Case study of physiotherapy Early Phase Rehabilitation and Adaptation following Lower Limb Amputation
Fiala, Lucie ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
V Abstract (in English) Author: Lucie Fiala Title: Case study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Transfemoral Amputation Objectives: The thesis is structured in three main parts. The first part provides background information on lower limb amputations, covering the etiology, prevalence, clinical picture, etiology, prevalence, types of lower limb amputations, prosthetics, prognosis, complications, and patho-kinesiology. The second part covers the physiotherapy and rehabilitation that goes into lower limb amputations and currently available treatments. The final part presents a case study conducted at the Nemocnice na Homolce, including detailed examinations, therapy interventions, results evaluation, and therapy effectiveness. Methods: All examinations and treatments are based on the knowledge I have acquired in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Charles University. These include goniometry, anthropometric measurements, posture and gait examinations and training, breathing pattern, muscle strength tests, and movement pattern. The methods used for the patient therapy were primarily strengthening exercises, stretching, soft tissue therapy, and PIR. No invasive methods were used. The main goals of the therapy were to reduce the pain and edema, improve mobility, balance, and coordination,...
Assessment of the effect of CDP training in patient after lower extremity amputation
Čermáková, Kamila ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Assessment of the effect of CDP training in patient after lower extremity amputation Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the influence of the individually set training programme on the computerized dynamic posturography (CDP) NeuroCom Smart EquiTest System (further referred to as EquiTest) independent of traditional therapeutic exercises in the patient after unilateral transfemoral amputation of the lower limb and to monitor the effect of this training on postural behaviour, ability of functional mobility and balance, frequency of falls and balance confidence in an individual after amputation. Methods: This is an experimental pilot case study that monitors the effect of an individually designed five-week training programme (with a frequency of exercises 2 times a week) on the EquiTest in one patient after unilateral transfemoral amputation of the lower limb. Examination of postural functions was performed by the EquiTest using SOT, MCT, and LOS tests. The ability of functional mobility and balance was tested using the functional Timed up and go test (TUG). The frequency of falls was detected from the proband's medical history. The balance confidence was determined using the Activities specific balance confidence scale (ABC). All measurements were made in two terms, i.e....
Post operative care of diabetes patients after lower limb amputation
Kadlec, Petr ; Šolc, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Půlpán, Rudolf (referee)
Title: Post operative care of diabetes patients after lower limb amputation Objectives: This bachelor thesis focuses on post-operative care of diabetes patients with lower limb amputation and its physiotherapeutic and prosthetic aspects. Methods: The methods used are those of information research. The data were obtained through a qualitative method of data collecting as well as a secondary analysis of information coming from academic articles, journals and other publications. Results: The thesis is based on information research and information gathered is presented in a complex and coherent form. In medicine, the thesis can be used by experts as a source of information in post-operative care of patients suffering from diabetes as well some other health problems. A plus is that information presented is comprehensible to the general public. Keywords: amputation, lower limb amputation, diabetes mellitus, rehabilitation, post operative care, prosthetic devices, prosthetics, lower limb prosthetics
Effects of movement lesson inspired by Feldenkrais Method on thorax and pelvis movement in individuals after leg amputation
Michalová, Petra ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Křivánková, Markéta (referee)
Title: Effects of movement lesson inspired by Feldenkrais Method on thorax and pelvis movement in individuals after leg amputation Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the monitoring of influencing the extent and perception of movement of the chest and masters after the intervention of an exercise lesson inspired by the Feldenkrais method (FM) in individuals after amputation of the lower limb. Method: It is a work with a theoretical-empirical structure, a quantitative approach with a controlled study. The topic of the research was monitoring the influence of the Feldenkrais method on the statics and dynamics of the pelvis, postural stabilization and subjective perception. The accuracy of pelvic reduction, the range of motion of the pelvis and chest were examined. The flexibility of the hamstrings and lumbar region was tested using the Sit and reach test. Subjective perception after the intervention was tested using a survey. A total of five probands were tested, each of whom underwent a separate intervention in the form of a Pelvic Lesson lesson from the Feldenkrais method. Results: After the intervention of the Pelvic Clock lessons from FM, the probands did not increase the smoothness of the stabilizing movements of the pelvis. There have been improvements in changes in...

Case report of a blind patient after upper knee amputation
Hlaváčková, Anna ; Vláčilová, Ivana (advisor) ; Peržel´, Jozef (referee)
Title: Case report of a blind patient after upper knee amputation. Summary: The thesis consists of two parts, a general part and a special one. The general part contains theoretical description of the diagnosis. It includes the anatomy and kinesiology of a lower limbs. Outlines informations associated with prosthetic and rehabilitation from the perspective of physiotherapist. It will further include blindness, its causes and possibilities of rehabilitation with this kind of patient. In a special section, there will be processed casuistry of the blind patient with the diagnosis of the above-knee amputation of his left leg. There will be kinesiology analysis, design short- and long-term rehabilitation plan, an outline of the therapy, outgoing examination and evaluation of the effect of therapy. I made this case report during my rehabilitation practice on the Rehabilitation Clinic Malvazinky in Prague. Key words: physiotherapy, physical therapy, amputation, lower limb amputation, case report, blindness.
