Koprivnice 3.0 - Housing A++
Bubeníková, Zuzana ; Rusín, Tomáš (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed at the strategic plan for new use of a plot owned by the town of Kopřivnice, which formerly accomodated exterior handball courts with adjacent facilities and a restaurant, the so-called “Házeňák”. The design follows up the pre-diploma project, which analyses the building theory of socialist urban planning, precisely regarding the zoned city and its influence on the form of the town Kopřivnice as well as the life of its inhabitants. The master planning of the choosen plot relies on the alternation of free urban space and buildings of adequate scale, which respects the existing restaurant building. The typology of the designed buildings combines administration, commercial ground floor and residential floors with the access to roof terraces. The detail of the choosen development strategy is demonstrated on the design of an apartment building which implements the “Baugruppe” construction model consisting of twelve model households. The individual requirements of these households are reflected in the separate layouts of the apartments. The materiality of this apartment building reacts to the observation of the surrounding development and an unmistakeable character of the town. The design of the facade also takes into account the individuality of the households and dynamically reacts to the life in the new neighborhood.
NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner
Spáčilová, Ingrid ; Lazarov, Pavel (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The specified plot is located on the corner of Bratislava and old. It is a former industrial site , which is now perceived more negatively. The area is known as one of the socially excluded localities. In the vicinity there is a large number of initiatives and non-profit organizations that are trying to change this situation. Among homes with historic facades is possible to observe the characteristic features of the area - zašedlost , mild " shabbiness " distinctive apartment homes with porches that create a unique identity space. The main deficiency evaluate poor and inadequate public space . The only usable public space is a commons with sycamore trees across from the Museum of Roma culture, but which is usually filled with cars . Sufficiently large free space , which lies across from the theater joy in the middle area while the liveliest street in Bratislava , is to create a public space directly offers . I therefore propose that a sufficiently large square, which could serve to meet residents and organizing various activities.

Ponava – potential of area development
Holý, Martin ; Adamková, Jana (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Problem - Ponava is an area with relatively large areas of brownfield sites. Ponava should be territory with clearly defined texture blocks, mixed functions , high proportion of total housing and urban character. The area solved in this work was selected as most suitable for the creation of the initiation core, ie core starting as development of the whole territory. Uncertainty about the future, including needs to be in 5, 10, 20 years doing the classic urban planning dysfunctional method of working with the territory. Solution - My urban concept seeks to provide sufficient flexibility in terms of use of buildings and open spaces. It is particularly advantageous because it can hold more small investors, who can work independently. Each part of the territory may work alone, just under the current situation and needs of society. The concept is simple division of the area in a regular rectangular network by the same part of the individual and their subsequent filling. Placing buildings is chessboard, thus ensuring their adequate sun and at the same time easy permeability of territory in all directions. The spaces between buildings have in the outer parts character of living square with a strong influence of the adjacent street. Inside these areas is the interspace quiet and mainly serves the local population.
