Cohort differences in understanding and strategies to accumulate and preserve economic capital
Janda, Matyáš ; Hájek, Martin (advisor) ; Tremčinský, Martin (referee)
The thesis Cohort Differences in Understanding and Strategies of Economic Capital Accumulation and Preservation compares the strategies of two different generations in the context of economic capital accumulation and preservation. The theoretical part focuses on the term capital, both from a historical and a modern perspective, while describing the term from a multi-paradigm perspective, particularly from an economic and economical-sociological perspective. Furthermore, the thesis provides insights into Karl Mannheim's theory of generations. Our research has helped us to find and understand the main differences in capital accumulation and preservation strategies, such as the approach to risk or the approach to the ever-evolving financial market. The paper is also critically reviewed in the Limits of Research chapter, where we analyze what could be more effectively explored in future studies of this topic.

Human behaviour in crisis situations
Kubáčková, Petra ; Kebza, Vladimír (advisor) ; Daniel, Daniel (referee)
The thesis, entitled "Human behaviour in crisis situations", is focused on the issue of floods as a specific emergency situation. The theoretical part analyses the emergency situation itself, its initiators and development. Subsequently, it describes crisis interventions and fundamental strategies, which help to successfully overcome the crisis. Furthermore, the first part deals with stress, its impact on our health, stress responses and possible strategies how to control it. Consequently, it describes forms of social support, which are important for people affected by the emergency situation. The partial conclusion aims to theoretically summarize the issue of floods. The practical part is based on a quantitative research method, specifically questionnaire survey, which was targeted on people, who have experienced floods, and thus help to characterize their behavior. The second partial conclusion summarizes the questionnaire responses and the hypotheses will be either verified or falsified at the end.
Stock Price Bubbles
Li, Xiaokun ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Veselý, Marek (referee)
Economic bubbles are playing an increasingly significant role in the current global economy. We believe these bubbles are to a certain extent dominating the real economy, and, therefore, research based on this specific economic phenomenon is becoming increasingly popular and important. The focus of this master's thesis is based upon analysis of stock price bubbles. This thesis contains author analyzed historical cases representative of stock price bubbles; summarizations of their traditional features; common factors causing their formation; and reasons leading to their bursting. Solutions to the dilemma of stock price bubbles are discussed in depth, and emphasis is placed upon clearly deciphering different theoretical approaches regarding this phenomenon-not only from the efficient market hypothesis viewpoint but also from the perspective of behavioral finance. The research contains testing and measuring methodologies of stock price bubbles, and the author's view concerning them is strongly supported by the results within the empirical data-testing chapter. Upon reading, one can expect to achieve a basic overview of this forefront science.
