Mobile App for Notifying about Reaching a Location
Ungrová, Klára ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a simple Android application which will be able to send notifications when entering or exiting a zone of user's interest and will overall ease the process of informing other people. Detection of entering/exiting zone is based on the principles of geofencing. SQLite database is used to save user's zones of interest (and details about them) persistently. When crossing the boundaries of a zone of interest, a user receives a notification - by clicking on it a user has the opportunity to send the message to other person. The message to be sent can be preset for every zone (both for entering and exiting). It is possible to activate/deactivate the monitoring of any zone any time. A user can display zones on the map. There is a possibility to send a trial explanatory notification for user to better understand its functionality. The foreground service which takes care of retrieving up-to-date location is running even if the app is swiped away from running applications. To kill the application, the switch off button in the app needs to be pressed. The main focus of this work is design, implementation and testing of the mobile application. The final version has been published to Google Play store.
Live Low Framerate
Vrzáková, Barbora ; Maixner, Miroslav (referee) ; Mazanec, Martin (advisor)
In my diploma project I work with a topic of "watching" and arranging of view through digital media, especially the internet. The society got used to permanent presence of CCTV cameras at city squres, banks and shopping centres. The take of tracked locations is much bigger though. I was suprised by the amount of streams from totally unexpected places, which are possible to watch online. It is not a problem to visit a kitchen of columbian bistro, japanise barber shop or italian church, all from the comfort of home. The stream is running constantly and the viewer is limited only by the setting of the camera and a timezone of the particular country. Considering the fact, that separate streams are supplemented by almost no information, we are not able to define, who is the watchman, why is he watching and what is the actuall reason for watching. The whole situation of observing something in limited framerate without any context is just funny and creepy at the same time. My diploma project, which I named Live Low Framerate, is some kind of a reaction of those bizzare aspects of watching the public space.

Rokczaner family of Prague's Old Town. From councillors to knights
Chmátal, Jonáš ; Žemlička, Josef (advisor) ; Musílek, Martin (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on Rockzaner family, one significant patrician family of Prague's Old Town. The goal of this thesis is to bring wide biographical description of this family. Similiar biography already exists but just as a part of monumental work of Vaclav Vladivoj Tomek from 70's of 19th century. That is why I am persuaded that such biography should be rewriten to better suit modern historical science. Another goal is to prove that topic of prague's patrician families is not exhausted and there is still a plenty of free space for a research to be done. Next to biographical description this thesis also contains one chapter devoted to Rockzaner's rural estates and its's problematic. As for my opinion this biography should stand as a basis for future research of Rockzaner family and their's economical and social activities. Keywords: Old Town of Prague, patrician, Okor castle, knight, Rockzaner, medieval, medieval city, citizen, location, 14th century, colonization, money loans, rural estates, city council
