Non-membership of Sweden in the European Monetary Union

The Bachelor's thesis "Non-membership of Sweden in the European Monetary Union and its economic reasons"deals with the Swedish accession to the euro area. The aim of the first chapter is to introduce the economic history of Sweden, focusing particularly on the period of forming the welfare state and present economic prosperity. The second chapter looks deeply into the economic reasons of Swedish absence in the EMU, including primarily the non-attendance in the ERM II and the interest in keeping the independent monetary policy and finally summarises and explains the influence of Swedish historical developement on the common currency adopting attitude. The fulfilment of the Maastricht criteria by Sweden in 2014 has been analysed in the separate subchapter.

The bachelor's theses "The process of preparation for the entry into the euro area" is dedicated to the czech accession into the euro area. The first chapter describes the history of monetary union from 1958 till now. Next chapter is focused on the legal obligation which is embedded in the Maastricht Treaty. The third chapter evaluates the current situation of fulfilment of nominal convergence criteria by Czech republic. The fourth chapter analyses the real convergence of czech economy according to criteria which were derrived from theory of optimum currency areas. The last chapter tries to explain why is the czech economy stagnating in the context of real convergence.
Analysis of ready state of the Czech Republic to adopt single European currency

The Bachelor's theses "Analysis of ready state of the Czech Republic to adopt single European currency" is dedicated to the Czech Republic's accession to the euro area. In its first chapter, the reader will become familiar with the commitment of the Czech Republic to adopt single European currency which is legally embedded in the Maastricht Treaty. The next part is focused on the fulfilment of the nominal convergence criteria by the Czech Republic. The third chapter analyzes the readiness of the Czech Republic for euro area accession through an evaluation of the cyclic and structural alignment with the euro area. This chapter also describes mechanisms whereupon the Czech Republic would be able to adapt to the euro area countries in the event of the occurrence of asymmetric shocks. The last chapter refers to a strategy that has been created for the purpose of euro adoption in the Czech Republic, to the benefits and risks which can result from this step and to the institutional provision for the single European currency changeover. In conclusion, the attitude of experts on the readiness of the Czech Republic for the euro adoption is summarized and on the possible prospects for accession to euro area.
Nominal and real convergence of the Czech Republic in relation to EMU

The diploma thesis evaluates nominal and real convergence of the Czech Republic in relation to its future entry to euro area. First chapter focuses on process of creating the Economic and Monetary Union and description of convergence and its function during the implementation of euro. In the second chapter the Czech monetary integration process is defined. The third and forth chapters contain evaluation of convergence of the Czech Republic. In the last chapter there is a comparison of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, especially the common and different trends in approaching the process of monetary integration.

The history of austrian economic policy since the 20. century is described. The theses then deals with the prediction of the economic development and growth. It is described, which economic impacts on austrian public finace this could have in the following period.
Perpektivy přistoupení k eurozóně - zkušenosti a poučení

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám problematikou vstupu do eurozóny z hlediska plnění nominálních a reálných konvergenčních kritérií. Východiskem je předpoklad, že země vstupující do eurozóny má zájem ze vstupu co nejvíce profitovat. V teoretické části nastiňuji problematiku teorie optimálních měnových zón poprvé definovanou v 60.letech 20 století. Uvádím také dva hlavní současné přístupy k této teorii. Ve druhé části popisuji zejména měnovou politiku německé centrální banky při sjednocení německých států ? to vše s přihlédnutím k teorii optimální měnové oblasti. V další části se zabývám plněním nominálních a reálných konvergenčních kritérií v aplikaci na Českou republiku jako kandidátské země eurozóny. Zdůrazňuji zde důležitost nejen nominální konvergence, ale hlavně konvergence reálné a upozorňuji na hlavní nedostatky a potenciální nebezpečí reálné konvergence České republiky.
