The aim of this bachelors thesis is to summarize the available information about mineral springs in he Františkovy Lázně region and to characterize them in detail from chemical and physical point of view. The thesis also deals with the geology and hydrogeology of the given area. It defines the concept of balneology and gives examples of diseases that can be treated with the help of mineral springs. For the needs of elementary schools, individual mineral springs in Františkovy Lázně are part of the excursion circuit. History, current status and effectiveness of the protection zone I B of natural healing resources in the spa place Karlovy Vary The first part of this bachelor thesis contains the general theoretical findings and explains the terms of this matter like the geological and hydrogeological situation in Western Bohemia Region. This piece of knowledge is essential in order to effectively determine the protective areas of natural healing springs in Karlovy Vary. The main part of the thesis looks into the protective area of I B degree, describes its history and surveys the current condition of this area of interest. The aim of the thesis is to summarize the gained knowledge of this matter, to suggest the supportive operations in order to maintain the good condition of the protective area of I B degree, and to assess the current situation including a view of the near future.

This bachelor´s thesis The coexistence of the natural healing mineral water spring Bílinská kyselka with municipal activities in Bílina - the technical and legal aspects is an evaluation of the development of use and protection of the natural healing mineral water spring Bílinská kyselka and its conflicts with coal mining, transport and urban development. It deals with this issue from the viewpoint of the history of water catchment, legislation, binding documents and forward-looking concepts. It identifies the most important aspects and tries to propose solutions.
Current status of the Karlovy Vary Region's spas and prospects of its development

This thesis shows complete historical and current development of balneology in Karlovy Vary Region. Thesis is designed to reflect a distinct difference in balneology in history and at the present time, complemented by pictures as the annexes contents. I'm mainly going to focus on the comparison of treatments, leisure activities, spa locations, accommodation, transportation, history and spa development opportunities. Namely, I am going to discuss Karlovy Vary, Jáchymov, Mariánské Lázně, Františkovy Lázně, Lázně Kynžvart and Kyselka spa. These spas are in a poor state currently and thus aren't in use for spa purposes at the moment. On the contrary Aš town wants to build a new spa in the Doubrava village. Results related to this research are meant to enrich yet undiscovered balneology possibilities in Karlovy Vary region.
