Zhodnocení zařazených plemenných hřebců v chovu českého teplokrevníka po roce 2000
Kotková, Simona
The aim of the thesis was to create a literature search of the Czech warmblood bred, important breeds involved in its breeding and subsequent analysis of breeding stallion approved for Czech warmblood breeding in individual years from 2000 to the present. The basic database consisted of 530 stallions belonging to 14 different breeds. Out of the total number of sires, the Czech warmblood horse was the most represented during the entire period of 22 years, at 31,13 %. Of the foreign sport breeds, the Holstein horse breed was the most represented at 15,28 %. The average sire was included in breeding for 11 years, while during his breeding period he produced an average od 26,08 offspring. Of the total number of 530 horses, 26,23 % were stallions from local stud farms (ZH) and 73,77 % were private stallions (S). Of the total number of offspring (13,825) of all sires, ZH offspring accounted for 38,68 % and S offspring for 51,32 %. The largest representation of own jumping and dressage performance was in jumping performance S-ST** 26,98 % and in dressage L 4,72 %.
Parental Care in Insects and its Didactic Use in Teaching
Mázdrová, Vendula ; Říhová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Šípek, Petr (referee)
In my bachelor thesis, I focus on parental care in insects, its types and forms. At the same time, I present in more detail a parental care of offspring in individual representatives of insect orders. I also explain the concept of eusocial insect. In this part of my thesis I also focus on the research of literature, which in closer look describes orders of insects and parental care of their offspring. In the second, practical part, I first analyse primary school nature science textbooks to determine the extent to which parental care is taught in primary schools. I further analyse the school curriculum (SCP) and the thematic plan at a particular elementary school in Davle. I also develop didactic tools suitable for teaching - a worksheet and three didactic games that can be used in teaching nature science in the sixth grade at the primary school. Two of the created didactic tools were used in an implemented lesson at the elementary school in Davle. Finally, I write about the course of the lesson, its objectives, and I clearly describe its different parts chronologically. Finally, I summarize the lesson and compare it with similar didactic methods used by other authors in their works. Key words: social insect, offspring, parental care, lesson, game, worksheet
Sleep correlates of early risk of bipolar disorder in children and adolescents.
Šebela, Antonín ; Goetz, Michal (advisor) ; Příhodová, Iva (referee) ; Vevera, Jan (referee)
Background: Reports of subjective sleep impairments have been replicated in adults with bipolar disorder (BD) and young BD patients. Furthermore, circadian rhythm alterations are a core feature of BD. Despite the impairment in circadian rhythms and altered sleep included in various heuristic developmental models of BD, thus far, biomarkers in population at risk for BD have not been sufficiently objectively validated. Thus, we conducted: a) Explorative study of sleep and rest-activity circadian rhythm among offspring of BD parents. b) Study of sleep and rest-activity circadian rhythm among offspring of BD parents without the presence of psychopathology (except depression and anxiety disorders) based on our exploratory findings. Methods: a) 14 days of actigraphic assessment and subjective scales (Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire, PSQ; the Morningness/Eveningness Questionnaire, MEQ; and The General Behavior Inventory Sleep Subscale, GBISS) to assess circadian preference, and to identify sleep impairment symptoms. Psychopathology was assessed using psychiatric interview. b) ≥ 14 days of actigraphic assessment with advanced methods to assess the chronotype, social jet lag and sleep macrostructure, psychiatric interview and subjective psychometric scales to assess the full psychopathology profile. Results:...
The impact of intracytoplasmic sperm injection on succesful development and fertility in selected mammal species
Kaufman, Jonáš ; Petelák, Aleš (advisor) ; Petr, Jaroslav (referee)
5 Abstract This thesis aims to summarize the current knowledge about the development and reproductive capacities of individuals conceived by artificial conception, especially intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and to make a comparison with naturally conceived ones. The focus is primarily on human assisted reproduction, even though scientific work with human gametes and embryos faces ethical difficulties. However, the main objective is to determine whether ICSI has a negative effect on offspring, partially using results from animal models. Furthermore, this thesis compares birth outcomes, incidence of birth defects, cognitive and reproductive abilities and both genetic and epigenetic integrity of individuals conceived naturally with those conceived via ICSI. As of yet, according to available information, ICSI appears to be a safe artificial method of reproduction. Poor results may often either be explained by the reduced fertility of parents, or their significance is negligible. Keywords: artificial fertilization, ART, ICSI, reproduction, offspring, mouse, livestock, human
Importance of the presence of parents for the eggs development and fry mortality in fish of the genus \kur{Hemichromis}
MICHALIČKA, Petr
Through this experiment there was examined the effect of the presence of the parents in the development and mortality of fish spawn of the genus Hemichromis. Hemichromis guttatus was selected for this experiment as a model species. It was found that the parental care in the fish genus Hemichromis is most needed during the period when the offspring is in the stage of eggs. In this stage, the absence of parents showed higher level of mortality (greater number of attacked by mold eggs left without parental care). In other developmental stages of the offspring the parental care was not a great advantage, on the contrary, in some cases allowing parents to take care of the screed was a disadvantage due to cannibalism.
A PROPOSAL OF THE SYSTEM OF INFORMATION FOR BREEDERS OF WARM-BLOOD HORSES
HAVLOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this work was to compile a summary of the information provided to the public breeders by the five warm-blood horse breeding organizations in the Czech Republic. Mentioned horses are used for sporting purposes. A similar report was done on the extent and quality of information provided to the public breeders in neighboring European countries. We had prepared a proposal for a system that would provide the necessary information for effective breeding work . In the Czech Republic there is a system for collecting information about the population of horses. However, it is necessary to evaluate and publish information in an understandable form to breeders. As a basis for the preparation of tabular overview of the number of warm-blood horses bred in the Czech Republic, were collected the data from the Central horse register website and data from yearbooks and websites of individual breeders associations. Data were collected for the period of 2006 - 2013. In this thesis the processed data covers these breeds: Czech warmblood, Slovak warmblood, Moravian warmblood , Kinsky horse and Czech Traken. We have suggested the system, configuration and method for disclosure of the breeding information for warm-blood horse breeders and there is also recommended the annual frequency. As a model stallion was chosen Dutch warmblood Great Pleasure and we have created an information portfolio of this stallion. The system of the published information includes identification of the horse, pedigree, exterior evaluation, the results of his performance, comparing features and characteristics of the offspring population and the average breeding value estimation for exterior and performance. An important point is to make the overview of births and evaluated offspring. The proposed system should allow the improvement of the current breeding process and provide objective information to breeders for the right breeding decisions.
