Methods and techniques of private funding of nongovernmental nonprofit organizations

The use of private sources in nongovernmental nonprofit organizations funding is a very topical issue that needs to be addressed for the successful, effective and long-term functioning of such organizations. This diploma thesis - Methods and techniques of private funding of nongovernmental nonprofit organizations - is focused on fundraising in terms of both its theoretical ground and the practical use. Fundraising is introduced as an integral part of the routine activities of nonprofit organizations that helps to ensure sufficient funds for implementing the organizations' mission. This thesis discusses the theoretical ground for fundraising as a separate field, including the legislative framework for nongovernmental nonprofit organizations in the Czech Republic. The specifics of individual private donors when obtaining adequate funds are also distinguished. It further describes the use of specific methods and techniques of fundraising practice. The research part provides insight into areas of private funding by searching for examples of corporate fundraising best practices in selected foundation subjects in the social sphere.

Leadership in nongovernmental nonprofit organizations

The thesis is focused on the topic of leadership in nongovernmental nonprofit organizations. The thesis is focused on specifics of process of leadership in nongovernmental non-profit sector with the greatest emphasis on the difference in the approaches of leadership of paid staff and volunteers, these groups of people are a very important and typical part of NGO. The thesis presents the most commonly used theories of leadership in the organizations, as well as describes the importance of leadership in the NGO. A qualitative method of data obtaining is used in the empirical part of the thesis. It is possible to describe the course of the process of leadership in NGO from interviews with the leaders and its specifics can be pointed out. Spanish development cooperation and development education implemented by nongovernmental nonprofit organizations in Valencia

The present thesis tries to Czech readers familiar with the concepts of development cooperation and development education in Spain, focusing on the practical implementation of development education by NGOs in Valencia. In the theoretical part are gradually presented the basic historical and political bases of both concepts and the reader is acquainted with the institutional prerequisites for their implementation in Spain. The empirical part contains the results of the analysis of interviews with representatives of NGOs in Valencia, which realize the practical development educational activities in elementary and secondary schools. The text is supplemented with illustrative graphs and tables, and includes examples of typical responses of respondents which contribute to the understanding and interpretation of the text. The final section includes a discussion of applied research methods and critical evaluation of the results that were presented in the empirical part.
