Building of the State and national culture in Carpathian Ruthenia

The diploma thesis, which is called Building of the State amd national culture in Carpathian Ruthenia, deals mainly with federal activities in the east of the Republic. It focuses mainly on the operation of Czech teachers and their contribution to creating the new state . The work is divided into five chapters.The first expands on the influence of teachers on the development of the national idea of single state of newly annexed Ruthenia. The second part describes the activities of the Czechoslovak organizations that were created since 1919. The third section describes the activities of such organizations that were not focused on the national idea, but were created solely for the joy of their members. The fourth chapter describes the Ruthenian societies as a counterweight to those of Czechoslovakia, also including examples of their way of thinking. The last section lists additional organizations, which were based on Ruthenia, but it did not prove to be important within the whole concept of this work. Belarusian national idea in samizdat periodicals in BSSR in 1970-1985

5 Abstract Diploma thesis deals with the topic of the Belarusian national movement in the late Soviet period. After the end of the Stalinist terror in the 70th-80th of the 20th century civic movements have been reborn in the Soviet Belarus. A rising national movement continued the national- building process, started in 20th years with the program of Belorusisation, which was interuppted by Soviet government in the late 20th. The research subject of the thesis is the Belarusian national idea in samizdat periodicals during 1970-1985. Content analysis of samizdat journals allows to define and understand the period's thinking. Since Soviet samizdat at that time was the only media environment, independent from the ideology and censorship. The thesis as well includes analysis and development of Belarusian national idea from its beginning; characteristic of the political, economic and social context of the Soviet period; appearance and analysis of dissent and democratic activities in 1970-1985.
Národní myšlenka revue (1923-1939)

This thesis approaches the ideological orientation, opinion stands and the profile of the revue Národní myšlenka, which was published in the Czechoslovak Republic in years 1923- 1939. The thesis describes historical context, which revue Národní myšlenka was established in, presents the most important personalities of the editorial board of Národní myšlenka - JUDr. Vlastimil Klíma and JUDr. Ladislav Rašín, and approaches content of the selected volumes of Národní myšlenka, whose choice was done in view of important political events of Czechoslovakia. Revue Národní myšlenka was ideologically based on tthe concept of integral nationalism, was far-right, anti-german and antisocialist oriented and was closely connected with the Czechoslovak National democratic party (or more precisely with its Young generation), despite of the fact, that Národní myšlenka always defined itself strictly as the independent magazine. The thesis also contains a part describing original journalistic figure, in this thesis called glossed quotations, which was used by the editorial board of Národní myšlenka for brief and apt declaration of fundamental ideas or statements of eminent personalities of domestic and foreign politics.
