Development of musicial abilities of children of preschool age through chosen musical instruments
ŠTEFÁNIKOVÁ, Kristina
This bachelor thesis deals with the development of musical skills in preliminary education with the support of specified musical instruments. This thesis contains four extended parts. The first part covers a formal characteristic of preschool age from a psychical, mental, emotional and social aspect. The influence of games on this development period is also covered here. The next chapter hosts the structure of musical skills. They can be comprised into eight separate categories: musical auditory skills, rhythmic sense, tonal sense, harmonic sense, musical memory, musical imagination, musical thinking as well as musical creative abilities. The third part of this thesis covers the musical evolvement of preschool children. The closing part deals with the process of designing and making simple musical instruments from available materials. It also presents suggestions for activities featuring musical instruments to further improve musical skills.
Prototype of Touchless Musical Instrument
Pilný, Tomáš ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
In this thesis is described the motivation to create a touchless musical instrument as a platform for live musical performance. Thesis contais the overview of existing electronic musical instruments. Furthermore, it describes process of design and implementation of a prototype.
Theremin: Touchless Musical Instrument
Baštýř, Lukáš ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of a digital touchless musical instrument theremin. In the first part, the theremin, its features and existing solutions are first documented. The second part focuses on the documentation and testing of the software and hardware that can be used to solve this thesis. The penultimate part focuses on the actual implementation of the instrument and the creation of a working prototype. The final section tests functionality of the final prototype instrument.
Materials for Production of Chords for Musical Instruments
Krhut, Štěpán ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
My bachelor’s work is about materials used for making the musical strings and its protection against its wear off. The introduction deals with evolution and history of the musical strings and the next chapters explain physical basics of the vibrations and how to make the musical string. There are also highlighted and many times mentioned guitar strings in my work due to the string manufacturers are made to develop and implement various high level demands into the strings because of the many various guitar playing techniques.
Electric Violin
Domorád, Petr ; Bělohlávek, Jan (referee) ; Zdařil, Zdeněk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of the new design of electric violins. The aim of the work is to break away from the stereotypes and traditional forms of baroque acoustic violins, which are in the design of electric violins often occur . Electric Violin therefore become a kind of substitute for classical violin , this may include a specific instrument , which allows to experiment with violin tones considerably richer . The new design of the shape electric violin should be ergonomically correct for easy violin , but interesting , new and unusual . When designing and manufacturing must be some part of classical violin left ( eg the shape of the neck or fingerboard ) . These parts may slightly vary because each said portion has a specific role to play violin . Proposal for violin based on the basic ergonomic features violin. From classical violin are left only parts which are to preserve functionality may change shape. Three into the protruding part of the body support a comfortable grip of instrument and mechanics, which is located at its ends , allows adjustability holding of instrument by violinist characters . Violin comply with rotational symmetry , which is an advantage , since the instrument can be used right-handed and left-handed. The proposal addresses the fact that the various components do not interfere with the violin ( eg potentiometers for volume and tone controls or instrument input cable for connecting the instrument to the apparatus ) . As these details when control may not see a violinist , but is usually controlled through hearing , are placed in the bottom of the hull of the violin , where playing the violin will not mind a useless way. The material used for the prototype of a violin is wood (possible combinations of various different types of wood for a better visual effect and to promote the curves of the body tools), which, after milling the surface treatment and paint several layers of lacquer . Components for attaching strings and adjustable drives are made of metal. Electronics, which is mounted inside the cavity of the tool body is bought, the additional component.
Design of Digital Piano
Sikora, Halina ; Chorý, Tomáš (referee) ; Sládek, Josef (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the design of a digital piano. This increasingly popular musical instrument offers possibilities not available in an acoustic piano (outputting sound into headphones, utilizing sample libraries, recording, use of sheet music in digital form and more). From technical standpoint, it attempts to closely mimic the qualities of traditional instruments, both in its tactile feedback and sound quality. The aim of this work was to design a solution which would starkly differentiate from the very conservative classical design without being overly extravagant. The main focus is therefore on aspects of visual appearance, with emphasis on ergonomics, and an outline of the technical solution.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform with Ability to Control Parameters by Moving Phone
Barák, Filip ; Kavan, Jan (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to create an application on the Android platform, which is characterized by an unconventional way of controlling the main melodic signal – by moving the phone. At the same time, the application allows you to edit the audio parameters on your phone's display. Another important feature is the ability to compose and later play chords, or other simple harmonies. The application design is preceded by a theoretical introduction, where I briefly analyze the musical terms and parameters of the application that I developed in the Android studio, Java language. Furthermore, I mention the actual methods of application implementation including code samples.
Musical Signal Synthesis on Android
Mikulík, Jan ; Glembek, Ondřej (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
The main task of this thesis is to design and implement new synthesizer on mobile platform under Android. The synthesizer generates three types of signals - sine, sawtooth and square. Two types of filters can be applied, low pass and high pass, and their cut-off frequency can be controlled. For the sound interpretation, an AudioTrack API was used. The synthesizer is controlled by zones, where one zone equals one tone. Zones can be selected by the user. For this synthesizer, a simple user interface was created.
Electronic Drum Control Module
Doležal, Karel ; Růžička, Richard (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This paper deals with development and construction of an electronic drum module. The purpose of the device is to capture signals from an electronic drumkit and to produce sound accordingly. Firstly, a protoype with no sound output is constructed to demonstrate an ability to capture input signals. Based on its function, parameters for a final device are determined. Then, electronic component selection and design of printed circuit boards is described with an aim to maximalize polyphony and minimize latency of the sound generator. After that, firmware with software mixing algorithm is designed. Lastly, testing and measurement of real device parameters is performed.
Establishment of database of musical instruments recordings
Lavický, Vojtěch ; Mácha, Tomáš (referee) ; Rášo, Ondřej (advisor)
In this Bachelor thesis you can find created database of musical instruments. Recordings are descripted by it's waveforms and sectrograms. It may serve for example for removing noise from signal. A general data of instruments are descripted here. Human earing and his perception of sound is discuss here. There are also included parameters of sound itself and theory of calculations. Frequency and dynamic range are written to every instrument in database. These are consequently range by its size. As a part of the thesis is program with graphical user interface. The program include all the recordings from database and is open to any other recordings.
