Motivation of prison Chaplains

The diploma thesis focuses on the prison chaplains motivation for their work with prisoners. In the theoretical part is offered a comprehensive summary of the prison service topic in which are described some basic concepts of the punishement functions and personnel the chaplain meets in the prison. It also closely describes the prison chaplain profession, the historical beginnings of this service, the prison chaplains church affiliation, conditions for entering this profession, legislation, chaplain role and activities in the prison. Further the thesis deals with a chapter about the motivation topic, which specifies the assumed chaplains motives for this service. Accordingly with the given thesis goal and the research questions, the motivation of prison chaplains is determined in the practical part, with the help of qualitative research. In the research were involved eight prison different genders chaplains, from different churches, prisons and with different time of experience as a prison chaplain. The importance of forgiveness in the field of interpersonal relationships

The diploma thesis deals with the meaning of forgiveness and restorative social processes. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the concept of forgiveness in various professional discourses and social work. The The diploma thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the concept of forgiveness from a theological point of view. The second chapter deals with the concept of forgiveness in ethical-philosophical, psychological and pedagogical discourse. The third chapter focuses on perpetrators and victims of crimes, how it is possible to work with them within the framework of social work. How is it possible to achieve forgiveness and reconciliation by connecting everyone who has been affected by criminal activity, therefore perpetrators, victims but also the whole society.
Employing people in imprisonment

This diploma thesis is focused on employing of persons serving a sentence of imprisonment. The aim is to make the reader familiar with prison issues, with the types of prisons, to get acquainted with the actual execution of imprisonment and employing of persons serving a custodial sentence, who are interested in working while serving a sentence of imprisonment. The theoretical part clarifies special terms such as socialization, resocialization, treatment as well as a treatment program, rewards and penalties, output department. There is also a chapter on social work and prison issues. The practical parts of this thesis deals with qualitative research through interviews with a total of three research groups, which are employed convicts, social workers and people who focus on the course of occupying of convicts.
The Punishment of House Arrest as a Form of the Offender's Rectification Using Technical Means.

The aim of thesis entitled "The punishment of house arrest as a form of the offender's rectification using technical means" (hereinafter referred to as "electronic bracelets") was to find out the contribution of electronic bracelets in the execution of house arrest punishment. In the theoretical part, the issue of house arrest was defined. The practical part was focused on the research. The research questions were answered in the practical part. Advantages and disadvantages of electronic bracelets compared to a random inspection performed by PMS staff was the first research question. The second research question was whether the contribution of electronic bracelets in the execution of house arrest sentence is at a level corresponding to current European trends. The qualitative research strategy and the method of questioning with the technique of semi-structured interview were chosen for the research. The content analysis of documents was also used. The data obtained from the interviews were processed using grounded theory and one level of coding (open coding) was used. The data obtained from the content analysis of documents were processed using graphs andstatistical index. The research set was selected by purposeful sampling and consisted of 10 informants from the Probation and Mediation Service in the South Bohemian Region. At the beginning of interview, all informants were informed about the process and anonymity of this research. From the research it can be concluded that the benefit of electronic bracelets for the execution of house arrest is their effectiveness and 100% control of convicted offender. Thanks to electronic bracelets, state funds have been saved and the staff of electronic monitoring system department knows exactly when and where the convict is located. The research has shown that the biggest advantage of electronic bracelet over a random check performed by PMS employees is the online monitoring of convict 24 hours a day. On the other hand, the disadvantage of electronic bracelet compared to the random inspection performed by PMS staff is the greater deployment regarding technical conditions and less frequent personal contact. Respondents stated that electronicbracelets, despite their operational shortcomings, correspond to the level of current European trends in the execution of house arrest. The thesis can contribute as an information material for offender convicted toward the house arrest. The thesis can be recommended as an auxiliary material for university students in the field of social law and also for future and current employees of the Probation and Mediation Service.
Special pedagogue role in system of treating with prisoners

This diploma thesis deals with special pedagogue role in system of treating with prisoners at the department custody and department of imprisonment. It also describes all the activities and programs, which are prepared by special pedagogue for accused and convinced. There is described the work of special pedagogue in Remand Prison Praha-Pankrác. The research was based on observations, case reports and interviews.
Penitentiary system of the Czech Republic - presence and future

The diploma thesis deals with the penitentiary system of the Czech Republic. It contains a brief excursion into the past of the Czech penitentiary system, i.e. the history of punishment in our territory. Attention is paid to the present penitentiary system of the Czech Republic, legislative development, problematic legal regulation, its impact on practice, as well as to the view to the future (within the frame of the new Czech penitentiary system conception). The diploma thesis represents the functioning of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, its tasks and aims. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the future of the Czech penitentiary system, especially to changes in the external differentiation of prisons. The practical part of the thesis is a qualitative research survey (structured interviews with employees of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic). It maps the attitude of Prison Service employees to the existing penitentiary system and to legislative adjustments effective from October 2017. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the current penitentiary system of the Czech Republic in the context of valid legislative changes.
