Non-pharmacological Treatment for Clients with Functional Disorders of the Motion System - the Root Joint Hypermobility
BUREŠOVÁ, Vendula
This thesis deals with research into the issues of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially with hyper-mobility of root joints. It consists of a theoretical and a practical section. The theoretical section describes the components of the musculoskeletal system, with special emphasis on anatomy and basic kinesiology of root joints. The definitions of functional disorders, as well as a comparison with structural disorders, are also be given here. The conclusion of this section is devoted to hyper-mobility and a description of its history, aetiology, etiopathogenesis, and clinical manifestation. A classification of hyper-mobility, as well as diagnostics and differential diagnostics, are also included here. The theoretical section aims to describe the problems associated with hyper-mobility and the diagnostic difficulties. The practical section of this thesis describes the research that applied the qualitative research method. The test group consists of two women of different ages who have been diagnosed with hyper-mobility in their root joints. Their therapy took place in the rehabilitation department of the Vltava Health Centre in České Budějovice. All three patients provided their case history, underwent preliminary kinesiological analysis and verification of hyper-mobility. On the basis of this, the most effective individual therapy was designed and performed, which was originally the aim of this practical section. The therapy was verified through a final kinesiological examination which provided the grounds for the final evaluation of results. This thesis can offer a comprehensive view on the problems of hyper-mobility and the associated symptoms. It emphasises the fact that hyper-mobility should be taken into account and should not be ignored, which has often been the case up to now. The work can also serve as a source of inspiration when designing a rehabilitation plan for hyper-mobile patients.
