Ethical dilemmas of social workers in counseling centers for people with disabilities

This master's thesis deals with the topic of ethical dilemma of social workers in counseling facilities for handicapped people. The first chapter is dedicated to types of handicaps and social issues, which those handicaps create. It also deals with a social work with handicapped people. Its main focus is area of a specialized social consulting. The second chapter discusses ethical dilemmas, their definition and eventually particulars dilemmas, which were observed by a research. The research was conducted in South Bohemia in counseling facilities for handicapped people. The next chapter deals with an ethical theory, which debates consequences of human activities and their usefulness, so called utilitarianism. Also one ethical dilemma is discussed here through utilitarianism theory. The last chapter discusses results of the conducted research and outcome of the master's thesis.
Assisted contact with children

1 Summary Assisted contact with children The aim of my thesis is to describe the new phenomenon of social work i.e an assisted contact with children. In the theoretical part I focused on areas that are connected with parent-child assisted contact, and that parents solve the most often. I gave a definition of parental responsibility and interests of the child, which are described in legislation or conventions. In relation to this, I focused on divorce, and what defense mechanisms can a child have on the disintegration of the family, and how it is able to come to terms with this new reality. Also, what may happen if the child is refused to see the other parent after the divorce. I described parental alienation syndrome, which is related to this topic. Furthermore, I described the possibilities of solving problematic parent-child contact (parents agreement, court rulings and family mediation). I also defined assisted contact. Under what circumstances it occurs, what are its types, functions and its development. Following are examples of organizations dealing with assisted contact. Possible examples of solutions of problematic relationship between the parents that were implemented successfully abroad. In the practical part, I conducted a survey using an anonymous questionnaire. Current management of counseling in practical matters for family members and survivors - a proposal for how to provide counseling in social services

This diploma thesis deals with counselling management for families of deceased persons in practical matters. The goal of the work is to to describe the contemporary practical reality of social services in counselling for families and survivors. Another aim is to identify the matters in which help for survivors is most necessary. The research in this thesis is qualitative and uses semi-structured interviews as a primary method. It focuses on two groups of respondents, one of which consists of social services managers, while the other includes survivors who have experienced the practical matters of caring for a family member or their decease. The semi-structured interviews are analysed using open coding and subsequently split into categories which emerged from data analysis. Recommendations for social service managers are presented in the conclusion of the thesis based on the results of research surveys. These recommendations include suggestions on counselling for survivors in practical matters. Possibilities of Social Work in Women with Breast Cancer

The theoretical part of this thesis is divided into seven chapters. In the first chapter is described the current status of the issue. The second chapter is concerned with social consequences of the disease and the third chapter is related to psychological areas of this issue. The fourth chapter is devoted to the specific stress in woman´s life caused by the breast carcinoma. The fifth chapter is focused on the disease in connection with the crisis. The sixth chapter deals with coping with problems of the disease and suffering of women. In the last chapter is defined the social work. This bachelor thesis is designed as informational material for women with breast carcinoma within professional social counseling and for social workers dealing with women with breast carcinoma.
Social Work in the Hospic

This Bachelor thesis is focused on hospice social care. The theoretical part consists of general description of social work, where Act no. 108/2006 Social Services is mentioned.The research part consists of qualitative research method using semi-controlled interview.The research was conducted in 6 hospices and one counseling clinic for bereaved. The goal of the research part of this thesis is to describe the specifics of social work in hospice with a focus on professional social counseling, counseling for bereaved and rental of assistive devices.
Comparison of activity of social worker in selected social service facilities

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compar aktivity of social worker in selected social service facilities in South Bohemian Region. The research questions were focused on whether there are differences in the activities of social workers and what these problems are. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis were selected qualitative research, polling method and semi-structured interview technique. A total of 7 different social service facilities from the South Bohemian Region were selected through a register of social services providers of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic based on quotas selection. The selected facilities are: low-threshold facilities for children and youth, field program, professional social counseling, weekly care centre, early care, social-active service for families with children and retirement house. The research file consisted of 8 social workers from individual facilities. The obtained data was processed by the cluster method. The research shows that the comparisn of activity of social workers is most distinct in the target group of the facility. The most paperwork have social worker in retirement house and least paperwork have social worker in low-threshold facilities for children and youth. In some facilities the social worker performs the same work as a caregiver and the only difference between them is the level of responsibility for the work done, especially in the administration. The bachelor thesis can be used for study purposes. The results of the research can also serve to make future social workers more aware of the differences in the content of work in selected social services facilities.

Ethical aspects of the professional social counselling in citizens advice centres

This diploma thesis deals with social counseling in citizen advice bureau in Czech Republic. It deals with its origin, legislation surrounding it, goals, principles and counseling process. This aim of the thesis will support research. Its goal was to find out if the social workers in civil counseling encounter ethical dilemmas and other problems connected to power, independence of the client and impartiality of the social worker.

It describes debt as a problem originating from the mindset of contemporary consumer society, reflects the risks of individual financial products available on the market, offered by banks and non-banking institutions in particular. It outlines the historical development of the consumer society and usury as a social problem. It describes the causes of indebtedness, risks associated with it (usury, execution) and current state of Czech society. It also includes a view of the social workers, who work with clients caught in a debt trap as a part of the professional social counseling on such issues.
Comparison of standards RVKPP and MPSV in drug services

The aim of this thesis is a comparison of standards MPSV and RVKPP to determine which standards are suitable for Drug counseling service PREVENT intership and why. The theoretical part bring closer the theoretical background of both standards, their goals, differences in philosophy and focus of standards and procedural differences in certification and inspection process. Furthermore, there is the distinction between professional social counseling and outpatient treatment and a short introduction of Drug counseling service PREVENT bring out The practical part pursue the respektive comparison, accompanied with commentary.. Conclusion summarizes the results obtained. I used the method of document analysis - standards MPSV and RVKPP and subsequent comparsions with the services in Drug counseling service PREVENT. The contributon of this work is that as fist compares both standards that are necessary to be complied with drug services from the existence perspective and discusse their use in the praxes. The work is also beneficial in the view of planning and thinking about future direction of our institution, Drug counseling centre PREVENT. At the same time, I would like to present theese results in professional circles and triggered a debate on further reflection and revision of the two types of standards.
