Difussion of Bitcoin in the Czech republic: The relation of innovation attributes on the innovation-decision process.
Havrland, Ladislav ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Hájek, Martin (referee)
Bitcoin is a topic that affects almost the entire adult population of the Czech Republic that has an Internet connection. Almost every Czech is familiar with Bitcoin online and two-thirds of them spontaneously remember it. Bitcoin ownership was declared by 17% of respondents. Other cryptocurrencies in the Czech environment lag significantly behind in terms of key indicators. The relationship between Bitcoin attributes and the decision making process is statistically significant. Contrary to the original assumption that the attributes of Bitcoin would be the independent variable, the correlation analysis revealed that aspects of the decision-making process were the independent variable. It must be added that this result needs to be taken in the context of data measurement. The measured data shows that in the attitude and confirmation phase of the decision- making process, the relationship with the attributes of Bitcoin is positive. In stages, people perceive the attributes of Bitocin as simple and see in it the advantages that they can use. In the stages of knowledge, decision and application, the association with the attributes of Bitcoin is rather negative. At those stages, Bitcoin is difficult for people to grasp or where I don't see a use for them. Thus, the stages of awareness, decision and application...

This dissertation thesis consists of three essays on new EU foreign exchange markets (FX), i.e. the Czech koruna, Polish zloty and Hungarian forint. In the first two essays, the impact of foreign macroeconomic news announcements and central banks' monetary policy settings on the value and volatility of examined exchange rates is analyzed. In the third chapter, the conditional comovements and volatility spillovers on new EU FX markets is examined. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the existing empirical literature by providing new evidence of the examined currencies during periods, which have not been examined yet (after the Global financial crisis (GFC), during the EU debt crisis and during currency interventions in the Czech Republic). The first essay (Chapter 2) examines the impact of Eurozone/Germany and US macroeconomic news announcements and monetary policy settings of the ECB and the Fed on the value of new EU member states' currencies. It is a complex analysis of 1-minute intraday dataset performed by event study methodology (ESM). We observe different reactions of exchange rates in pair with the US dollar on the US macroeconomic announcements and Euro-expressed FX rates on Germany macro news during the EU debt crisis and after it. We also provide evidence of leaking news, showing...
Development of a mobile application for Windows Phone and its publication in the Windows Phone Store
NĚMEC, Radek
This thesis describes the mobile operating system Windows Phone 8.1 (launched in the middle of 2014) and an application development. A partial goal is to introduce the system, including all parameters, features and technologies, which are necessary for application development. The main goal of my work is to create an application that downloads exchange rates of selected currencies from the website of the Czech National Bank. The app shows current exchange rates. It is possible to convert between different currencies. Also, there is a graph of the selected currency showing exchange rate history in selected period. My app is fully customizable for every user, so they can adjust it to suit their needs. In my thesis there is a summarization of all the information necessary for introducing Windows Phone 8.1 to the beginners in application development.
