly and easily access and simplify their close location in real space, to ensure unwanted destructive interruption, or any repair, expansion, etc.
Topology for next generation access networks
Kovář, Adam ; Sládok, Ondřej (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
This thesis consists of basic requirements, application of optical fibres and final simulation of this network in specific location. This template shows ideal construction of optical fibre network for this specific location and also displays expected price of building this kind of network. In this thesis will be described this location and its problematic parts which can have critical impact on building of this network. As a part of design of this network we chose optical fibre and technology for protection of optical fibres. All of these items are collected and we can see approximate price. This thesis shows how the customer will be connected to network and also to this thesis is attached the map which shows exact position of the network. Simulation will prove networks stability and shows delay which can occur during using basic and expected applications on network.
Optical connections and their influence on transmission
Jaroš, Pavel ; Šporik, Jan (referee) ; Tejkal, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor‘s thesis is to evaluate the current options of connecting optical fibres and their application in specific situations. Firstly, I will deal with fiber optic system and its components in detail. Then, this topic will be futher developed by discussing fibre connection problems, fusion splicing for making permanent fiber join, mechanical splice and, most of all, optical connectors. In following chapters I introduce mathematical dependence of attenuation on the relative possition of the ends of fibers. Another aim of the work was to create an application in a suitable programming enviroment, which will be used for design of optical path.
Technology of translucent architectural concrete
Adámková, Aneta ; Novosad,, Petr (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with problems of light transmitting concrete. The aim was to design a process for the production of light transmitting concrete. The theoretical part was compiled from foreign knowledge, which led to an assessment of the availability and price of optical fibers in the Czech Republic. The experimental part deals with the issues of different types of anchores in production and the selection of adequate diametr of the optical fiber from the three tested diameters. In the conclusion are the findings that led to the design of the production proces that is also described.
Fiber-optic sensor based on multi-mode interference
Hedl, Michal ; Havránek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šedivá, Soňa (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on measurement of the physical quantities by fiber optic sensors based on multimode interference. The objective is to evaluate the appropriate method of signal provided by the spectrum analyzer. Firstly, a review of optics, optical phenomena and fibers is performed. The basic theory necessary for the realization of measurements and the principal of fiber optic sensors and SMS (singlemode–multimode–singlemode) structures are discussed. Finally, the automated measuring workplace for absorption spectrum measurement is created and described. Given data are finally evaluated by an artificial neural network and a sensor concept for practical utilization is designed.
