Tester for lithium cells
Buček, Vojtěch ; Tomíček, Pavel (referee) ; Dvorský, Adam (advisor)
The thesis deals with testing the state of lithium batteries, their aging, and verifying manufacturer-specified parameters. Based on commercial solutions for lithium battery testers, a custom circuit is designed and fabricated to verify the parameters of the measured batteries. The design includes necessary modules, components, and a description of the issues related to measuring lithium cells. The proposed tester allows for transferring measured data to a computer for subsequent processing and interpretation. Current necessary information is displayed in real-time on the screen. By comparing with a laboratory tester, the accuracy of the custom device is determined.
Lithium and its impact on the environment in lithium battery cell failures
Linney, Phillip George ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the study of the release of alkali metals and selected heavy metals from battery cells into firefighting water. The battery samples were prepared by superheating them with subsequent explosion and then leaching in distilled water. The change in pH and conductivity compared to distilled water was monitored after a specified time. Flame emission spectrometry and ICP-MS were used to measure elemental concentrations. The measured values of metal contents in aqueous extracts of the battery samples burned in air were compared with those of the samples exploded under water. Some differences were found. A concentration sequence was found for the extracts of the air-burned battery samplesLi+ >> K+ > Na+, whereas for the samples of extracts of batteries burnt in water the concentration sequence Li+ >> Na+ > K+ was found. The concentrations of Na+ ions were around 12.7 mg/l for the samples exploded under water and 275 mg/l thereafter. The K+ concentration was around 19 mg/l for both sample types. Lithium ions were determined the most of all elements measured, averaging 1500 mg/l for air-burned samples and 8200 mg/l for underwater exploded samples. Higher concentrations of Fe, Ni, Cu, Mn and Co were found in the ICP-MS measurements depending on the composition of the battery sample.
Electrolytes containing a phosphorus-based flame retardant
Pelikán, Ondřej ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Máca, Josef (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the theoretical knowledge of lithium accumulators. More attention is given to electrolytes and especially to flame retardants, where the types and individual examples of flame retardants are described more detailed. The practical part is focused on the individual laboratory measurement of selected samples of electrolytes with different flame retardants. The measurement results are analyzed in other parts.
Design of suitable HW and SW components for remote data transmission
Pietrowicz, Daniel ; Marada, Tomáš (referee) ; Němec, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the design of remote data transmission equipment, without access to mains power. The device will measure the voltage of the gas pipeline and send this information to the operator for processing. Analysis of today's technologies for long-distance transmission and based on the selected technology, the device will be designed. According to selected components, its power supply will be designed with the aim of long-term functionality and continuous operation.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR PORTABLE STORAGE OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY
Automatic Detection of a Vessel Mooring at an Anchor Buoy in LPWAN Networks
Kejík, Petr ; Klusáček, Stanislav (referee) ; Kopečný, Lukáš (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the design and construction of a maintenance-free unit for the detection of vessel mooring to an anchor buoy. The unit is powered by a battery with the possibility of running from another alternative source of power, in this particular case a solar panel. For wireless communication, the unit uses LoRa and NB-IoT technologies working in the LPWAN networks. During the designing phase, emphasis is placed on aspects such as maintenance-free duty, minimal consumption and the possibility of mounting on any type of buoy. The thesis also deals with the mechanical design of the device and design of the prototype of the detection element. The work is created in a cooperation with Netlia IoT s.r.o., which mainly deals with the custom production of devices using smart sensors and LPWAN communication technologies.

The Influence of the Binder on the Final Capacity of the Negative Electrode Material Carbon CR5995 for Lithium-ion Batteries
Gottwald, Tomáš
This article deals with the issues of using binders for lithium-ion electrodes and optimizing the technological process for their production. The work focuses on optimizing the amount of binder used in order to achieve the most capacity. The methodology consists of creating an appropriate experimental electrode and subsequent measuring its associated capacity with BioLogic. This approach leads to creating graphs which show the dependencies of capacity on the amount of binder used.

International transport of dangerous goods in air and road transportation
HÁJKOVÁ, Pavlína
The aim of the diploma thesis is analysis of air and road transport of dangerous goods and subsequent comparison of IATA DGR conditions for the air transport of dangerous goods with ADR conditions for the transport of dangerous goods by road and their application on a particular business case. Another aim of the thesis is to carry out a price calculation of road and air transport of a sample lithium battery consignment, to evaluate both types of transport with regard to their price and time efficiency and to make the final recommendations regarding the choice of more efficient mode of transport.
