Travelling Crab

This work deals with the calculation and suggestion of the main parts of the travelling crab for lifting capacity of 45 000 kg. It consists primarily of determining the ropes, pulleys and cable drum and assigning of appropriate engine, brakes, gearbox and clutch. The work also contains strength calculation and suggested dimensions of main parts of sheave block, like the pin hook block, crossbeam, hook nut and rope pulleys, which are delivered with drawing documentation along with drawing of sheave block and piece list.

In this thesis are proposed elements of rope system, which include rope, pulleys and rope drum. Part of the thesis is also the strength calculation of the sheave block and proposal of individual components of the lifting mechanism drive such as engine, gearbox and brake. The output of this thesis is a drawing documentation including drawing of the sheave block assembly and drawings of selected details.
