Thermal model of vehicle cabin for HIL simulation
Chromiak, Michael ; Šolc, František (referee) ; Glos, Jan (advisor)
The air temperature inside the car's cab affects the driver as well as the entire crew. In particular, the driver of the car needs maximum thermal comfort, as it is one of the factors that can affect its attention. Before starting to solve this assignment, you will need to summarize the theoretical knowledge needed to properly solve the task. The main objective of this work will be the creation of a thermal model of a car cabin realized in the form of differential equations describing temperatures, which will be assembled in Simulink. The script in Matlab will be created to enter the individual car cabin parameters. From the perspective of the car crew, it is possible to use air conditioning or window openings to influence the air temperature while driving in the car. Therefore, the model enters the time flow of the air flow and temperature from the air conditioning as well as other parameters, including the outside temperature. From the entered parameters, the model then determines the temperature of the car cabin. The resulting model will need to be created so that it can be implemented into a microcontroller and prepare the necessary interface for HIL simulation.
Material properties research for use in high-temperature solar thermal storage tank
Šot, František ; Vala, Jiří (referee) ; TROJAN,, Karel (referee) ; Steuer,, Radek (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The use of thermal storage energy, using phase change materials appears to be an effective way to store thermal energy storage with the benefits of the high amount of energy while maintaining isothermal nature of the process. PCM methods are used in latent thermal storage systems for heat pumps, as well as in solar engineering or for temperature control in spacecraft. The past decade has extended these principles for cooling and heating in the building. There are a number of PCM systems, which operate over a wide temperature range, are used in various applications. This document includes a brief overview of the development and analysis of available thermal storage working mainly on the principle of PCM.

In the last part of thesis, there is an example of a spe-cific exchanger and his solving based on four various inputs of these properties.
Study of heat transport throw bulk materials with electric conductive aditive
Vacula, Jan ; Menčík, Přemysl (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the study of heat transport in bulk materials made from PLA (polylactic acid) filaments by 3D printing. For subsequent applications it is important to know the electrical, dielectric and thermal parameters of materials with different dyes, pigments and electrically conductive additives. The aim of this work is mainly to study the thermal properties of the series and the influence of additives on these properties. The main focus is to study the thermal properties of the samples. In the theoretical part, different 3D printing methods are mentioned, the methods of measuring the thermal properties, and finally the properties of the lactic acid polymer are described. The experimental part is devoted to the description of the process of 3D printing samples for measurements and then the method of measuring the thermal properties of the printed samples is described. For samples with electrically conductive admixtures, the thermal conductivity was found to be in the range of (0,217–0,292) W/m/K and the specific heat capacity was found to be (382,2–1 007,2) J/kg/K. The electrically conductive materials (PLA with metallic admixtures) were found to have a very good thermal conductivity and a smaller specific heat capacity, while the materials with admixtures of dyes and pigments showed a smaller thermal conductivity and a larger specific heat capacity.

Cabúk, Matej ; Kárník, Jan (referee) ; Fic, Miloslav (advisor)
Nanomaterials are phenomena of present time in science and technology. Nanofluids are fluids with original characteristics. In this thesis are presented production methods and effect of nanoparticles onto basic thermophysical properties. Applications of nanofluids are attractive. It is used mainly in heat transfer systems, but can be used in wide area. It can increase the performance a efficiency, save energy and money but also rescue human lives.
Measurement of selected physical properties of the waste water from biogas plant
Ondruška, Vojtěch ; Zejda, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis is the experimental measurement of physical and chemical properties of the wastewater from biogas plants. Thesis concisely describes wastewater and its origin. The main part is dedicated to the design of experiments and to the detailed description of the measurement of selected properties with the available laboratory methods. Measured data are evaluated and compared to literature. The results of this thesis can be employed to further develop the equipment for thickening wastewater from biogas plants or to other scientific activity in the field of waste management in agriculture.
Study of Thermal Properties of Materials for 3D Printing
Lapčíková, Tereza ; Menčík, Přemysl (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to study thermal properties of materials used for 3D printing (so-called filaments), especially a polylactic acid (PLA). Within the theoretical part there was performed the literature review focused on the description of different methods of 3D printing including the summary of suitable materials for these technologies. In particular, we focused on the preparation of PLA, its summarization of its chemical, physical and thermal properties and its practical use in 3D additive printing manufacturing, e.g. in biomedical applications. In the experimental part, PLA samples of different thicknesses were prepared by 3D printing technique and thermal properties such as thermal capacity and thermal conductivity were determined. It was found that thermal conductivity of studied material was 0,128 W/m/K and specific heat capacity 1335 J/kg/K. These values corresponded to the once given in the literature.
Transport and thermophysical data for thermic sanitation calculation of agricultural seeds
Vávra, Dan ; Brummer, Vladimír (referee) ; Juřena, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on properties that are important for thermal sanitation. Commonly used seed treatment methods are summarized in the theoretical part. Furthermore, seeds‘ transport and thermo–physical properties are written out and described. To the present day, the properties of wheat seeds have been determined, while there are fewer publications for pea seeds. The available properties were determined by research for wheat and pea seeds. Furthermore, the experimental procedures for obtaining wheat properties were verified and then the procedures were applied to pea seeds. In the experiments, values were obtained for porosity, bulk density, true density, static angle of repose and specific heat capacity for certain humidity. The results are written out with total measurement uncertainties. The values of properties were discussed.
Study of energy accumulation during phase change of paraffin wax
Lapčíková, Tereza ; Krouská, Jitka (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
This thesis deals with the study of the process of energy storage during phase transformation, the so-called latent heat for commercial materials of the Rubitherm® RT line (Rubitherm Technologies GmbH) with applications in the construction industry. The thermophysical properties of Rubitherm® RT35HC, RT28HC and RT18HC materials differing in phase transformation temperature were investigated using the transient method. For the Rubitherm® RT35HC material a value of the thermal conductivity coefficient in the solid phase of 0.21 W/m/K and in the liquid phase of 0.23 W/m/K was determined. The specific heat capacity value in the solid phase was determined to be 1980 J/kg/K and in the liquid phase 1995 J/kg/K. For Rubitherm® RT28HC, the value of the thermal conductivity coefficient in the solid phase was determined to be 0,23 W/m/K and the value of the specific heat capacity in the solid phase was determined to be 1997 J/kg/K. For the Rubitherm® RT18HC material, a liquid phase thermal conductivity coefficient of 0,27 W/m/K and a liquid phase specific heat capacity of 2010 J/kg/K were determined. Using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), the melting temperature of the Rubitherm® RT28HC sample was determined at 27.43 °C and solidification at 23.51 °C, while for the Rubitherm® RT35HC sample melting occurred at 36.51 °C and solidification at 31.86 °C and 32.28 °C. In the experimental part of this work, modifications were made to the measuring apparatus used in such a way that it could be used for the study of materials that change their state of matter during the experiment.
