Ferdinand Kafka (1841-1926) . Period Cultural Educational Activity in the Region

The bachelor thesis is focused on the personage of Ferdinand Kafka (1841-1925), a representative of period cultural and educational activities in the context of the Malé Svatoňovice area, at the utter end of Czech lands, lying at the sharp Czech-German linguistic line. Public activities of Ferdinand Kafka occur in the second half of the 19th century and the first two decades of the following one. The case study is on a topic which has never been researched, and works with a historical-comparative method that draw from a large amount of primary sources, such as from personal archives of Kafka's family or the document collection of the amateur theatre. This profile takes notice of Kafka's life events, family and social background, and, above all, of his work for the region. We can find Ferdinand Kafka as a council man, responsible for decision making in his home town, and as a speaker of the people, ensuring communication between inhabitants and their aristocrats. He is described as a folk writer and a gifted public narrator. This follower of revivalist traditions contributed to national culture also by the foundation of a large number of local Czech educational guilds, such as the readers'company. Biographical and literary connection of Božena Němcová in Polná

The bachelor thesis is focused on the life of Božena Němcova in the city of Polna. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to explain why the family of Božena Němcová moved to the city of Polna. A profile of region of Polna is added to the thesis. Moreover, the sociocultural life of the time of Bozena Nemcova is compared with sociocultural life of nowadays. The main aim of the thesis is the classification and explanation of biographical data. These data are accessible due to primary and secondary specialized literature. Evaluation of a private life of the family of Bozena Nemcova enlarges the thesis. The thesis also focuses on the persona of Michael Florian whose work is consisted of six pieces of xylographs. These xylographs are connected to the life of Bozena Nemcova. Interpretative analysis of literary texts is significant because of reflecting life of Bozena Nemcova in the city of Polna. A mention of a statue of Nemcova is a very topical issue thanks to revealing in June 2017. The whole thesis is a drawn up contribution to local literary-historical research.
Jiří Chalupa and the Amateurs´s theatre Youth Club in Havlíčkův Brod 1938-1945

The thesis deals with an amateur theatre in Německý Brod (nowadays called Havlíčkův Brod). In her thesis, the author focuses on an amateur actor Jiří Chalupa and his acting in this fellowship, especially in a part of the theatre which was established by young actor, mainly by students, as an official union of the theatre. Apart from this, the author deals with professional avant-garde theatres as well. The author focused on two official theatres, such as Osvobozené divadlo and D Divadlo, as young actors took their inspiration there. On these bases, the author tries to disentangle the network of theatres and how did they influence one another. These relationships were later lodged into cultural and political background.

History of amateur theatre in Trutnov region

(in English): The bachelor work deals with the history of amateur societies in Trutnov region from their origin in 19th and the beginning of the 20th century till the year 1945. The main part describes four local theatre societies. Two of them are from the Czech part of the region and the other two from the part with the Czech minority. It also focuses on circumstances of their origin and it covers cultural, educational and charitable activities, which they performed. This part does not forget the description of the relation with other societies and associations. The part of the bachelor work is also a description of administration of the societies, their composition, running and the relation with political authorities. For better understanding is drawn up a general development of Czech amateur theatre with emphasis on its national- educational function in the period of the national revival. The brief history of Trutnov town gives an idea of national and cultural development of the region. Tables and supplements completes an activity and running of amateur societies.

The first chapter describes life in the Czech lands since the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, until 1945. The second chapter explains the predisposition to the formation of the association. This work consists of three parts: the translation theory of drama and the specifics of school theatre, the translation of a play by David Llorente, Los árboles dormidos, and a commentary discussing the translation. The theoretical part focuses on problems and characteristics of translations of this genre. The commentary to the translation includes a translation analysis, a discussion of the translation problems and their solutions, and a typology of translation shifts.
