Tesařík alpský (\kur{Rosalia alpina}) v Ralské pahorkatině
KOVÁŘOVÁ, Pavlína
The Rosalia longicorn (Rosalia alpina; Linnaeus, 1758) is a protected saproxylic (deadwood-depending) beetle species. Thanks to its attractive colouring, it acts as an umbrella species important for biodiversity conservation. The beetle has disappeared from many places in the Czech Republic, with one of the last populations surviving in the Ralska upland. Using the capture-mark-recapture method, I estimated the local population size, and mobility of the species, and related the results to the data obtained in previous years. The outcome will support more efficient conservation strategies targeted at this species in the Ralska upland.
Průzkum výskytu ohrožených druhů rostlin na zemědělské půdě v severní části Mikroregionu Odersko
Ziegl, Jiří
This bachelor thesis deals with the protected and endangered species of plants on agricultural land area of Odry, which is part of the Oder Hills natural park. Survey of the northern part of the Mikroregion Odersko took place in 2016 and was focused only on permanent grassland. There were found seven threatened taxa categories C1-C3 in fourteen locations according to the Red List of vascular plants of the Czech Republic (Grulich, 2012). Individual locations were mapped using GPS devices and then a map of their occurrence was created.
Péče o travní porosty v rámci soustavy Natura 2000
Výletová, Lenka
Bachelor thesis was conceived in its first part as a general literature review describing history, significance and characteristic of grasslands within the system Natura 2000. Not only pastures are considered as a grassland, but also continuous vegetation with domination of grasses intended for feeding purposes and technical use, which perform production and non-production function. Grazing cattle is an essential element of protected areas. In a second part of the thesis I focuses on Natura 2000, its origin, directives and goals description. In separate chapters is mentioned the care of grasslands within the system Natura 2000 and description and destruction methods of invasive species. The third part is about selected Sites of Community Importance in Hodonín district. I chose and described five sites into Natura 2000 system around my home. These sites are described geologically, pedologically and botanically. I focused on a significant and vulnerable species in this areas. I focused on the recommended care for selected areas in the last part.
Distribution, ecology and conservation of critically endangered Alcon Blue (Phengaris alcon f. alcon) in the Czech Republic
Kupková, Barbora ; Sedláček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Pech, Pavel (referee)
The state of the populations of many insects is critical in the Czech Republic, other species have already extinct. Among the species balancing at the limit of survival is myrmecophilus Alcon Blue (Phengaris alcon), especially its ecological form (P. alcon f. alcon), which is associated with the Marsh Gentian (Gentiana pneumonanthe) during the early larval stages. The general aim of my work was to evaluate the current distribution of the Alcon Blue butterfly (P. alcon f. alcon) in the Czech Republic, to estimate the size of the remaining populations and to propose a practical action plan for conservation of the species in the Czech Republic. The analysis of the databases showed that the species survives theoretically in 11 localities. The field survey in 2016 revealed, however, that at five other sites a species in the recent past was extinct. The remaining 6 localities are concentrated in Southwestern Bohemia on a total area of only 20 hectares. Two population is however close to extinction. The cause of local extinction of Alcon Blues was the extinction of host plants. The main factors influencing the size of butterfly populations in the last localities were the abundace and vitality of host plants (number of fertile shoots, height). Part of my work was an attempt to reintroduce Alcon Blue to a...
Can the capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) reintroduction be successful?
Stelšovská, Lenka ; Křenová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
The western capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) used to be a common species in Europe but, during the last decades, the species declined rapidly in the western part of its range, i.e. in Central and Western Europe. Decreasing of the habitat quality, inappropriate forest management, climate changes, disturbing by humans (sport & tourisms) together with very only low adaptabity of this species were recognized to be the most important factors threatening Tetrao urogallus. Also predation is a very important stress factor. Numbers of reintroduction projects have been conducted in Europe to improve the situation. This study summarizes current knowledge about reintroduction projects and their effectivity. Most of the projects were not successful very much. Reintroduction projects were implemented also in the Czech Republic in 1998 - 2007 and capercaillies have been released in several regions (Šumava, Český les, Krkonoše, Jeseníky, Moravskoslezské Beskydy, and Brdy). No new populations were established. The reasons for the failure have been found in the insufficient quality of the biotopes, predation, the physiological and ethological deficiencies of the young birds and the ways of their rearing. It is possible to summarize, that the reintroduction projects seem to be low effective but they are not completely...
Postoj žáků vybrané střední odborné školy k ochraně ohrožených druhů zvířat
Matoulková, Milada
The bachelor work is focused on the survey of attitudes about the protection of endangered species. The respondents were students of the third grade of a selected vocational school with the focus on science. The survey was conducted via a questionnaire. The primary aim of the theoretical part of the bachelor work was the definition of a term attitudes and a student of a vocational school, together with the description of the protection of nature and endangered species of animals in the context of Framework Education Programme of vocational schools (FEP of VS) and School Educational Schedule. The research of FEP of VS revealed that during the studies students are provided a sufficient number of opportunities in the scope of general science education and even cross-cutting themes A Man and Their Environment to form the required attitude towards nature and the protection of endangered species of animals. The major aim of the practical part was the survey of students´ attitudes. The results show that students´ understanding of this issue is adequate. At the same time students expressed their concern about this issue, however, the number of students ready to get involved in the active protection of nature did not correspond with the number of students who revealed their favourable attitudes.
Differences between subspecies of tiger Panthera tigris, focusing on their protection
Karbanová, Šárka ; Kracíková, Olga (advisor) ; Masopustová, Renata (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of the differences among subspecies of tiger Panthera tigris with the focus on the level of endangerment and their protection. The introduction outlines brief phylogeny of predators, evolution of felines and current taxonomic classification of the tiger and its subspecies. First part contains general information about tigers such as their basic coloring, sizes and weights, data about the original occurrence and natural biotype. It provides the information about the number of tigers in the wild. It also focuses on biological characteristics such as reproductive capacity, preferred prey and hunting method. The thesis also states the reasons of the endangerment of tigers and data about their protection. Second part of the thesis deals with the specific information about particular subspecies: colorings, sizes, weights, occurrence and biotype, population, reproduction, prey, reasons of the endangerment and the status of their protection.
Průzkum zvláště chráněných a ohrožených rostlin v okolí obce Lesní Albrechtice
Vícha, Tomáš
This work is about the botanical research around the village Lesní Albrechtice with an emphasing on endangered and protected species of plants. This research was proceeded during 2014. Found endangered and protected plants were located by GPS receiver and then were focused on the map. On the territory were found these endangered and protected species: Wild Calla (Calla palustri), Martagon (Lilium martagon), Crocus Heuffelianus (Crocus heuffelianus), Europen Misletoe (Viscum album subsp. abietis) and Siberian Iris (Iris sibirica). In the end was described important measure for rescuing these species.
